"Tristan? I think I spotted him during the last break," the little girl said, tilting her head as she pondered. Confirming her memory, she added, "Yes, it was during the last class break."

Sophie's eyes brightened. "Which direction did he go?"

"I don’t know. Actually, I saw him standing still, not walking. So I don’t know where he was heading," she replied earnestly, demonstrating her commitment to accuracy.

If Tristan was not moving, how could she know in which direction he would go?

Thankfully, Sophie was a mother and was not frustrated by the girl's literal thinking. She patiently asked, "Can you tell me where you last saw him standing?"

"Over by the big oak tree," the girl said while pointing.

Grateful, Sophie smiled and quickly headed to the indicated spot.

The area was quiet, surrounded by grass and trees, with a single path cutting through. She felt a surge of hope. 'Tristan must have gone in this direction.'
