Knight Mansion

Alina was busy with the kitchen stuff and Rose was playing in the living room. She was coming to Alina after every few minutes and asking her the same questions.

"Mom, when will Dad be back? And when will we be going out?"

Being tired of answering her, Alina called Ace.

Ace attended the call and before he could say something, Alina asked her, "When are you coming back? Your daughter is asking me about it every few minutes for a while."

Not getting her, Ace got worried and questioned her back, "Why? What happened? Is Rose alright?"

"Yeah, everything is alright. You forgot! We are supposed to take her out today. That's why she is asking."

Hearing Alina, he got relaxed and spoke up, "Oh. Yeah. It got out of my mind. I was busy with meetings. But I am almost done for today. It's now 1 PM, right? I will be home by 2."

"Okay. Drive safely. Bye." saying this, Alina cut off the line and found Rose looking at her hopefully.

"Your Dad is coming back soon, sweetie."

Hearing Alina, Rose gave her a toothy smile and got back to living room while jumping.

Kathleen's P.O.V.

Entering my house, I went to my room directly and took a warm shower.

When I was done, I got downstairs.

I entered the kitchen to make some snacks but seeing me there, Mary asked me to take my meal first.

I took my meal and started preparing some snacks and Mary asked me, "Are you going to the park today?"

I happily nodded and Mary kept helping me with preparing snacks.

When I was done, it was almost 4:30. I asked Mary to pack the snacks and went to my room. After getting freshen up, I got ready and got downstairs.

Taking the packet of snacks, I got out of my house and forwarded towards the park happily.

Alina's P.O.V..

When I was done with cooking, I made Rose bathe. Then I tried to make her take her lunch but all she kept insisting on eating with Ace.

It was almost 2 but Ace wasn't home yet. After uncle, he has been handling two companies which made him very busy lately.

When Ace got home, it was almost 2:30. Rose went running to him and he took her in his arms leaving the bag to me.

Though Ace earlier looked all exhausted but having Rose in his arms, he smiled warmly as if he was totally energetic already.

He asked Rose, "Have you had your lunch, princess?"

Rose kept shaking her head as she said, "No. I will have with you."

Hearing her, Ace looked at me and I spoke up, "I tried but she insisted on taking lunch with you."

Ace looked back at Rose and said, "Just give me 10 mins, Princess. I will take a quick shower and come back to take lunch with you."

When Rose replied with a smile, "Okay Dad.", Ace put her down and taking bag from me, he hurried to upstairs.

Rose and me sat on the dining table and kept waiting for him. Ace really loves us very much. I could feel that. When Ethan uncle asked me to marry Ace, I wasn't sure what to do.

Our marriage was fixed by our parents long back. But now I feel the decision of marrying him was the best decision.

Ace got back to dining table and started feeding Rose. After taking few spoonfuls from him, Rose took the spoon from his hand and said, "You eat Dad. I will eat by myself now. Or we will be getting late."

Ace started eating and asked her, "Late for what, Princess?"

Hearing him, Rose pouted innocently.

Suppressing the laughter, I spoke up, "After lunch, you will sleep for 1 hour and then we will go out."

Rose looked at Ace hopefully but only to get the same answer, "Right."

Rose looked disappointed. To convince her, Ace spoke up again while trying to make a tired expression, "Princess, you know I had to attend in three meetings today. And now I am very tired."

Hearing that, Rose said, "Dad, you should rest now then. We will go some time later."

Ace smiled looking at her concerned daughter. After lunch, we rest for sometime but without sleeping, Rose kept looking at the clock.

I called Adrian to check if had taken his breakfast and told him that we were going outside.

Hearing that, he said happily, "Great. You take rest for a while then. I got to go to campus. Take care. Bye."

I cut off the line saying, "You too take care. Bye." and looked at Rose who was still looking at the clock.

Seeing that, Ace looked at me hopefully and I agreed with a sigh and looking at Rose, I spoke up, "Let's get ready now."

As soon as I said that, Rose jumped out of the bed as she happily uttered, "Okay."

We both also got down from bed. I got her ready and after saying my prayer, I also got ready and went out. Hopping in our, we forwarded towards there and Rose started her blabbering looking outside of the car.

Kathleen's P.O.V.

Reaching at the park, I went to our given place and found the little kids playing and running to and fro. To announce my presence, I greeted them loudly, "Hey kids.."

Hearing my voice, they turned around only to find me standing there and ran to me and I asked them.

"How are you all, lovelies?"

"We are fine, aunty. How are you?" They replied in unison.

" I am fine too. Look, I have brought some snacks for you all."

Hearing me, the looked at the packet in my hand.

We all enjoyed the snacks together then I made them sit to study.

After some time, I heard someone asking, "What are you doing?" and got startled.

I looked around only to find a cute little girl sitting beside me and looking at us curiously.

Another little girl sitting here, answered her, "We are reading. Aunt Kathleen is teaching us. You know she is very nice." and I smiled a little hearing her.

The girl looked at me and said, "I also want to study with you." the new girl was sounding very excited but when I said, "Okay, bring your books here then." her face turned pale.

"I didn't bring my books here. They are in my home. Can you come there to teach me some time?" The girl was saying normally but at last part she gave me a pleading and hopeful look.

When I replied, "No, dear. I can't go there.", she left from there after staring at me with a sad face.

I sadly smiled at her then I turned forward and got myself busy with the kids. When I was done almost after 30 minutes, I got up and said, "Now go to your respective places. We will meet again after one day. Complete your homework by then, okay?"

"Okay aunt Kathleen." They replied in unison and I smiled at them and said, "Bye."

They all left from there and I kept standing for a while. I really enjoyed being with these kids. They live in the orphanage right beside the park. 6 months earlier I met them for the first time in this park and I liked them instantly and started teaching them.

I was lost in my thought when I heard someone uttering, "Excuse me."

I looked forward and found a man maybe in his thirties standing there.

I uttered politely, "Yes?" and he pointed towards someone. I followed his direction only to find the girl who came earlier to me. She was talking to a woman maybe her mother while crying loudly.

I looked back at him as he said, "I am her father."

Alina's P.O.V.

In car I suggested to go somewhere else but Rose kept insisting on going to the park.

Arriving there, I selected a place where it seemed quite clean. Rose was just happy being in the park and jumping all around us.

Ace was looking still tired. When I asked him about it, he said, "Handling two companies are not easy, wifey. But don't worry. Adrian will be back in a few days. Then it will be okay."

Saying this, he looked at me hopefully and I just nodded at that. I looked back at Rose only to find her staring at something.

I followed her gaze and saw a young girl who was surrounded by many little kids.

I turned to Rose and asked her, "What are looking at, sweetie? "

Pointing at the same direction, she asked me, "What are they doing, Mom?"

As soon as I replied, "I don't know sweetie.", she ran towards them saying, "Okay. You stay here. I am going there to know. Then I will tell you."

I looked at Ace and told him to stop her but he spoke up likewise, "Let her be. And by the way she is not alone. We are here with her."

Pointing at that direction, he continued, "That young girl perhaps is teaching the kids. Look at them."

When I looked at them, the situation seemed as Ace said but I still got up to go there for myself.

Ace also followed me. I stopped midway when I saw Rose talking to that young girl happily. But after a few moments, Rose came running to us with teary eyes.

Seeing that Ace hurriedly got near her and took her in arms and asked, "What happened, princess? What did that girl say to you?"

"That aunt is teaching all the kids but when I told her to teach me too, she said no." saying this Rose started sobbing slightly.

Ace tried to calm her and said, "That aunt is bad. I will bring a good one to teach you at home. Don't worry. Okay, princess?" only to get her worked up more.

I also tried to divert her mind. We got back to our place and even tried to calm her by giving chocolates which was her all time favourite.

But nothing was working and she started crying loudly. Being unable to see her like this, Ace and I looked at each other helplessly.

I looked back at the girl who was now standing alone. Maybe she was about to leave.

I started thinking what to do but Ace stood up immediately and saying, "I will talk to her" started walking towards her.

Ace's P.O.V.

I can't bear to see my baby girl like this.

While thinking like this, I went to talk to the girl.

She was standing alone and getting near her, I spoke up, "Excuse me."

May be she got startled at my sudden call but turning to me, she answered politely, "Yes."

I pointed towards Rose who was still crying and said, "I am her father."

She looked at Rose and then turned to me but kept all silent. So I spoke up again, "I saw you teaching other kids. Can you teach my daughter too? I will pay you handsomely. Don't worry about that."

Her face turned all serious, "I don't do it for money."

"Look, I am sorry. I didn't want to offend you. I just want you to teach my daughter. " I kept pleading to her.

I didn't know why but she seemed trying to sound normal, "I don't have any problem with teaching your daughter. Send her here every Monday and Friday."

But when I said, "Would you mind to teach her coming to our place?"

She just answered me straight, "No. I can't do that."

I looked back at Rose who was looking at me hopefully but her eyes were still teary.

"Please don't say no. Actually my daughter, Rose is allergic to dust. That's why we normally cannot take her out often. Seeing you teaching the kids, she is insisting on getting you as her teacher. She is continuously crying after getting the answer no from you. Please help me out. I can't bear to see her like that."

I was pleading and sounding helpless in front of a stranger but that was not important to me. All that mattered to me now was somehow making my Princess smile again and I would do anything for bringing back that smile on her face.

Little did I know, I was giving my best effort only to bring back the smile on my daughter's face in front of a girl who was left behind all alone by her father when she was crying...
