As they walked out, there were cars lined up waiting for them.
“Alpha”. They all greeted and bowed immediately they set their eyes on Dario who just grunted a response.
His attention was nowhere else but on the female in his arms.
He shook his head like it would help him concentrate as he could see the mouth of his alphas moving but was hearing nothing.
All he was thinking of, was how well the little human female fit into his hands, how much he was enjoying being close to her, how soft her skin was under his fingers and had to mentally slap himself, because he couldn’t understand why he was acting like a teenager who had never seen a woman before.
His heart was beating fast, he was super aware of every breath she took, and the sparks. It felt like jolts of pleasure washing through him.
‘This is crazy’
‘I should kill her before she becomes my weakness’
“… and followed Alphas scent here”. The red-head Alpha Sina finished. All eyes focused on him as they were waiting for his response.
How does one respond to something they didn’t hear.
However, he had been a leader for so long and always knew the rights words to say, a way to appease his people.
“I found out that Alpha Jason, and Alpha Riley, had been organizing and attending auctions. These two alphas who are the oldests besides me, know very well how strongly I detest auctions and selling of beings, but still went ahead to do it under my nose, right on my territory. I would say they were begging for death, and I gave it to them. No one crosses me and gets away with it”. Dario said to them, the last sentence holding a warning, his voice loud and clear, his tone commanding and strong.
Everyone could already the feel the atmosphere change with that warning.
The answer seemed to both satisfy their curiosity and scare them at the same time.
They bowed again as a farewell and drove away. The long line of cars now remained two with each had drivers.
A smile broke out on James’ face and he sighed, happily entering into of the cars.
“This is why I love the Blackwood pack”. He sighed again, a dreamy smile playing on his lips.
“Oh please, it’s only just because your mate sent these cars”. The gamma Trent replies and Amelia, the commander snorts.
“So?”. He asks in a taunting manner and it was just a matter of time before they start their endless banter, when Dario sighed, and made a move to end it because once they start, they would not stop and he was not in the mood for that.
“Please shut up, both of you. I’m taking the second car. Is this one comfortable for you three?”. He asks them, silently hoping that didn’t join him, so that he could bask in the sweet scent of the human he was carrying.
The contrast of his feelings alarmed he himself.
Just one second ago, he wanted to kill her, now he wants to bathe in her scent.
‘Glad I’m not the only one obsessed’. His wolf said to him, and as he was about to flip him off, James answered.
“Yes, we’re fine”. James rushed to answer, seeing that Amelia was about to say something. He knew very well that Dario needed some time alone.
On getting his answer, Alpha Dario walked away from them, heading to the next car when he realized that the human female was not kicking and fighting anymore, and a little fear creeped in.
‘Is she dead?’ He asks himself, earning a chuckle from his wolf.
‘Of course not, you idiot. You know you can tell whether or not she’s dead from a kilometers away, Right?’
‘Right’. He replied only just remembering that he could hear her heartbeat from a mile away.
Just a couple minutes and she was already messing with his head.
He who could differentiate every one of his pack members heartbeats.
He never forgot things, even some things he wished he could forget, he never could.
He set her down gently after opening the car. The sight of her sleeping warms his heart again and his hunch that she was his mate only grew stronger as he knew he was not a man who is easily moved by anything, and all he wants to do right now is hold her again.
She looked so cute, despite being so dirty. Her pink lips were slightly parted as she slept, her long lashes still and her breath stable.
‘Even her breathing is adorable to me’. He thought to himself and groaned out loud, knowing that this little human was already having a hold on him.
Before getting to the pack house, he had mindlinked some women to attend to attend to her as soon as they arrived.
On getting to the pack house, the women attempted to carry her from the passenger seat as she was still sleeping, but immediately she was touched, she woke up startled, panicking and backing away from them.
“No! No! Leave me be!” She screamed as she backed away from the women who now wore startled expressions due to her outburst.
Seeing how startled she was, Dario mind linked them to leave and went ahead to pick her up expecting fierce resistance like the first time, but he carried her with ease and very little resistance. The small act making his heart do a little flip. He couldn’t resist the joy he felt at the thought that she felt safer with him.
On the other hand, she was panicking but he was more familiar than the rest.
All she had in her right now was fear, anger, and shame.
Fear because she was basically being kidnapped again.
Anger because once again the whole universe proved to be against her, as they released every one but her.
Shame because she was filthy.
In the cells, everyone was filthy and the filth wasn’t new to guards but with these new people, it’s different because they were all very clean and attractive, especially the man carrying her right now.
‘This man is a monster. I should be thinking of how to escape, not how to be clean, or how handsome he is’. She scolded herself as she began to brainstorm, knowing that escaping would be the hardest thing she had ever done.
She saw these men tear people limb from limb in front of her like they were tearing paper. They killed so many people too easily, and it would be a piece of cake to kill her, but she was not ready to die, not until she gets her revenge.
She was sold at 14 years by her aunt, whom she was just spending a 2 weeks vacation with, and no one bothered to look for her. Not her father, mother or older brother.
They all gave up on her, and made her suffer so much.
She thought of all she had been through, and what she might go through here again, as she was already expecting the worst, and a tear threatened to escape her eyes which she quickly blinked them away.
‘This world is really cruel to me’. She thought as she shook her head bitterly.
It had been a rule of hers to never shed a tear in front of her captors, and she had kept it that way for several years now.
‘Crying means you give them the reaction they want’. She thought as she remembered how her previous captors beat you until they saw you crying your eyes out. The satisfaction they got from it was so much that she vowed to never give it to them again.
She braced herself for whatever was to come as they entered the pack house.
Her mind had concluded that it was definitely nothing good, and accepted it.
‘The whole world hates me but I’m used to it. No need to cry over spilled milk’. She thought to herself again. A sigh almost escaping her lips at the thought, but instead a terrified scream came out.
‘It can’t be!’
A far fetched dream that was now her reality. Today was the day she would finalize her marriage with Dario, the love of her life. The man that found her chained in an underground auction. She chuckled a bit at the thought because what are the odds? As she sat up in bed, Marissa took a deep breath, letting the reality of the moment wash over her. Today, she would step into a new chapter of her life, one that she had envisioned countless times. Her heart raced as she thought about the ceremony, the vows, and the promises they would make to each other. She could already picture Dario standing at the altar, his warm smile lighting up the room, and she felt a rush of happiness. According to their tradition, only now can she finally move in with him in a house separate from the pack house. After a quick breakfast, Marissa slipped into her wedding dress, a beautiful blue dress that flowed elegantly to the floor. The intricate lace detailing and delicate beading sparkled as she
In the heart of a dark, enchanted forest, where the trees whispered secrets and the moonlight barely pierced through the thick canopy, a coven of witches gathered. Their leader, the old formidable sorceress, had been watching the unfolding romance between Alpha Dario and Marissa, the beautiful daughter of the Moonlight Tribe. The ongoing and impending wedding was the talk of the supernatural world, and while many were excited, the witches also were, but had a different plan in mind. Seraphina, a young witch with her long, flowing robes and hair as dark as midnight, stood before her sisters. “We shall send them a gift,” she declared, her voice a melodic blend of excitement and mischief. “But not just any gift. It must be something that embodies the essence of our power and serves as a reminder of the balance between love and fear.” The witches murmured in agreement, their eyes glinting with a mix of excitement and trepidation. They began to conjure, their hands weaving intricate pat
Alpha Dario stood at the edge of the forest, the crisp morning air wrapping around him like a familiar cloak. The sun filtered through the trees, casting dappled shadows on the ground, and he took a deep breath, letting the scents of pine and earth fill his lungs. Today was a significant day, one that would mark the beginning of a new chapter in his life. He was preparing for his wedding to Marissa, the woman who had captured his heart and soul. As the Alpha of his pack, Dario felt the weight of responsibility on his shoulders. His role was not just to lead but to protect, nurture, and provide for his people. Marissa had been a beacon of light in his life, her laughter echoing in his mind as he thought about the vows he would soon recite. They had faced numerous challenges together, and each trial had only strengthened their bond. Now, as he prepared for their union, he wanted to ensure that his vows reflected the depth of his love and commitment. He had spent several nights and
Claire stood at the mouth of the stream with a gentle smile on her face, her heart swelling with joy. Today was a day of celebration, a day to honor the love between her brother, Alpha Dario, and his mate, Marissa. The air was filled with the sweet scent of blooming jasmine, and the sound of laughter echoed through the woods as friends and family gathered to witness the union of two souls destined to be together. Claire had always looked up to Dario, her older brother, who had taken on the mantle of leadership in their pack with grace and strength. He was not only a fierce protector but also a caring brother, always ensuring that Claire felt loved and cherished. As she watched him interact with Marissa, Claire could see the deep bond they shared, a connection that seemed to radiate warmth and happiness. Marissa was a perfect match for Dario, complementing his strength with her kindness, compassion and even more strength. As the sun began to dip lower in the sky, and the woods qui
James sat quietly on the edge of his bed, staring at the wall as the soft light of the afternoon sun streamed through the window. It was a beautiful day, the kind that made everything seem vibrant and alive, but his mind was preoccupied with thoughts of the upcoming main wedding. Alpha Dario and Marissa were finally tying the knot, and the excitement in the air was palpable. Yet, amidst the joy, James felt a swell of emotions that he couldn’t quite put into words. As he reflected on the journey that had brought them to this moment, memories flooded back moments of laughter, struggles, and the unwavering bond that had formed between them. Dario had always been more than just a friend; he was a brother, a mentor, and the kind of leader who inspired those around him. Marissa, with her infectious laughter and kind heart, had somehow become a sister to him. Regardless of the fact that he was still scared of her. Their love story was one for the ages, a testament to what it meant to tru
Dario stood in front of the mirror, adjusting his tie with a mix of excitement and nervousness. The sunlight streamed through the window, casting a warm glow over the room, but it was the sight of Marissa that truly illuminated his heart. She was in the other room, finalizing her own preparations, and he could hear her soft laughter mingling with the bustling sounds of their wedding day. He took a moment to admire the suit she had picked out for him. It was tailored perfectly, accentuating his broad shoulders and lean physique. The deep navy blue fabric shimmered subtly, hinting at a sophisticated elegance that was both timeless and modern. Marissa had insisted on the color, believing it would complement her dress beautifully, and Dario couldn’t help but agree. It was a bold choice, one that spoke to their shared taste for the extraordinary. As he ran his fingers over the smooth fabric, memories flooded his mind. He recalled the day Marissa had dragged him to the suit shop, her ey
