Chapter 52 It's Your Lives We Want

It was obvious that the truck was targeted at her. Everly had no time to argue with Carson, and the two ran toward a place that the truck could not follow.

"I haven't earned enough money for Grandma. I can't just die here!" she thought.

The snow was still falling. The snowflakes fell onto them and melted away swiftly. The sound of the truck's engine faded into the distance, but they had not stopped. Both Carson and Everly knew that there was more to this and that they must leave.

"We are at...send people over right away!" Carson commanded after making a call.

However, just as they made a turn, a few people darted towards them from the direction ahead; their knives shone coldly under the lights.

The two turned and ran in the opposite direction. However, before they could go far, they were blocked. Meanwhile, the men from the first turn had already caught up to them.

"Keep running!" The leader of the gang sneered at them with his hand on the weapon.
