Fall in Love With You(2)

6

So I became a major shareholder in Jaiden's company.

There was no need for me to worry about the tedious procedures. A week after signing the contract, Jaiden put all the completed formalities on my desk.

"What do you think, Shirley? Do you like it?" Jaiden showed me the office he had arranged for me for several days.

It was my favorite single-color style, simple and elegant.

I nodded, but my gaze fixed on the small table at the door. "What do you mean? Is it prepared for my future secretary?"

"This is for me," replied Jaiden naturally.

I leaned against the desk and sized him up with my arms crossed over my chest. "What do you mean by sitting in my office, Mr. Cooper?"

All of a sudden, Jaiden bent over and leaned against me. He looked at me with his deep eyes. "Save time. It's easy for us to have discussions."

I was speechless.

The sun shone on the two seemingly intertwined shadows on the ground.

At one glance, I took a step back immediately.

I felt a little hot.

"You're right. We must get the coastal project," I replied.

Fortunately, when it came to business, Jaiden looked serious. "Cooper Group will also participate in this bidding."

"Are they enemies or friends?" I raised my eyebrows.

"Friends," replied Jaiden firmly.

I didn't understand why Jaiden didn't participate in the bidding in the name of his own company, but he must have had his own reason.

In the following days...

Jaiden hired some experienced and capable employees.

After more than half a month's preparation, our bidding proposal was beginning to take shape.

In the past half a month, Jaiden always kept me company. He picked me up and sent me home. Besides, he also prepared breakfast, lunch, and dinner for me, which made me gain some weight.

Jim also quit his previous job and came to work with me. He couldn't help but gossip. "Shirley, does Mr. Cooper have a crush on you?"

"Have you finished your work?" I glanced at Jim, but my tone was calm.

During this period of time, there had been a lot of gossip about Jaiden and me in the company, but now I didn't take it seriously.

"When I had a chit-chat with my colleagues the other day, I found that most of them were senior employees of Cooper Group. They have been poached by Mr. Cooper with high salaries."

No wonder those employees were so capable.

"Stop gossiping. Deal with this again." I looked calm and pointed at a random place, but my mind went blank when I heard this.

Later...

The two companies entered the final bidding at the same time.

"Shirley, you can think about what you would like to have for dinner tonight," said Jaiden carelessly. Only I knew he was sure to win.

I looked at him and said nothing.

I heard that Melissa had spent a lot of money during this period of time. Everything was bought according to my standards.

I spent money because I could earn it myself, but she could only live off Baron's past gains.

When we were talking, Melissa walked over in high heels. She looked proud and arrogant.

When she saw me, she snorted coldly and raised her hand to show the diamond ring inadvertently.

Jaiden sneered and said, "Such an ignorant idiot."

I smiled and said, "You can say that again."

Jaiden was right. He had a good eye.

The diamond ring on Melissa's ring finger was large, but its value was definitely not high.

I guessed that Baron didn't have much money left and bought this ring to fool Melissa.

Obviously, Melissa heard our conversation. She stood in front of me and said, "I didn't expect you to be connected with Cooper Group as soon as you left."

I sneered in my heart and kept Jaiden behind me with an indifferent expression. "Why did Baron bring you out today to make a fool of yourself?"

"Few people know me here, but many know you. You set yourself against your former boss a month later. Who dares to cooperate with you in the future?" Melissa sneered.

Melissa was smarter than before. It seemed that she had seen much of the world with Baron these days.

But I was amused by her words.

"It's you who are against the rules. Why doesn't anyone dare to cooperate with me? If everyone knows what Baron did, they may praise me for not tearing you two into pieces."

I closed the contract in front of Melissa and said casually, "Melissa, you'd better understand that it was me who dumped Baron. You just get the man I don't want. Don't be too arrogant."

With a livid face, Melissa left. Jaiden took out the contract from my hand and said, "Shirley, you played a good trick."

I glanced at him. That was right. I deliberately opened the contract just now to let Melissa see my bidding price.

I didn't expect Jaiden to see through my little trick.

I asked him with a smile, "Do you think Melissa is as smart as you?"

Of course, she wasn't. What Melissa was capable of was stealing others' boyfriends.

The base price of the bids from different companies was announced. The price Melissa saw from me accidentally replaced their original one.

It was more than 150 thousand dollars lower than the base price I offered.

"She is really brainless."

Melissa couldn't even tell such a trick, and I completely lost my interest in teasing her.

There was no need to see the result. We were sure to win. Jaiden and I left the venue in advance.

I got in the car, and so did Jaiden.

"Don't rush home. I have a surprise for you."

I didn't bother to talk to him.

So I drove into a new neighborhood according to the address he provided.

This was the most popular neighborhood in the city recently. It was in a nice location, and the people who could afford an apartment here were either rich or powerful.

"You bought a new apartment here?" I stood on the top floor and looked down. I could even see our company.

It was close to the company, so it should be more convenient to live here.

"This is for you."

I looked back at Jaiden in surprise. "Why did you give me the apartment?"

"This is the employee benefit. You have worked so hard for more than a month and helped me win the coastal project. Of course, I will reward you."

Jaiden could always find a reason for me to accept it comfortably. He looked harmless but racked his brain to make me happy.

"It turns out that your employees can enjoy such a good benefit. Then how about the people you hired with a high salary? Do they also have an apartment?" I teased him.

"Of course not, only you," said Jaiden seriously.

I saw myself in a daze in Jaiden's eyes.

I couldn't deny it.

Just now, my heart skipped a beat.

Jaiden seemed to have sensed my discomfort and said in a frivolous tone, "Shirley, you can feel free living here. I'm just living next door."

After what happened last time, Borya had been ailing. Many capable employees even came to me through Jim in a low-key way.

I knew these people very well before. Without any hesitation, I directly recruited them.

For such an arrangement, Jaiden only said that he trusted me.

The people he brought with him from Cooper Group gradually resigned and returned to Cooper Group.

In fact, Sunton became mine.

Since the coastal project started, we had earned a huge profit. Sunton was growing stronger and stronger than Borya at its peak.

As soon as the car stopped, I saw Baron squatting at the door and smoking.

He was much thinner than before. He had probably been sucked dry by Melissa, and his face was deathly pale.

Seeing me get out of the car, Baron knelt on the ground and cried bitterly, "Shirley, something happened to Borya. It is going to go bankrupt. This company is also the fruit of our efforts. As long as you come back, you will definitely help Borya make it through."

Of course, I could help Borya make it through, but I didn't want to.

I had been working hard for this half a year in order to watch it collapse one day and make Baron suffer.

The point was that Baron didn't know that the person who really destroyed Borya was standing in front of him.

I had racked my brain to destroy Borya. How could I help him make it through?

"Baron, isn't Melissa the boss's wife of Borya? Why do you beg me? That's the good life you have been longing for."

About a week later, Jim told me the news that I had already figured out.

"Melissa ran away. Before she left, she even sold the shares Baron gave her at a low price."

In other words, Baron was completely a loser.

I wanted to laugh, but I felt it was meaningless.

As a rival, Baron didn't even have the ability to struggle in the second rounds. It was really boring.

He was not qualified to be my rival, but he made his presence felt like my ex-boyfriend.

Now, he was down and out.

Baron had been in the abyss of despair. Even though I was indifferent, he was still struggling to beg me. "Shirley, I beg you. Only you can give me a way out."

He really knew how to flatter me as if I was the savior.

"I know you are capable. You can do anything, let alone help me make a comeback!"

Words failed me.

Huh!

I was about to refuse him.

However, I looked at the man in front of me carefully again.

We had known each other for so many years, and I knew Baron very well.

I certainly knew whether he was lying or not.

This time, he was obviously in a panic.

Although I felt disgusted, I still calmed him down.

"Well, it's too late today. I'm also tired. Let's meet in the company tomorrow."

Baron didn't understand what I meant, so he had to ask me carefully.

"Shall we meet in Borya?"

"Of course. I am going to have a look."

I smiled charmingly and even waved goodbye to Baron.

It seemed that Baron had caught a life-saving straw, and there was finally a little joy on his face.

"Okay. See you tomorrow."

He ran away merrily.

I rolled my eyes and shook my head. I didn't know why I fell in love with him, which was a stain in my life.

When I turned around again, I saw a familiar figure standing in a corner in front of me.

It was Jaiden.
