Selena’s POV

I staggered to stand up from the grumpy blue eyed man but the more I tried the more I slipped back into his arm. The man kept hissing at my failed attempt, he shoved me to a side, stood up and started moving away, not caring about helping me off the floor.

No one was even looking my way, everyone was too busy to even notice a nobody like me fell down. Having no other choice I stood up slowly to avoid falling back again.

I took a look at my dress checking if it was torn or stained but fortunately for me it was good as new. I looked into the hall and saw that everyone was already sitting and the event for the day was about to start. The music was turned off making everywhere silent as ever, the chirping of the birds from the bush was the only sound in the hall. And it made me wonder who chose a damn forest for an event like this.
