Cassie stood in the center of her small apartment, surrounded by the careful organization of her final moments there.

Her suitcases were packed, filled with neatly folded uniforms, personal belongings, and the keepsakes she had collected over the years.

The room smelled faintly of starch and polish, the scent of a soldier’s life... and motherly.

Her gaze lingered on the bed... plain, military-issued sheets perfectly tucked in... and on the small desk by the window, cluttered with farewell notes and mementos her comrades had slipped to her over the past week. It wasn’t much, but it had been her world for four years.

She inhaled deeply, holding her breath for a moment as if to etch the memory of it all into her soul.

And then she turned with a soft smile.

Standing by the door, grinning from ear to ear, was Emily... her daughter.

The little girl’s dark hair was tied up in a messy ponytail, and her small backpack was already slung over her shoulder, decorated with patches Cassie

  • I Married His Enemy: Return Of The Forgotten Princess    A Storm Brewing

The moment Veronica stormed out of Rafael’s office, the smile she had forced onto her lips crumbled into nothing but a bitter snarl. Rage bubbled inside her like boiling water, threatening to spill over and burn Cassie’s body. People moved aside instinctively from her way, the staff and junior actors who had grown accustomed to reading her moods. No one dared meet her eyes. They knew better. She stopped near the stairwell, gripping the railing with such force her knuckles went white. Rafael’s words replayed in her mind like a broken record, each one cutting deeper. 'Cassie is under my protection. If you so much as breathe the wrong way around her, I will personally make sure you regret it.' And worst of all — Remember who her backer is. Nikolai Rosewood. She shivered under such a warning. That name again. That man. Nikolai. Even Veronica, for all her arrogance, knew better than to cross Nikolai Rosewood. His reputation in both the business and underworld was legendary. Dan

Her smile faltered, replaced by a flicker of coldness in her eyes. "Cassie?" she repeated, her tone dripping with disdain. "Yes, Cassie," Rafael said sharply. "Don't play dumb. You practically carved daggers into her with your eyes when we passed you in the corridor. Don't think I missed it." Veronica stiffened, her hands clenching at her sides. "And so what if I did? Who is she to deserve such special treatment from you, Rafael? You paraded her through the building like she was royalty. Took her into the VIP training room like it was her birthright. What about the rest of us? What about me?" Rafael's jaw tightened. "You're one of my top actresses, Veronica. You've already proven yourself. You get privileges because you've earned them. But don't you dare think that gives you the right to look down on her." Her eyes flared. "So you admit it. She's... someone special." Rafael's gaze turned icy. "She's under my protection. That's all you need to know. And Veronica, trust me... If y

Rafael's office was nothing like Cassie had expected. When he guided her through the double doors, she almost stopped in her tracks. The room wasn't just an office - it looked like something from a luxury magazine. Especially the massive windows that offered a view of the bustling city below. A glass desk sat in the center, flanked by tall shelves filled with books, scripts, and awards. Behind it was a painting of a stormy sea that commanded dramatic and fierce attention, much like the man sitting beneath it. Cassie's lips parted slightly. "This is... breathtaking. Rafael, you work here every day?" Rafael tossed his blazer onto the back of his chair and leaned against the desk casually, his grin wide. "Beautiful, isn't it? I figured, if I'm going to suffer through paperwork and endless meetings, I might as well do it in style. That way, when I hate my life, I can at least admire the view." Cassie chuckled, walking further into the office. "You're unbelievable." "Unbelievab

Evan chuckled nervously. "Terrorized, sir? Who told you that if I ask?"Rafael waved a hand dramatically. "Oh, don't worry. I mean that in the most respectful, awe-inspiring way possible."Cassie shot him a look. "Rafael, you're making it sound like I tortured them.""You did make them sweat," Rafael teased. "If anyone asks, I was just here to witness greatness in action. And... to make sure they didn't spontaneously combust under your tutelage."The three actors laughed, though they were clearly relieved Rafael hadn't intervened further.Rafael glanced at the three, who straightened instinctively under his gaze. "Yeah? Did she make you cry?"Lila raised her hand sheepishly. "Uh... almost.""Then she did her job," Rafael said with a satisfied nod.Cassie shot him a glare. "That's not the point.""Relax, I'm kidding." Rafael walked closer, his expression softening as he looked at the trio. "You three are lucky, you know. Rooms like this? Training like this? Most people would kill for a

The hug lasted longer than Cassie expected. At first, she stiffened, unused to such a spontaneous display of affection. But then she relaxed, feeling the trembling gratitude in their arms, the unspoken "thank you" in their silence."Alright, alright," she chuckled, patting Lila's back. "You'll suffocate me if you keep squeezing like that."Evan immediately stepped back, his face red as he rubbed the back of his neck. "S-sorry! We just... we didn't know how else to thank you. Nobody ever... nobody's ever done this for us before."Daniel, usually the quietest, spoke with surprising firmness. "We mean it. You didn't have to help us. You could've ignored us like everyone else. But you didn't. That means everything.""I... I don't even know what to say," stammered Lila. "You... you really helped us, Miss Cassie. I've never had anyone explain acting like this before."Cassie smiled softly, brushing a damp strand of hair from her face. "Hey, don't thank me yet. You still have a lot to learn

Cassie tugged lightly at Rafael’s sleeve, her eyes flicking toward the rest of the auditorium. She leaned closer to Rafael and whispered, “Do you have a room I can use? Somewhere private. I don’t like how everyone’s staring at me… It’s distracting, and it’s not fair to them either.”Rafael, who had been glaring at the whispering actors like a hawk ready to swoop, softened when he saw the unease in her expression. His mischievous grin flickered across his face. “Oh, I see how it is. You don’t want an audience when you show off. Don’t worry, Cass, I’ve got just the place.”She raised an eyebrow. “It’s not about showing off. I just want to help them properly without making everyone else feel robbed.”Rafael studied her for a moment and then chuckled, shaking his head. “You know, most people in this industry fight tooth and nail for attention, and here you are, trying to run away from it. You’re something else, Cass.”He turned to the three actors, who were still reeling from meeting th
