Chapter 6

Author: Rich and Skinny
The three brothers of the Carter family all had displeasure written on their faces as they turned to look at Blaire.

Blaire forcibly suppressed her anger and asked in disbelief, "Why are you holding a party in this house?"

Anthony frowned and replied casually, "This house belongs to our family. Is there any problem if we hold a birthday party for Tammy here?"

Brandon's eyes were filled with indifference. "Blaire, this house will never be used in the future anyway. No matter who you choose to marry, we won't be coming home. It's better to make use of it now."

Cameron let out a sneer. "It's actually an honor for this house that we hold Tammy's birthday party here. Why are you feeling wronged?"

Tammy even walked up to Blaire holding a pile of gifts.

"Look, Ms. Presley. This is the custom-made dress Anthony gave me. There's only one in this world. Isn't it beautiful?

"This is the cruise ship Brandon gave me. And this is the manor that Cameron gave me. How about we go visit it sometime?"

She proudly showed them off, her eyes gleaming with excitement. "They've been so good to me. Not only did they give me so many gifts, but they also let me throw a party in this house. Since you're here, let's have fun together."

Blaire was so angry that she could barely keep her composure and shouted, "I've told you many times that I'm not going to marry any of you, and this is not the house for our wedding! You have no right to come in."

"Blaire, you're at it again. It's enough to put on a show once. Can you stop acting?"

"Only three of us in the Carter family are of marriageable age. If it's not one of us, who else could you marry?"

"Since you say it's not us, then call your marriage partner now. Let us see who it is."

While faced with the ridicule of the crowd, the veins on Blaire's forehead throbbed. Just then, her phone rang, and the caller was Matthew.

Her heart skipped a beat, and she spoke with reddened eyes. "Alright! You all want to know who my marriage partner is, right? He is calling now, and I'll tell you who he is."

With that, she turned her phone over and showed the screen to everyone. In an instant, nearly everyone in the villa gathered around her.

But three seconds later, everyone burst out laughing.

"Ms. Presley, aren't you going to show us your marriage partner? Why is your phone screen black?"

"Hahaha, it looks like you can't keep up the act and have messed it up."

Blaire was taken aback and quickly flipped the phone back. She pressed the buttons repeatedly, but it wouldn't turn on. The phone was out of battery.

She hurriedly went to charge her phone, but Anthony blocked her way at this moment. "Enough! Do you still want to embarrass yourself more?"

"I didn't…"

Before she could finish speaking, Brandon coldly interrupted. "Smash this house."

Upon receiving the order, several bodyguards in black stepped forward. Their expressions were cold as they began smashing the furniture and ornaments.

After a series of loud crashes, some onlooking scions became excited and wanted to join in.

"What are you doing? What right do you have to touch this place? Anthony, Brandon, Cameron, stop!" Blaire screamed and rushed over to stop them, but she was held back by bodyguards on both sides.

Tears streamed down her cheeks as she watched everything she had meticulously prepared being ruined in an instant. She was both furious and enraged, consumed by an overwhelming sense of despair.

Cameron scoffed. He wasn't flustered like before when he gazed at her teary, red eyes. "You don't actually think that we'll let you off again this time just because you cry, do you?

"This is the punishment for your lies. Be smart and stop playing hard to get."

Blaire felt extremely despondent as she watched the elegantly and warmly decorated villa being smashed into ruins.

The group of people came and departed just as noisily, leaving her alone in the wrecked villa.

She didn't know how much time had passed when she finally returned home like a wandering soul. After charging her phone and turning it on, she realized that Matthew had called her several times.

Once she regained her composure, she quickly called him back. In the few seconds of waiting for the call to connect, she was extremely nervous.

Matthew and she were from different generations. Although he was only five years older than she was, his status had created an invisible distance and a sense of reverence between them.

They rarely interacted before, so she only had a vague image of him.

The call never went through, and her nervousness gradually eased. But soon, he sent some messages to her.

"I'm in a meeting. It's not convenient to talk."

"I called you earlier to let you know I'm returning tomorrow. The Carter family will hold a banquet for me, and I'll announce our marriage at the banquet."

Cameron suddenly pulled out a pair of wedding rings and dropped to one knee before everyone."Don't listen to them, Blaire. I know you actually love me, right?"Marry me. I love you. I want to take care of you for the rest of my life. Let's start a life together. No more misunderstandings, okay?" he begged. The diamond ring sparkled even more brightly under the bar lights. His eyes were filled with nothing but sincerity and love."You like my movies, so I'll take you with me wherever I go to film. My fans are reasonable. They'll accept you. We can go public with our relationship, and you'll have everyone's blessing."Matthew's expression darkened as he watched the three of them challenge him right to his face. Jealousy burned deep inside him.At that moment, Blaire gripped Matthew's hand, letting him feel her warmth. She smiled at him as if to calm him down. Then, she turned back to Brandon and Cameron, her smile turning cold."Haven't I made myself clear? I'm happy with my li

Tammy panicked the moment she heard what Matthew said. She quickly fell to her knees, begging for mercy. "I'm sorry! I was wrong! Please don't send me to prison!"She knew that if Matthew wanted her gone—even if she had done nothing wrong—she would still end up behind bars. Not to mention, she really had committed so many offenses.Tammy kept sobbing. The lingering effects of the drug made her voice sound oddly seductive, but Matthew didn't even give her a glance. His attention remained on Blaire by his side."No. A person who does wrong must be punished," he said coldly, leaving no room for compromise. When he finished speaking, Tammy was taken away before she had another chance to apologize.Just then, Anthony, Brandon, and Cameron rushed over."Blaire, we got stuck in traffic and came a little late. Are you alright?"They all worried about Blaire.Blaire didn't look at them or say a word.Anthony didn't mind her coldness. He held out a bouquet of fresh roses."Blaire, let

Anthony saw the messages too. His face darkened, and there was a dangerous glint in his eyes.Cameron glanced at it and couldn't hold back his anger. He kicked Tammy in the chest."How dare you lay a finger on Blaire! You are about to learn how wrong you are!"With that, Anthony called in the bodyguards and had them take Tammy to Nightfall Bar."If she was going to drug Blaire, let her get a taste of the suffering!"Brandon's eyes flashed with fury, and he gritted his teeth. He ordered the bodyguards to take a stronger drug along.Blaire still went to the bar the next evening at six, even though she knew it was a trap. However, she came with Matthew."If anything happens later, stay close to me and protect me," she said nervously.Matthew gave a faint smile and nodded. "Alright. Don't worry. As long as I am here, you can do whatever you want."They headed for the private room Tammy had reserved, only to hear chaos inside. When they opened the door, Tammy was in the middle of a

Tammy bit her lip and stomped in frustration, her expression dark."Brandon, you said you didn't want to marry me, and I've already asked to cancel the engagement. What more do you want? I just want things to go back to the way they were."I know it was wrong to take credit for saving your lives. I've already been punished. Can you forgive me?" she pleaded. She raised her voice and shouted through the door, but Brandon gave no response. Before long, Anthony and Cameron came out, annoyed by the noise."What is all this racket?" Anthony asked, displeased.Tammy instantly softened her voice and pursed her lips pitifully. "I asked Brandon to help me apply the medicine, but he said no. Can you help me?"She looked at the two of them with pleading eyes.Cameron refused without a second thought. "No. If he won't do it, I won't either. Don't you have your own hands? Or a mirror, maybe?"Anthony coldly refused to help her as well.Tammy's expression froze for a moment. Then, she noti

Olivia cleared her throat and signaled everyone to quiet down. "I know how you treated Blaire. William and I saw it all. Matthew will deal with you, and we won't step in."But look what you've done to Tammy now. What about her reputation? What about the Carter name?"You said you liked her at first, and now you want to break off the engagement? I already made it public. I can't just take it back!"Unless the three of you find someone you truly want to marry. Otherwise, someone else will just end up getting hurt!"Right after she said this, Olivia stood up angrily and was about to leave.Matthew stepped forward and helped her, while Blaire followed close behind.Once they were gone, all the hope faded from Anthony's eyes."There is no chance anymore," he mumbled in disappointment.Brandon and Cameron stayed silent. After a long silence, Cameron clenched his fists and spoke hoarsely. "That can't be. Blaire chased after us for so long. How can she not like at least one of us?"S

The entire room fell silent as though the air had frozen.William and Olivia, seated in the center, looked furious. William slammed his cane against the floor, the sharp sound cutting through the silence and drawing all eyes to him."Anthony, Brandon, Cameron, explain yourselves. What on earth is going on?"With a crash, William threw his teacup to the floor, shattering it into pieces. At his words, they dropped to their knees. Their faces had gone pale, and it was clear they weren't in good shape either."Grandpa, it's my fault. I messed up, but I really don't want to marry Tammy. She lied to us. That's why we acted like we liked her and didn't marry Blaire—Aunt Blaire. But I've made up my mind now. I don't want to be stuck with someone like her. Please let me end the engagement!"Anthony spoke first, his voice firm.Brandon nodded immediately. "I feel the same way as Anthony. I never loved Tammy, and I never will. I'm not going to marry her.
