Chapter 3

Author: TP
Over the next few days, I cut off my mind link with Simon and slept better than I had in years.

I stopped asking about anything related to him and focused instead on training a young Beta she-wolf named Amy Green.

"This is the patrol access key for the protective forest. It rotates every three hours. And this is the inventory list for the winter supply reserves…"

In the study, I handed things over, one item at a time.

Amy looked at me, panic written all over her face.

"Luna, what are you doing? These are things you've always handled personally—"

"You're the sharpest among the Betas," I cut her off and slid the documents toward her. "From now on, all of this is yours."

Simon passed by the study, saw the scene, and let out a scoff.

"What's this? Playing the Luna card now? Dumping trivial work on your subordinates?"

He didn't understand that I was erasing myself.

I didn't want my departure to throw the pack into chaos. That was my responsibility as Luna.

Friday was the Full Moon Feast.

It was the most important gathering of the pack. Every member attended to honor the Moon Goddess. Outsiders were strictly forbidden.

Yet Simon, as Alpha, openly brought the human girl with him.

When Lily appeared wearing a dress that belonged to me, the lively hall fell dead silent. Dozens of eyes locked onto her, low warning growls rippling through the room.

Lily turned pale and shrank into Simon's arms.

"Simon, help me!"

Simon's expression darkened as his Alpha pressure burst outward, forcing the room into submission.

"Enough. Anyone who scares her is disrespecting me!"

The pack was suppressed, furious but silent.

From the corner, I watched the farce like an outsider.

See? This was their Alpha, someone willing to humiliate his own kind for the sake of a human.

I almost found it funny.

The feast ended on a sour note, and everyone left.

When our ride pulled up, Lily rushed ahead, pulled open the passenger door, and plopped into the seat.

She turned back and looked at me with an innocent smile.

"Sorry, Tanya. I can't handle the smell back there."

Simon looked at me, too. I knew he was waiting for a reaction.

I just smiled.

"It's fine. It's all the same."

I opened the rear door and got in.

Simon seemingly glanced at me through the rearview mirror.

I looked out at the dark forest sliding past the window.

The whole drive, Lily chattered nonstop.

"Wow, that tree is so tall!

"Simon, do werewolves really transform? Will you show me sometime?"

She put her ignorance and innocence on full display.

Simon answered her halfheartedly, but his attention never left me.

"Tanya, did you lose your voice?" he finally snapped.

"There's nothing to say," I replied flatly.

Back at the house, I went straight into the bedroom and sat at the vanity.

I stared at the ring on my ring finger, the symbol of our vow, for a long time.

Three years ago, Simon had led the Moonshade Pack to completely crush the vampire forces, reaching the height of his prestige.

Using the rarest gemstone taken from that battle, he personally crafted this ring for me.

At the mate bond ceremony, the ring had drawn down a miracle from the Moon Goddess and received a blessing of eternal loyalty.

The gem still shone with its cold, clear light. But the vow behind it had long since rotted through.

I couldn't bear to look anymore and gently took it off.

Instead, hot blood splashed against my cheek.Simon's tall body took the fatal blow meant for me.Without a word, he clamped a hand around the lone wolf's throat. The wolf didn't even have time to scream before its neck was snapped cleanly. Then, radiating

  • From Luna to Alpha   Chapter 9

Simon didn't gain anything at the Northern United Pack's territory. Kyle's pack wasn't afraid of him at all. They looked at him like he was a joke. Someone even whistled and sneered, "Is this the idiot Alpha who threw away a precious Luna for a dumb pet? What a disgrace."Under the mockery, Simon left with his guards, his face dark and rigid. What he didn't expect was that once he returned to his territory, his wolf spirit began to weaken rapidly. This was the Moon Goddess's punishment, a curse for betraying one's true mate. His strength drained away, and his mind started to crack. And Lily, the girl he had held so carefully in his hands, finally showed her true colors.Seeing Simon lose power and grow physically weak, Lily started sleeping with other werewolves. That night, Simon snapped and threw the vile human girl out.Later, he accidentally knocked over Lily's jewelry box. • From Luna to Alpha   Chapter 8

The Northern United Pack was a place that valued strength over bloodline. With a cool head and a sharp sense for strategy, I quickly established myself and became the pack's chief tactical advisor. No one called me Simon's Luna anymore. Here, they addressed me as Ms. Walker. That was where I met Kyle Bennett. He was a young Alpha, built with the solid frame typical of northern wolves, yet his eyes were as clear as a mountain lake.He didn't know how to sweet-talk or flatter.Every morning, he simply left a small bundle of wildflowers outside my tent, still damp with dew. They weren't expensive greenhouse roses, but tough little daisies that grew stubbornly by the roadside."Morning, Tanya."He always kept a distance of three steps, showing absolute respect."The wind was pretty strong last night. I tightened the tent ropes for you."As I watched how careful he was, a crack finally formed in my frozen heart. So this was what real affection looked like. It was being afraid to

Simon clearly had no intention of letting things end there."Come back with me. That's an order!"He was humiliated and furious. His Alpha pressure surged as he reached out to drag me by force."This is the neutral zone. No fights."A low voice cut in.The bar's back door was pushed open, and the owner stepped out with a cigar clenched between his teeth. He was a battle-hardened old werewolf. One of his legs was gone, but the murderous aura around him hadn't faded at all.He stepped in front of me and looked at Simon coldly."Laying hands on my employee on my turf. That's against the rules."Simon stared at me, his chest heaving. He knew the neutral zone's laws. Starting a fight here would draw retaliation from multiple factions."Fine."Simon pointed at me, then at the owner, his smile twisted."Let's see how long you can protect her."Tanya, I'll make sure you can't make a living here. I'll make you crawl back on your knees, begging me."He turned and stormed off, his

One month later, at an underground fight bar in a neutral zone."Hey, new girl! Clean up that puke over there!" the owner shouted from behind the bar."On it."I put down the rag in my hand, grabbed a mop, and walked over.A month ago, I drifted into this place.Since I didn't have any form of ID, the only job I could get in this lawless area was janitorial work.My daily routine was scrubbing blood off the floor. It was filthy and exhausting, and the pay barely covered food. But I felt free. I didn't have to watch anyone's mood or guess what anyone was thinking. As I mopped, I listened to the casual chatter from nearby drinkers. This place was an information hub. News about Simon always found its way into my ears."Did you hear? The Moonshade Pack took a serious hit recently."A thick-necked werewolf took a swig of his drink."Negotiations with the vampire territory blew up. Sounds like bad intel."Their former Luna used to handle that stuff. She never missed a detail. N

The air froze the moment I said I was severing our bond.Simon slammed on the brakes and whipped his head around, his eyes bloodshot."Have you lost your mind? The mate bond is witnessed by the Moon Goddess. You think you can just break it because you feel like it?"I looked at the wolf in front of me, his emotions spiraling out of control, and kept my voice steady."So you do remember the Moon Goddess."I let out a cold laugh, mockery filling my eyes."When you pinned Lily beneath you, dressed her in my clothes, and let her sleep in my room… Why didn't you remember the Moon Goddess was watching you act like a dog in heat?"Simon looked as if he had been slapped hard across the face. His momentum stalled for a split second. Then his Alpha aura surged toward me.My wolf spirit trembled, but I clenched my teeth and held my ground."Simon, drop the pathetic act."Facing the suffocating pressure, I recited the severance oath, slowly and clearly."I renounce vows built on lies,
