Chapter 5

Olivia and Chloe left Chloe's family home after spending some time with Chloe's parents.

It was late afternoon when they headed towards the bus station. “I didn't get to see your brother today?” Olivia asked Chloe.

“Oh, him?” Chloe turned her attention to Olivia. “He went hiking,” Olivia said nonchalantly, like none of her brother's business was hers.

“He still does that?” Olivia's eyes dilated, she could still remember that was one thing she admired about Chloe's brother, his hobby.

“Yes, but he has become so annoying lately,” Chloe frowned. “He does things in excess, most times he leaves for one of his travels without informing anyone, he causes numerous headaches for my parents, they worry about him when he is old enough, and it pisses me off most times since he doesn't even care for our parents.” Chloe was vexed as she said this.

Olivia drew a sharp breath. “That is too bad of him.” She now wished she had not brought the topic up, seeing how paranoid Chloe had become.

“If only he weren't my elder brother, I would have beat the hell out of him.” Chloe punched the air and they both chuckled.

Olivia walked to Chloe's back and began massaging her shoulder. “I should help you hit him instead of stressing my baby girl.”

Chloe smiled as she closed her eyes momentarily, loving the gentle massage, only that they were on the road.

“I am so glad to have you back.” Chloe turned and looked at Chloe, and Chloe pulled her into her embrace again, and they hugged for a while.

“Should I just marry you since I love you so much?” Olivia asked her and Chloe leaned back.

“I would truly like that, since I also love you so much.” She responded and they both chuckled out loud.

“Although I would love to, I still want to be your bridesmaid while you walk down the aisle,” Chloe told her, and Olivia pressed her lips together.

“I think you would get married before me, so I will be doing that for you instead.” She told Chloe, who giggled from ear to ear.

“Well, even if I was married first, I still would be your bridesmaid,” Chloe told her and they both grinned.

Olivia smiled as she raised her eyes and began daydreaming walking down the aisle to meet Lawrence, who would be standing at the altar waiting for her.

Chloe, who had been saying something, saw that Olivia was in a daze, she quickly waved her hand at Olivia's face, but she wasn't pulled out of her thoughts.

“Olivia!” She called out, and Olivia blinked and looked at Chloe.

“Huh?” Her lips parted.

“You must be having another episode of your fantasies again.” Chloe teased her and she chuckled.

“Sorry.” Olivia apologized and Chloe shook her head since she already knew this side of Olivia.

“So, where do we go first?” Olivia asked, and a smile spread through Chloe's lips.

“I know a place that would make you go gaga crazy, the waterfall Garden park!” Chloe exclaimed and Olivia grinned.

“Now you are getting me all excited.” Olivia smiled. “Then let's go because I can't wait!” She announced with a smile on her face, and they got into the bus that had just arrived.

Asher gently rubbed his eyes and put down the pen in his hand as he closed the last document he had to sign for the day.

He glanced at his wristwatch, and it was already past seven.

He glimpsed outside the French window to see it was already dark, he glanced at his cellphone to see there was no return call from Jane.

Furthermore, he exhaled sharply and pressed the intercom, and called in Roy.

“Sir,” Roy stepped close to Asher's desk.

Asher could see the odd expression on Roy's face. “Did you look into where Jane is at?” He asked, but Roy lowered his gaze and hesitated.

“Is she okay?” He questioned again as his eyebrows wrinkled in concern. “Speak up Roy!” Asher demanded.

Roy licked his lower lips and raised his eyes gently. “I did look into her whereabouts, she is fine, Sir,” Roy informed him.

Asher drew a sharp breath of relief, and then he thinks something sounds weird in how Roy said the words.

Asher quickly glanced up. “What else are you not telling me?” He questioned, and Roy quickly pressed his lips together. “I demand to know!” He raised his deep voice.

Roy was startled by the tone of Asher's words that he almost jumped. “I would rather not say it, but I think you deserve to know.” He said as his face turned pale.

“Know what?” Asher questioned with raised brows.

Roy took out his cell phone from his back pocket and played a video as he handed it over to Asher.

Asher glanced at Roy and then down at the cell phone as his eyes dilated to see the video of Jane and a young man he was not familiar with.

It was a video of them walking out of the mansion and Jane kissing him passionately.

“Who is he?!” Asher roared in anger as his blood boiled in his vein.

“He is Gary Dawson, a wealthy man who owned a couple of renowned restaurants in Australia and I had to look into it further, I found out he and Jane had been meeting for two years now,” Roy explained.

“What?!” Asher looked up as his eyes became aflame. “She has been meeting him up in secret, even with the wedding just a few weeks from now?” His heart shattered and his lips trembled.

Roy was speechless, as he never wanted to tell Mr. Asher this when he knew how Asher  loved Jane.

Asher placed the phone down on the table and got to his feet as he curled his hand into a fist, the color drained out of his face and a throbbing vein appeared in his neck.

He picked up his suit, and Roy feared what Mr. Asher might do. “What would you do?” He needed to know if he had to stop it.

Alan wore his coat and turned to Roy with cold eyes. “What else?” Asher's eyes clustered in flames. “She has shown how little she values me, she doesn't deserve to be my wife!” He roared and began to head to the door.

“Then what about the marriage?” Roy quickly asked, terrified of the decision Asher was taking now.

Asher pushed the office door open and headed towards the elevator. “I have to find a substitute.” Asher stepped into the elevator and the confused Roy rushed on with him, and Asher pressed the first-floor button.

“What do you mean, Mr. Asher, you can't decide currently, you have to think about it first, perhaps talk to Jane and hear her explanation.” Roy tried to talk sense into him.

Asher's eyes darkened as he turned sharply to Roy. “You watched the video, there is nothing to talk about!” He barked and turned to the elevator that beeped open.

“Mr. Asher!” Roy rushed after him as he stepped out of the elevator.

“Don't try to stop me, Roy, I will make the first girl I set my eyes on as soon as I step out of this company my wife.” He barked, and Roy stood there in shock as he blinked at the crazy word that had just come out of Asher's lips.

“What?” He blinked and by the time he was out of his daze, he discovered Asher was no longer there.

He turned his eyes at the exit. “Mr. Asher.” He rushed out after him, only to halt by the door, and gasped when he saw Asher's hand wrapped around the waist of a lady who stood looking up at him with a wide gaze.

“Do you have a boyfriend?” Asher's voice resounded in Olivia's ear as she looked up at his face.

Her lips parted and she gently nodded her head. “Yes, I do.” She said softly.

“Now we will have to find him a new girlfriend.” His voice was deep and it made her blink. “Because I want you.”
