Chapter 9 I’m Confused

A bead of blood appeared on Andrea’s finger as she picked up the broken ceramics and wasted food. She continued to stare at it, wondering why she didn’t feel the pain, until it trickled down.

But then, why did her chest start to tighten? Why were the tears that threatened to spill now racing down her cheeks? Andrea couldn’t help but replay what happened earlier.

“It’s better if you don’t wait for him tonight.” Robert’s advice would have been enough for her to put everything she prepared away and try surprising Sebastian again tomorrow. “Oh, okay.”

But the assistant just had to break her heart.

“He’s now-” Robert sighed, looking for words to soften the blow, “Lilith is back, Miss Andrea.” They both knew no words can lessen the impact it had on her.
