Her hand flew to her stomach, and I rose in panic, " What is going on?" I asked and scooted closer to her, looking helplessly as she groaned in pain. "Talk to me. How are you feeling?" I asked.

Meg groaned in response and I looked around wondering where the guards were. Weren't they supposed to be watching over her? " I'm calling Mr. Knight now." I said, and she held my hand. " What now?" I asked in fear.

" Don't call him, I'll be fine. The baby kicks hard." She said as if it was a normal occurrence.

" You need to go to the hospital." I replied, and she shot me a pleading look. "Is your husband abusive?" I asked because her reason didn't make sense to me.
