Chapter 20: Redemption

“We will not be threatened into silence,” Joyce Banks said to the interviewer. “My daughter must get justice. The Beaumonts must pay for causing her death. She didn't deserve that.”

“What do you want them to do for you?” The interviewer asked calmly.

“I want compensation. Kendra was the breadwinner of our family. Her father has been terminally ill for years, her brother has been in and out of rehab and she was the one paying for that.”

“I can’t work as much as I used to do because of my frail health,” Joyce continued. “Kendra provided for all of us and we never lacked whatever we wanted. Now, she’s gone. The least Kane Beaumont can do is to compensate us accordingly for our loss!”

“Please, turn that thing off,” Elsie said distastefully.

Lillian picked up the TV remote and switched off the 75-inch HD screen. She too was tired of listening to Joyce’s endless ranting.
