Chapter 2

My room's window is closed, only the light in the lampshade gives a light to the paper where I'm sketching the shadow I saw last night. When I was done I pressed the pencil to my ear and watched my sketch over and over again. I was right, what I saw was a werewolf.  I stood up in the chair and turned on the computer, then I started again searching for an information about them.

I looked at my cellphone when it suddenly vibrated, it was Lara who's calling, since my eyes were still focused on the article I'm reading on the computer, I just turned it on over the loudspeaker, so that I can still here her without holding the phone.

"Aren't you boring?" she asked as I said, hello.

"Where will you invite me again to go?"  She laughed from the other line.

"Come with me and Leticia, let's have a drink in the new open night club near at the outside of our village. So, let's go?"

"I'm sorry Lara, but I'm busy, so I can't be with you now."

"What? Aside from wasting time in front of the computer, what else can you keep busy?" I gently touched my lips, and scratch the side of my forehead.

"It's not a waste of time Lara. It's very important to me."

"So for you, searching about werewolves was very important? That's crazy, Luna!" She laughed so hard, I just took a deep sighed. It's one of the reason why even they're my friend I don't want to make it a topic, they just think only as a craziness.

I was stunned to see a news article, which stated that there was a dead body found at the forest area near at Norsan Street, not that far here in our village. Gradually my eyes narrowed as I zoomed in the pictures presented under the news. Memories of my father's dead body flashed in my mind. I immediately took a sight on the clock, then I stand and opened my cabinet, almost in a rush while fixing my hunting garment on a not that big bag. From the table, before I finally left the room, I put the necklace with silver bullet pendant around my neck again.

I took a deep breath and tightened my grip on the bag I was carrying.  I put it down for a while and tied my hair, then fearlessly entered the forest.

Even though the moon is no longer in full, it still doesn't return to its normal size, so I decided not to use a flashlight. Every step I take I hear the sound of a dry leaves, I quickly rolled my eyes around, then I put down the bag I was carrying and started getting dressed.

I quickly turned my back when I heard something that is seemed to be a footsteps. I pulled out the silver knife in the back of my pocket. 

"Is there anyone here besides me?"  I asked, if I was just with Leticia and Lara, maybe they would burst out laughing.

I close my eyes firmly, when no one answered.  I continued to walk while looking around steadily and still feeling attentive, as sharp as the knife I was holding tightly.

"What a nice gift for this night!" The man said.

I stopped walking, my hair on my arms stood up. There's another step again that I heard behind me before I addressed who it was. It's a man, since I only have the moonlight that's why I can't see his face very well.

"Who are you? What are you doing here?" He laughed evilly, my hold on the knife tighten, I didn't feel good now, it seems like there's something wrong that'll going to happened.

"You? What is the possible reason, why a young lady's here at the middle of the night?" His voice deep, but every words he utter was like a thunder.

"I-I'm here to hunt a deer! Yes! I'm here for that." He laughed sarcastically.

"Is it too much for a hunter of a deer to wear like that?" He stepped forward, as the clouds move, causing for the moonlight to peep out on the some part of the forest.

"You can't fool me," He added, the exact time I saw the tatoo on his left arms, a symbol that he's in the rank of Beta in a werewolf packs.

I stared at his nails that suddenly fell out and became sharp. His eyes turned blue, it means that he already killed innocent human life and after that things went fast. My mouth became opened as I watched his full form. I prepared myself, as I heard his powerful howling, long and too wild.

I don't know what to feel, I can't deny that I'm scared, but seeing one of the creature that became the reason why I'm became an orphaned in my early age, made me feel so brave that I don't want this night to pass by without him lifeless.

We both stared at each other, seems like waiting who's the one who'll going to taka a move. He let another howl again. Its left foot retreated back, seemingly preparing to embark, then I saw his long and sharp fangs.

"I'm glad I've seen one of you,"  I said as if there was no fear in my entire system.

The surrounding became dark as I hovered, I saw the sky covered with thick clouds and the moon that was once bright was now behind it. When I focused my eyes on him again, he quickly left his place and rushed at me, but I immediately ran behind and kicked him, but it just didn't seem to hurt him even a little, despite of the special shoes that I was wearing.

I rubbed my neck, as we seemed to just in a cycle turning around and wait to see who would be the first to take a move again. I know to myself that my situation now is not easy as I imagined, because according to my research Beta werewolf are the second most powerful.

I was about to hit him the knife I'm holding when he jumped over me and the one to push me on the ground using his hard head, causing me to endure the pain from the bruises in my both elbow, but then I'll never give up, I want to kill that werewolf, I want a justice for my parent that the court can't give.

I can't still able to stand, I'm just looking at how the werewolf angrily and seems like too hungry looking at me. The moon showed on the dark sky I again, tears welled down into my face, I felt sorry for my parent if I'm going to die now but not even give them a revenge. I closed my eyes as the werewolf ran towards me aggressively.
