Chapter 7

June doubled her step when she footed out of the dancing room to conceal her teary face. She tried to stop herself from crying but she couldn’t help it. Tears flowed down her face like a fountain.

I have heard worse. That was what she used to console herself but it wasn’t working. It was as if it only triggered more tears from her eyes.

Lola materialized in her line of vision. “What’s the wrong babe?”

Oh fuck. This was what she hated. How was she supposed to explain that she was in tears because a douchebag insulted her?

“Nothing. I got something in my eyes.” She hurriedly cleaned her face with the back of her hand. Sniffing she turned to Lola. “Something entered my eyes.”

“Let me take a look.” Lola brought her hands close to her eyes

June tilted her face away from Lola’s touch. “It’s fine. I’ll wash it. And my face is kinda itchy too.” She said, scratching the skin close to her eyes.

“Sorry.” Lola pouted. Concern in her voice. “You should have it checked.”
