32 Forgiveness or Good-Bye

Sabrina’s POV

When I wake up, Ted is bent over my bed, his head near my leg, his butt in the chair next to me. I can see he showered since yesterday. My head is still hurting, likely will for a few days. I know I have at least a concussion.

I run my hand through his black hair and he wakes up.

“Hey, Baby,” He mumbles through his sleep.

“Hey, yourself. What did you get up to last night?” I ask.

Ted leans back and looks at me. “I had a meeting with the old man Waterman. The father of the Alpha who tried to hurt you. He was aware of the attack. I think he planned it himself. I don’t have proof, I’m looking for the proof, but it’s a feeling in my bones. He came with a typed treaty for me to sign. He had plans all laid out. No way he pulled that all together in a few hours. He also has no idea you are human.”

“Wouldn’t the fact that you don’t carry a mark prove that?” I ask, with a laugh.

Ted smiles. “Very logical, but no. Some Alphas aren’t marked if their mates are of a lower rank.”
