Chapter 26

Alessia's POV

I calm myself because my body's tremors seem to have no intention of stopping. Many nurses came and looked at the child who was now lifeless. Everybody was terrified and at the same time, trying to calm down.

I retreated. "Wrap up the child and prepare to bury him. Also, inform his parents. Disinfect his bed." Calm down I promise. The nurses immediately obeyed because of what they had to do.

I retreated and walked away from the crowd. I came out of the isolation tent. I am praying hard silently that Stefano will arrive with the medicine in his hands. The infection could no longer wait without the medication. I'm afraid that the next attack will already cost hundreds of lives.

I had this big disappointment when I didn't see Stefano outside. The sentinels are guarding the tent with their lives and when they saw me, they bowed. I didn't bother answering them back.

"Get Stefano as soon as possible. The patients can no longer wait." I said to a sentinel next to me.
