I was shocked when she slapped me. I would say that it was impressive.

This woman had been waking the feelings I never knew existed internally ever since I met her.

No woman in America had ever raised her voice or called me names but Lucille did and was doing more than that.

She was fearless and outspoken. Even when she's scared, she always controls her emotions and tries her best to make it unnoticeable. She had never looked weak to me.

As I drove home last night, her voice and statements kept ringing in my head.

My conscience pricked me so much that I felt like I owed her an apology. Well, it wasn't like it was ever going to happen. I can never beg anyone. Not her.

When I got home, I rushed upstairs and opened the room one after the other as if I was searching for something.

And yes, I was hoping to see her sleeping in one of the rooms. I guess she really meant her words and she'd left. My shoulder dropped, disappointed.
