Chapter 1 Take Responsibility for My Sister

Tamara Simmons felt a hot breath fanning across her neck and the smell of a man’s cologne flooding her nose before she fainted.

The next morning, Tamara was finding it hard to breathe. It was as if someone was choking her. She pried her eyes open and saw a good-looking man glaring at her with hatred.

"How dare you scheme against me?" Sebastian Lynch roared. His hold was strong enough to snap Tamara’s neck if he wanted to.

Tamara choked.

Her vision blurred, and she struggled against Sebastian. This only made Sebastian tighten his hold on her. Tamara gasped for air, her face pale from the lack of oxygen.

Her struggles seemed to be rewarded as the man loosened his hold on her. Even so, he still held Tamara by her throat.

With the feeling of air rushing into her lungs, Tamara felt as if she had been given a second chance at life.

Her vision was back, and she glanced at her surroundings. Almost immediately, her eyes widened into the size of saucers as she turned as white as paper.

Where in the world was she?

Shouldn’t she be at her parents’ funeral?

Why was she in a hotel room instead?

"Stop with the innocent act! How dare you scheme against me? Prepare to pay the price!" Sebastian looked as cold as ice and sounded absolutely pissed. Paired with the burning hatred in his eyes, he looked as if he wanted nothing more than to end Tamara’s life.

Tamara stared at him in fear and tried to get up. However, Sebastian was strong and had her pinned down. She couldn’t move an inch!

In her struggle, the blanket slipped down and revealed her naked shoulders.

Sebastian’s gaze darkened. He put on a look of disgust and let go of her instantly.

All of a sudden, the door swung open with a bang and a group of people rushed in. They pointed their cameras at the bed and started taking photos of the two.

"Stop! No photos!" Sebastian yelled. He glared at the group and saw red.

Quentin Simmons emerged from behind the crowd with an enraged look on his face. "Sebastian Lynch! I never thought you’d stoop so low and take advantage of my sister in her sleep!"

Sebastian was breathing heavily. His muscles were on display, and anyone could see the strength behind them. He curled his hands into a fist and had a dark look in his eyes. "Get out!"

Quentin was scared shitless. Even so, he feigned bravado by puffing out his chest and saying, "Y—You have to take responsibility o—or else…"

"Or else what?" Sebastian growled. Under Sebastian’s murderous gaze, Quentin and the rest of the crowd left with their tails between their legs.

Sebastian was angry beyond words. He composed himself and turned to look at Tamara. The corners of his lips curled upward into a bloodthirsty smile. "This is what you were after? You slept with me so that you could earn yourself a title? Not in a million years! I would rather marry a beggar than wed a filthy bitch like you!"

Tamara was brought back to her senses by his roar. She felt something wet sliding down her face and realized she was crying.

Quentin, her own brother, had sent her into the lion’s den.

Tamara’s memories came back to her. Her family’s business was on the verge of bankruptcy. Her parents, not being able to handle the pressure, had decided to take their own lives. During their funeral, Tamara drank a cup of water that was given to her by Quentin and lost consciousness after that.

She never would have thought Quentin would push her under the bus!

Sebastian was glaring down at Tamara with a distasteful look in his eyes.

To think that he, the high and mighty Mr. Lynch of Londsville, would get tricked by a woman!

And it just had to happen on such a special day. Damn it!

The angry man slammed open the door and left. Tamara curled into a ball on the bed with tears streaming down her face. It took her some time before she got up.

However, pain coursed through her body and she almost fell.

She limped into the bathroom and scrubbed herself until her skin turned red. However, she couldn’t seem to wash away those disgusting marks.

Tamara bit her lip and left the hotel soon after. She arrived at a pharmacy to buy some birth control pills.

All of a sudden, a few bodyguards came out of nowhere and grabbed Tamara, forcing her into a car.
