CHAPTER 10 – Danger (Part 1)

Aria

I left the dining room, haunted by the sight of Lea next to Daniel. I could get used to anything but that.

“Alicia, Alicia, you will pay for this once I return. That’s a promise,” I growled inwardly on my way back to the kitchen.

“Maria, I will shower if you don’t need me. I stink,” I tried to look carefree because Maria had been watching me closely after the incident with Daniel.

“Sure, my child. You can leave and take the rest of the day off. You look pale,” Maria whispered, and my heart melted at the motherly care she showed me.

I used the backdoor to leave the place, not wanting to face Daniel again. I was mad at him.

Why was he resisting the attraction between us? I knew he was attracted to me. I felt it the moment he pressed me to the wall. At other times, he would have made love to me like crazy.

And the looks he gave me! I could feel his eyes piercing my skin when I entered the dining room. I served Andy, knowing Daniel had his eyes on me the entire time and feared that he could hear my rebellious heart throbbing and notice my trembling hands. It took much effort to squeeze my legs tight and not make my arousal public. I served Andy as fast as possible to save myself from the torture.

I entered my house and rushed to the bathroom. I stripped my clothes off, filled the bathtub with water, and used my wild lilies’ essential oils. I needed some time to myself. I had to release my oppressed arousal somehow, or I would go crazy.

Closing my eyes, I let my fingers travel down my pu.ssy imagining Daniel’s hands touching my body. In my imagination, he was touching my sensitive area, torturing me. I touched my hardened nip.ples with my free hand and played with them, whereas my fingers down there had me on the edge of my first orga.sm as an Omega with no mate to play with. I moaned with pleasure as my body jerked at the intense feeling of release and the bathwater splashed onto the dry floor, making the place a mess.

I left the bathroom feeling relaxed. My only worry was cleaning the place before Valeria arrived. And I did it just in time. Valeria entered the house just as I finished mopping the bathroom floor.

“Hey Aria, are you feeling better?” she asked and I smiled.

“A lot better, thank you.”

“Aria, why did Alpha Daniel treat you like that? He scared the shit out of me, you know. I thought he was going to kill you,” Valeria whispered, touching my hand and the memory of Daniel attacking me like that came to mind and took my breath away.

“I don’t know, Val. I will go for a walk. I need to clear my head,” I said. I picked up a pair of tight black sports leggings and a crop top and tied my hair in a ponytail. I intended to walk and then take a run out of everyone’s sight. Somehow, I needed to eliminate my anger at Daniel’s abnormal behaviour.

“You find his reaction abnormal because you know how Daniel was in the past. For Daniel, this behaviour is normal since he already has a girlfriend and you are a disturbing Omega who endangers his relationship with Lea. Don’t you forget that.” Tania was the voice of reason once more.

“I know, Tania. It’s just too hard to accept. What can I do?” I replied and my wolf whined inside my head.

“Take a run as you planned. That would help. Unfortunately, I cannot shift yet. We must hide my true identity. I hope I can soon take a run,” Tania continued.

“Soon, Tania, I promise!” I told my wolf and left the house.

I took the road leading to the river near the pack. There was a path filled with trees and flowers. It was the same path Daniel and I used to take long walks in the moonlight.

I had to walk past the training grounds where the warriors practised to get to the path. Daniel was there, sparring with Alex, his Beta. I knew they would practise as if in an actual battle, but Daniel was way too aggressive toward Alex who was trying to defend himself with a confused look.

I walked past them trying to avoid eye contact with Daniel who had noticed my presence. I left the area with long strides, feeling his eyes burning holes in my bare skin.

Soon, I was out of range and started running. I ran as if my life depended on it. I needed to let off some steam. Daniel’s presence affected me. When I got to the lake, I stopped running. As I sat on the grass, the sun’s rays played tricks on the crystal water. I looked around and there was no one in sight. I lay my body on the fresh grass and closed my eyes, enjoying the serenity. The only sound was a bird singing. In no time, I drifted to sleep with its melodic lullaby.

I woke up to the sound of crying. Who was it? No, it wasn’t just one. There were three different childish voices and all of them were crying. What happened? I stood up abruptly and ran towards the sound of crying.

Deeper into the forest, I found two pups around Andy’s age, crying. Where had the third one gone?

I rushed to them and checked if they were hurt.

“What happened?’ I asked, checking their tiny bodies for wounds.

“Andy. Two rogues appeared and took Andy away,” one of them said between the sobs.

“What? Which way did they go?” I asked and the boy showed me.

“You go back and tell Alpha Daniel. He is at the training grounds. Ask him to come this way,” I told the boy and ran like the wind. The rogues couldn’t have gone far.

I spotted them at the pack border, one of them holding a sleeping Andy in his arms. What made them so confident to walk in their human forms?

“Hurry man. Erick said the car was waiting for us. Let’s move before the other kids tell anyone what happened.”

“I told you to kill them but you wouldn’t listen,” the one holding Andy replied, “Don’t worry, we are close,” he continued.

“Not so fast, boys,” I called out, rushing closer and taking a fighting stance. I could not shift to Tania’s form, which might be a problem.

“Not with these two, sweetie. Remember how you trained all those years. Your skills are still there. Just use them,” Tania comforted me.

“Look, a chick is trying to stop us,” the one holding Andy laughed, showing his rotten teeth.

“What makes you think you can stop us, bitch?” the other one said and attacked me, not even attempting to shift into his wolf.

I was ready for him. He launched himself towards me with his right fist ready to strike. I sidestepped his body, ducked under his arm, bounced up again, and spun around. He stopped short on stiff legs and whipped back toward me, angry that he missed me.

“What the hell, bitch?” he called angrily.

He swung with his right. I sidestepped, ducked, and we were back where we started. But the ugly ba.stard was breathing much heavier than I was. He came at me again, using the same tactic. This time I crashed an elbow into his side as I spun under his arm. He bounced straight off of locked knees and came right back at me. I dodged away again and felt the breeze as his fist passed an inch above my head.

“Time to finish this,” I thought, landing a sidekick to his jaw and sending him flying away onto the solid ground. His head hit a rock nearby and he lay there unconscious.

His accomplice placed Andy on the ground and surged through the air at me. I dodged left and jabbed my elbow into his face. He connected with his left hand and knocked me sideways like I weighed nothing. I went down on one knee and got back up just in time to swing around with his next crazy lunge. His fist missed my gut by a quarter-inch, and its wild momentum pulled him past me and down, putting the side of his head right in line for a left hook. My fist crashed into his ear and he staggered back and I followed up with a right to his jaw.
