Chapter 17

Parker arrived home with the briefcase filled with money, he was welcomed by his wife Juliet who couldn’t sleep and waited for him.

“How did it go?” She quickled asked him and he lifted the briefcase which she recognized and her heart sank, she knew this was why he was called, but now the deal was done, she felt weak.

She slowly sat on the sofa and he placed the briefcase on the table and sat down next to her, they stared at the briefcase in silence for a while before Juliet parted her lips to break the silence.

“What was his terms?” She immediately asked, turning her eyes to look at him and he placed the brown envelop on the table next to her.

“This is the contract.” He pointed and she glanced from it to him and shook her head, sitting up.

“I want you to say it to me,” Her eyes swept his face. “Tell me if my daughter is in good hands and if what is written in there would harm her.” She pointed at the document and he faced her.
