Jeff seethed with anger, the intensity of his emotions threatening to shatter the very floor beneath him. He had humbled himself for a month, pleading with Sophie in the hope that Cedric would seize the opportunity to win her back.

However, Cedric's reckless involvement with Vivienne and her child felt like a deliberate affront to Jeff's wishes.

"Dad, remember that child is your great-grandson. You've longed for Cedric to have a child to cheer you up, and now that he's here, you should be happy," Melissa interjected, attempting to protect her son and acknowledge the child, further fueling Jeff's fury.

"My great-grandson can only come from Soph!" Jeff declared fiercely. "Cedric, sever ties with that woman now. I'll pay whatever it takes!"

For once, Jeff was willing to use his wealth to erase the problem.

"I can't agree to that, Grandfather," Cedric retorted, his expression cold. He briefly glanced at Sophie, who had silently entered the room. "I'm not paying them to leave."
