Chapter 46: The Gala

QUINN'S POV

"You look radiant," Ford complimented as he swept into my apartment the following weekend.

He pressed a kiss to my forehead and I looked down at my floor length, gold evening gown, with gentle ruching across the waist and hips. The dress glittered when the light caught it and I felt like a million bucks, especially when Ford's eyes roved over me from head to toe. The appreciation in his eyes gleamed unmistakably.

"I should. It's Valentino," I kidded.

He'd had the dress and a tailor sent to my apartment on Wednesday for a fitting. I'd recently gained a little weight and my bottom and breasts had begun to fill out. After the alterations were made, the dress clung to every new curve. The side split reached mid-thigh and although I wore two inch gold heels, I knew I'd trip and fall before the night ended.

I already felt the waves of anxiety having to give my speech at the D.C.'s Deserving gala. A tumble on stage was the last thing I needed.
