My First Kiss

I'm supposed to be the villain. The sabotager. Not the cupid.

But here I am, making sure things go the same way they were in the book just so it could end.

Lucas Gray and his assistant, Alex were already gone after confirming things were going smoothly. The photoshoot was over and I was waiting for Kate to get changed… she had changed for the photoshoot… when the photographer walked up to me.

“Never thought that I would see you again, Crybaby.” He teased, flashing me that hot smile of his.

“It's Luna.” I corrected.

“So tell me, was I really right?” He asked and I raised my eyebrows.

“About what?” I asked although I knew what he was asking.

“Is it true that your groom ditched you on your wedding day?” He asked.

I rolled my eyes at him, “Yeah, shit happens.”

“Are you okay?” He asked, his face etched with genuine worry.

I shrugged.

It isn't my life. Adrian Johnson sure wasn't my groom. I'm just filling in for a character who abandoned her role. So why wouldn't I be okay? Unless I'm stuck here forever, then I won't be okay.

“Yeah.” I answer with a delicate shrug, “I guess I am.”

He gazed into my eyes as though he was trying to figure out whether or not I was lying. But damn… the way he looked at me made me feel butterflies in my stomach.

How do all hot men have such an effect on me?

Then Kate came out from the changing, breaking the tension.

“We have to go for lunch and get back to the office.” She said.

Yeah, I know.

In the novel, Liam Pierce suggests Kate and Luna dine with him, but Luna, out of jealousy, declines, knowing fully well that he had asked because Liam had his eyes on Kate.

“Did anyone say lunch?” Liam came out, fully dressed in baggy jeans, joggers, and white T-shirts. He still looked hot when covered.

Damn, I've got to stop complimenting on how hot these characters are!

“Yeah,” Kate answered shyly, tugging her hair behind her ears. “My friend and I were just about to get lunch.”

“I can take you out for lunch… if you don't mind.” He said and Kate's eyes sparkled.

“Really?” Kate squealed. “Oh my God, thank you so much, Liam.”

“But Liam, our schedule is packed.” Liam's manager said while scrolling through his tablet… what was his name again? Can't remember. “We've got another photoshoot, you have an interview with BBG, and also an endorsement deal with…”

“Reschedule,” Liam commanded.

His manager's eyes popped out in shock, “But Liam…”

“I said reschedule them.” He repeated.

“But Liam come on, be reasonable, we can't just reschedule…”

“I want to eat, Aiden,” Liam said. Ah yes, his name is Aiden. I remember now. “I'm hungry.”

“But you can eat on the way.” Aiden protested.

“I want a real meal, Aiden, and I'm getting it,” Liam said finally, then turned his attention to us. “Shall we, ladies?”

“Yes!” Kate squealed in excitement.

“Um… I guess I'll head back to the office,” I said. “You can come back to the office after you're done, Kate.”

Kate turned to me, “Wait, you're not coming?” She asked in surprise.

“Yeah, I got some things to do. Have fun.”

“Nuh-uh! You're coming with us!” Liam said and then grabbed my arm. The feel of his skin on mine sent a burning sensation through me.

“Wait…” I made to pull away but his grip was a bit too strong.

“Come on let's go.” He said to both Aiden and Kate and then began to pull me towards the exit; then he turned to the hot photographer who stood and watched us with a bland expression on his face. “See you later Ethan.”

Ethan? So that's his name. Ethan. I don't think there was any Ethan in the book. Or wait, was he introduced towards the end of the novel? But this is just the beginning.

Ugh! Thinking about it makes my head ache.

With Liam's grip on my arm, he led me down the hallway to the elevator.

“Will you let me go?” I fired at him and he instantly released me. He turned to smile at me but I glared at him.

I hate that he's changing the plot! I hate that I'm even here!

The elevator came and we got in. A few minutes later, we headed out to his vehicle. It was the type of bus celebrities transport in.

His driver was already waiting for him. Aiden's face was definitely not pleasant. I could tell he was still mad that Liam was not keeping to schedule.

I noticed some paparazzi taking shots of us. If this were real life, I would have minded because I don't want my name to be involved in a scandal.

These goddamn paparazzi! They always love twisting stories to fit their narrative.

But it wasn't, so I couldn't care less. It's a novel anyway.

We got into his vehicle and then he told his driver to drive us to the best restaurants he knew.

All through the drive Kate blabbered like a fan girl and took selfies of Luke in it. Truthfully, if this were real life, I'd have done the same.

Meeting some of your idols was a one-in-a-lifetime opportunity.

We finally arrived at the restaurant and the host directed us to the corner where we could have some privacy.

Liam tried to strike up a conversation with me but I always brushed him off. He should be talking to Kate, not me. I shouldn't be here in the first place!

I need to get out of here if I want things to go exactly the way they were in the novel.

As the waiter came over to take our order. I suddenly sprang to my feet, startling everyone.

“What’s the matter, Luna?” Kate asked with worry plastered across her face “Are you okay?”

“What's the matter?” Liam asked.

“I really need to go.” I said, stepping out, “I'll text you later, Kate!”

“Should I come along?” Kate yelled after me.

“No! I'll be fine!”

Then I ran out of the restaurant; once out on the road, I kept running till I was out of sighting distance.

Why do things have to be so complicated? Why can't the plot just follow through the way it actually was?

I'm supposed to make sure things don't go well for Kate, not make sure things DO go well!

For the umpteenth time, I want to go home!

I noticed how hungry I was. Everything here feels just like in real life. I feel pain, hunger, and anger; the people have a life of their own… even the world setting is beautiful.

This author sure has a beautiful imagination!

I searched for a restaurant so I could eat. I actually found one. I went in and then sat down.

A waiter came over and took my order. As I waited for the waiter to bring over my food, I heard a girl's yell and I snapped my head towards the direction where the scream came from.

A girl was standing in the middle of the restaurant, she was angrily staring down at her boyfriend... or whoever he was to her... who was still seated. From where I sat, I could see she was pretty with straight blonde hair, but at the moment, she looked pretty mad.

Was her boyfriend breaking up with her or something? The attention of every other person in the restaurant was on them.

“You can't just break up me!” The girl spat furiously, “You promised me you would marry me! This is so unacceptable!”

Relationship always drains me. That's why I haven't been in one since I was born. I haven't even had my first kiss yet.

I wonder if I'll ever get the perfect boyfriend and kiss him.

Then the guy the blonde girl was yelling at slowly stood up.

Wait… I recognize him! That's Christopher Barnes! The other male lead that Kate burst his tire this morning!

Then as if he knew I was there staring at him, he suddenly snapped his head towards me and then began to approach while the blonde girl still screamed at him on top of her lungs.

Wait, why is he suddenly coming here?

Then when he was within touching distance, he grabbed my arm and pulled me to my feet.

What he did next stunned me!

He cupped my face and then pressed his lips on mine.

My mind, brain, body, and soul went numb as I tried to decipher what was happening.

Wait, I'm being kissed right now. This is my first kiss… and my first kiss came from a fictional novel character!

What the fuck?
