Vivienne’s smile grew wider when she saw that Sophie had stopped talking.

“Anyway, Miss Sophie, I sincerely appreciate all that you have done for Cedric over the past three years. But now that I’m back, I hope that we can undo these mistakes as soon as possible—”

“So?” Sophie cut Vivienne off before she could finish her sentence. She straightened her tense back and said, “Miss Vivienne, you keep addressing me as Miss Sophie, but you seem to have forgotten that I’m still Cedric’s legal wife, so you should be addressing me as Mrs. Carlson instead. There’s another thing that you might not know very well. You’re fired.”

Sophie stepped forward and tugged gently on the work tag on Vivienne’s chest, causing the originally upright work tag to become tilted. Vivienne scowled as she asked, “What do you mean?”
