CHAPTER 3 A Bad Dream

  Sarah’s POV

But this? A human auction with me being the main attraction?! No, I couldn’t understand how that was fair, how I was deserving of such fate.

I thought things are bad until now. That some random men decided for my life. And I can do nothing, they are powerful enough to have authority over the people who could be able to help me and since my own father sells me out, what am I supposed to expect from total strangers?

I cry silently, not wanting to disturb the little company. There was no point in crying but I did. I cried for how things could have been. I cried for how helpless I was. But in the end, the result wouldn’t change.

  I have Lost Faith…

The "chief" dragged me out of the house while I was still crying and screaming. I made my voice heard but it was no use as I have expected it to not be. I tried to resist! I tried and I failed... miserably.

  Sarah: Dad PLEASE!

Dad: SHUT UP! For once you will be useful! You should be happy!

It was pointless, I knew it was. But I couldn't stop crying and begging the man to leave me alone. The instincts of survival were kicking in, only they weren’t enough to protect me, to get me out of that situation.

Of course, the man didn’t even bother. He casually dragged me to his car.

Chief: My girl I believe you are actually going to attract all the attention.

Between my sniffing, I managed to ask.

Sarah: What are they..... going to do to me?

He locked the car doors and started the engine.

  Chief: You really are clueless!

He smirks. A wicked smirk, as if he is enjoying my fear. He leans in my ear.

Chief: They are going to have some fun with you. And I guarantee there are going to be a lot of candidates!

My whole body shivered as I started to understand what was going to happen to me.

Chief: Now sleep. You should be well rested.

  Sarah: Wha—

I don't have time to ask, all I feel is a needle piercing my neck. The pain is stinging at the moment but in the next second my muscles relax and the pain is replaced by almost pleasant dizziness as if I am forced to fall asleep. And I do. Everything around me turns black as I lose track of time I drift into a sleep with the hope that I will wake up and everything is going to be only a bad dream!

  …

  - Meanwhile -

Michael Tenner: Son, are you ready for tonight?

  Damon Tenner: The auction?

Damon was suffocating inside out. If you saw him on the road you’d be mesmerized by how handsome and attractive that man was. His hair was dark, thick, and brushed carefully in the back, he was wearing a tight professional consisting of a handmade pair of pants and a cotton shirt. His look would complete the Armani pair of black leather shoes. But he was nothing like his exterior. Yes, he was a businessman and he knew that in order to build an empire you’d have to get your hands dirty, but he always put limits, to himself and others. That auction was above him and everything he thought to be ethical.

Michael: Yes. I believe we both need to attend.

Damon: Who organised it this time?

  Michael: ...

  Damon: It's him, isn't he?

Michael: Damon, we are all on the same page. We are friends and partners. Don't forget that.

The younger man stood up and slammed both of his hands at the desk in front of him. He couldn’t understand how his father was still civilised with the man he considered family but betrayed him in the worst way!

His eyes reflected nothing but blinding anger.

Damon: Why do we have to go?

The older man remained calm and collected only taking in his son’s reactions.

Michael: That's business, son. You know it. I really can't understand what happened between the two of you. You used to be like brothers!

Damon: That's right. Used to be.

Michael: Just come. It won't be the first time anyway.

Damon: I will. But this time is going to be the last.

He never understood why they had to be involved in these kinds of activities but he played along. This time he would go. For it to be the last and for it to change things. His motives were very different from his father’s but he didn’t need to know. Damon knew how to play and when to reveal his card and it wasn’t about time…not just yet.

  Sarah’s POV

I wake up in an unknown room. My head hurts but I manage to sit up. I look around me trying to understand where I am.

  Sarah: What is this place?

The answer was meant for me, but I get an answer from someone else, one man that I had hoped to be a creation of my imagination.

Chief: The sleeping beauty is up.

The cruel man appears before my terrified eyes, still on his work suit with that wicked smirk on his face.

  Sarah: Where am I

Chief: Let's just say the preparation room.

  Sarah: The preparation room?

Chief: You are going to have an audience dear. You need to look at the part.

I feel sick to my stomach at his apathy and try not to vomit from disgust at the things he’d think of doing to me.

  Chief: Now wear that.

He throws to the ground a piece of black see-through underwear that leaves me as exposed as I would be naked.

  Sarah: What?

Chief: Wear it, girl! Or I'll make you!

He is getting angry and I pick up the piece of fabric from the ground only for him to nod satisfied. He leaves the room locking the door behind me.

I look at the piece of clothing left in my hands still not understanding how the hell I ended up in this situation.

I want to cry but I feel like there are no tears left... it's pointless trying to avoid that...I just have to accept it.
