Standing tall, I crossed my arms across my chest. Though every part of me burned with irritation as Lucien’s eyes found Ravena. My wolf stirred, restless and on edge.

For a moment, it looked like it was only the two of them locked in that stare. Her posture was strong, but I saw the tightness in her shoulders. I knew her too well not to notice.

With a tight jaw, I broke the silence with a pointed question. “Alpha Lucien. General Astrid. You arrived late. Care to explain why?”
