Aria's POV.

My gaze snapped back to the package and I reached for it, ripping it open.

It was the same exquisite style as before — an open back silk dress with thin straps in the deepest shade of blue that looked black to be paired with black stilettos and a diamond and sapphire jewelry set to match.

My stomach dropped at the sight. And for the next hours Daniel’s words weighted on me like I was drowning with and anchor wrapped around my waist, pulling me down until I submitted.

Eventually I gave in.

“Miss? We’ve arrived.” The chauffeur called out, holding the car door open, drawing my attention to him. It wasn’t Matthew, but a different one. I wonder what happened to him.

“Yes. Thank you.” I muttered, beaming him a distracted smile as I stepped out. Ignoring the sharp, curious stares and chatter, I took a glass of champagne from a passing waiter and began strolling the gallery while viewing the paintings with a bored air.

Awareness tingled my nape and without doubt, I knew he was watching me from a distance. Calm, calculating and sinful.

The scent of leather and amber replaced oxygen the moment he stood behind me, warm strong and powerful. “You look lovely as always, Aria.” He rumbled softly against my ear. A hot finger traced the diamond-sapphire necklace on my nape as his voice turned thoughtful, “ I wasn’t sure you’d show.”

I turned to meet his dark stare with an icy. smile. “Let’s just get this over with.”

Daniel studied my face for a moment before nodding. He slid a hand to rest at my exposed waist and I flinched at the touch as he led to a group of people. “Here we go, Aria. Smile and wave.” I urge mentally.

I ignored the hidden sneers and flirted shamelessly with everyone, getting lost in my character as Daniel’s eye candy. No one dared ask about the media scandal or my past, not with Daniel standing next to me. But I saw it in their eyes.

Eventually I left Daniel, taking another glass of champagne before wandering off to stare at the expensive canvases that looked ridiculous to me. Modern art is weird, honestly.

One of the guests moved next to me, staring at the art before us. “You think you’re special? You’re just his latest experiment. Soon he’ll get tired of you.”

I glanced at her with a confused frown. “I’m sorry, do I know you?”

A scornful smile stretched the other woman’s lips. “You don’t belong here, or by his side. So enjoy it while it lasts.” She concluded with a condescending smirk before strutting off.

“What the hell…” I scoffed bitterly, draining the last of the champagne before I did something horrible like smash the champagne flute against a painting that’s way above my tax bracket.

The woman’s perfume lingered long after she walked away, cloying like poison in the air. You don’t belong here. Her words scratched at my skin until I wanted to peel it off.

A warm large hand closed over my arm, and anxiety spiked my blood as I hastily glanced up to see Daniel’s calm, unreadable face. “Come with me.”

His hand slid from my arm and settled on my back as he led us to a secluded area with enough privacy. His hand fell away as he put a good distance between us. The air between us thick and uncomfortable.

“I was just called a slut by a total stranger,” I muttered, eyes fixed on the blank wall behind him. My voice sounded hollow, even to me. “That’s all anyone sees when they look at me now. Your son made sure of it.”

A muscle in his jaw ticked. “I didn’t know he’d do that. I’m so sorry.”

I let out a sharp laugh, one without humor. “A little late for apologies, don’t you think?” I inquired faintly, watching the older man standing just inches away. “Do you know why Ethan and I broke up?”

“Aria…”

“He cheated on me with my cousin then broke up over a call.” I continued detachedly with a faint smile, finally meeting his hardened expression. “But you already knew that, don’t you, Daniel?”

He took a couple of steps forward. “Aria, I —”

“No, not another step!” I hissed, glaring angrily at him. “I tried seducing you for revenge against Ethan. To make him feel how devastated and awful I felt, but I ended getting burnt in the process.” My voice broke as silent tears streamed freely down my cheeks.

Daniel was in front of me faster than I could blink, cupping my head in his large hands as his lips sealed over mine, licking my mouth open even as I remained frozen in shock in his arms.

Instincts and rage filled me as I struggled against him. Only for Daniel to pull me flush against him and deepen the kiss.

He tore his lips off mine, panting harshly. “Fuck, I’ve always wanted to do that. Let me in, sweetheart.”

The kiss this time was blinding, heated and filled with hunger, lust and gut-punching want. Daniel’s kisses possessed me in a way that wiped my head clean of all thoughts and emotions, breathing back life and hunger into my lungs.

He wasn’t just dangerous in daylight; he was devastating in the dark.

“Fuck, wait—” Daniel growled, nibbling at my neck, chasing shivers down my body and moans from my lips. “We can’t do this here, sweetheart.”

I whimpered as he pulled away from me and put much needed distance between us, eyeing me with reluctant hunger and want burning in his dark eyes. I felt hot all over and I needed him.

Daniel restrained the stark hunger on his face as he watched me. “I’m so sorry for everything. I sincerely didn’t know about Ethan’s plans and how badly he’d react to us being together.”

I slipped back the thin straps of my dress over my shoulders. “We aren’t together.” I grumbled.

Daniel shot me a knowing smile and I cursed inwardly.

“Whatever you say, sweetheart.” He cooed, stalking slowly back to trap me between him and a wall, leaving no space for escape. His hand snaked up to my throat and gripped lightly in casual dominance, his dark voice forbidden and sinful as he stared down at me as he whispered. "If you want me, Aria, you'll have to survive everything that comes with me."

His thumb dragged over my lower lip as his bottomless eyes swept up to meet mine, coaxing me into submission like that devil he was. “Can you do that?”

  • His To Ruin.    Good Girl.

Aria’s POV. Daniel slotted our lips together and licked my mouth open, clashing our tongues together in a heated kiss, his fingers curled at the base of my skull, holding me in place as his mouth devoured mine, leaving me no choice but to stand there and take it. Daniel kissed like he wanted to swallow me whole. Yet, despise the stark hunger in his kisses, I could still feel the iron-clad restraint he clamped on his urges. I wanted to claw it open and yell at him to unleash it on me. That darkness and lust he kept hidden. Daniel’s frantic hands slid sensually down my body, then reached down to hook on the back of my thighs before lifting me higher, pinning me against the door. I immediately wrapped my legs over his waist, forcing him harder against my body. Fuck, my cunt was basically weeping at this point. Daniel grinded his massive erection against, and we both groaned at the heated pleasures that had me clawing shamelessly against him. “God, fuck me. Please, Daniel, I can’t wai

  • His To Ruin.    Pinned.

Aria’s POV . My fingers couldn’t stop shaking no matter how hard I tried. Maybe it was the adrenaline from being caught by Daniel, I don’t know. I just couldn’t shake those images off my mind or Daniel’s sinister words. Or the shivers of fear racking my body as I stared at the ceiling of Daniel’s guestroom with sleep nowhere in sight. I had so many questions with no answers to them and Daniel wouldn’t tell me shit. That kiss we’d shared has been nothing more than a distraction. And it had worked… until it didn’t. I rubbed my face with shaky hands and exhaled roughly. “Fuck what do I do? I’m already in so fucking deep I can’t back down if I wanted.” I thought sleepily then pressed my eyes shut and opened them at the soft knock on the door. “Aria? Can I come in?” Daniel called out from behind the door. I sat up slowly, rubbing my sleepy eyes as I squinted at the bright morning light on my face with a curse.Another knock. “Aria?” “Uh…yeah.. Come on in.” I called out, scrambling to

  • His To Ruin.    Chains of Fire.

Maria's POV. The door noiselessly clicked open over my touch which surprised the living daylights out of me. One would think that with how Daniel made conscious elaborate efforts to hide this room behind wallpapers, paintings and locks, the door would have some sort of advanced lock system, but it didn’t . I guessed he was a bit old fashioned in that way. The secret room wasn’t anything my wild imagination thought it would be. It’s was really looked like a weird mix of a storage and a small library. Black boxes were propped in corners while bookshelves of black binders lined the walls of the small room. Aside from these, the room was rather empty. My breath caught at the sight. I should have turned around. Should have closed the door and pretended I’d never seen that painting. But curiosity had always been my fatal flaw.‎‎My fingers trembled as I approached a shelf, drawn to a black folder with a photograph sticking out. I quickly turned on my flashlight to see a man in an ex

  • His To Ruin.    The Forbidden Room.

Aria's POV. “Aria? Are you listening?” Daniel asked, snapping fingers in my face to get my attention. I started from my thoughts, blinking owlishly at him. “Yeah? Yes, I’m listening. Actually no, I’m not.” I muttered, deflating. “My head is just stuck in a weird place and it’s taking it’s toll on me.” I lied, meeting his concerned expression with a helpless look. I couldn’t risk him sniffing out what I knew or the fact that that was all that occupied my mind. Questions I didn’t have an answer too, but will, eventually. Daniel studied me quietly and I almost broke under his heavy stare. Whatever he wanted to ask was never spoken. He just blinked and said, “Ethan is secretly working with a known rival of mine.”The unspoken darkness in his voice finally snapped me from my thoughts. “What?” I whispered faintly, eyes widened in horror. “Why?”“To take me down. What else?” Daniel muttered bitterly, shrugging out of his coal black blazer and began unbuttoning his cuffs to roll them ove

  • His To Ruin.    Breaking Point.

Aria's POV. Every game has its breaking point, and I was about to discover mine. The fallout from Ethan’s public accusation in the board meeting and my eventual meltdown has been nothing short of disastrous. Despite Daniel’s efforts, accusations spread like wildfire. Gossip columns and blogs flooded with horrible, false accusations of me being a gold digging slut and Daniel’s new toy — because apparently, he’s had a rather colorful history with going after what he wanted, regardless of sex — while Ethan that vile bastard, was once again painted as the heartbroken wounded son. It was like we’ve gone back to the very beginning. Miranda, my boss, had given me leave to work from home as the constant paparazzi was a distraction neither of us could handle. My phone buzzed next to me and I glanced at it as I typed the document I needed to finish by tonight. It was Annette. Again. And again I ignored it just like I’ve been doing since that boardroom disaster. The phone rang insistentl

  • His To Ruin.    The Contract.

Aria's POV. I didn’t know where Daniel took me. My body hurt too much to care, so I focused on Daniel’s scent and the warmth of his arms around me on the entire ride. He hadn’t let me go since my near-death experience with his maniac son. The moment we arrived his estate, Daniel sent for his personal doctor who arrived ten minutes later to treat my bruises in record time. Luckily, that’s all the were. Bruises. I shuddered at what might have happened had Daniel not arrived when he did. “Can you talk to me?” Daniel asked softly, drawing my attention to where he stood before me in his massive study with the large polished oak desk between us. I sat on one of the soft chairs while Daniel remained standing. I looked away and said nothing. “Aria…” he began with a tight sigh. “What do you want me to say, Daniel? I almost died because of your fucking son.” I croaked, finally glaring at his unreadable face. “Or do I thank you for saving me in record time? Should I do that?”Daniel sighed

  • His To Ruin.    Ethan’s Descent.

Aria's POV. I’ve been stuck in cloud nine since that kiss with Daniel happened. It’s been a week since it then and I still felt the pressure of his lips on mine like he had just kissed me a minute ago. That impulsive kiss had stolen my breath and replaced my thoughts with Daniel Kane. It was crazy
