Dinner

"As I was saying, Nicholas, I'll give you a week to solve that problem. Not one more day. You know how I am about that." Mr. Miller gave his son a reproachful look. I had no idea that Mr. Miller was this demanding. I didn't know Nick much but I had heard he had brought the company to the top more than his father. And obviously there will be problems along the way, but deep down I knew that Nick would be able to solve them. It's just that apparently not even his own father trusts him.

"You've told me twice already, father," Nick replied, his attitude absolutely angry. But he held back. Dinner was proving a bit awkward. As we all ate, the three of us gave each other uncomfortable glances. Until Mr. Miller's stayed with me. I tensed at that moment.

"How did you tell me that you're calling?" Now his tone was calmer with me.

"Elizabeth Hills," I replied a little nervous. I was having dinner with three imposing men. I felt prey to them.
