Lola’s POV

I walked out of the doctor’s office as soon as we were done talking, my thoughts already racing ahead of me. Without wasting another second, I headed straight to the reception and made the transfer without any delay.

“Received,” said the receptionist, her eyes fixed on the desktop screen. “Please hold on while I print out your receipt, ma’am,” she added gently.

With Jasmine cradled tightly against my chest in one arm, I leaned my elbow on the counter and waited. The weight of everything I was doing — everything I had already done — pressed silently against my shoulders.

The moment she handed me the receipt, I should have turned and walked straight to Tyler’s hospital room. I should have checked on him, made sure he was stable, that the nurses were doing their part. But I didn’t. Not immediately.

Because something stopped me.

A thought crept into my mind like a thief in the night, and I knew right away — if I didn’t pause to think it through, I might ruin everything I had ca

  • Marrying The Billionaire Who Healed Me   Chapter 51 Tyler’s Outburst

Tyler’s POVThe doctor walked into the room where I was lying. By then, Lola was no longer by my side. She had been there all night, sitting vigil like the devoted wife she always was—but even the most caring person isn’t a machine. She needed sleep, didn’t she?To function well, the brain needs rest, and Lola had pushed herself enough. Before she left, she kissed me gently on the forehead and promised to return in the afternoon to check on me. I didn’t feel any resentment. In fact, I appreciated her decision to get some rest. It showed she was thinking clearly—for both of us. After all, I’d be fine. The doctor had promised. The last clear image I had before the surgery was of the doctor stepping into my room, holding a syringe.“Mr. Cooper, we will now commence the surgery,” he said calmly. He lifted the syringe and pressed the bottom, a small stream of liquid spurting out as he tested it.“This is a sedative,” he explained. “It will cast you into a deep sleep while we operate. You’l

  • Marrying The Billionaire Who Healed Me   Chapter 50 Blackson Obama

Eunice’s POVI was still deep in thought, trying to piece together the possibility of Dr. Joel’s murder—or if he had truly taken his own life—when my phone suddenly rang, snapping me back to the present.Even though I wasn’t in Green City anymore, I was in Jamaica. Thankfully, I had the foresight to activate the roaming network on both my phone and SIM before leaving. I knew there was a chance I might need to receive urgent calls from board members—calls I couldn’t afford to miss, no matter where I was.I squinted at the screen, moving my gaze to the top where it displayed the caller's ID. Then I exhaled sharply.Blackson.My mind instantly recalled the last conversation we had before I traveled. He had promised to get back to me after visiting Philadelphia, where he intended to uncover the truth about Lola’s past arrest.Even though a heavy weight still sat on my chest because of the disturbing possibility surrounding Dr. Joel, I couldn’t ignore how critical it was to expose Lola too

  • Marrying The Billionaire Who Healed Me   Chapter 49 Eunice Heard the News

Eunice’ POVJamaica was a beautiful country in the Caribbean, an island in the sun-kissed sea where reggae rhythms floated on the breeze.Being a sun-baked country and one with warm weather almost all year round, I sat by the side of the beautiful beach, soaking it all in. I sat on the lounge chair, wearing a hat, sunglasses, pants, and a bra, sunbathing on the island that looked like it was kissed by the gods themselves.I stared at the people in front of me, playing in the water and having the time of their lives. I smiled quietly, watching one of them making silly moves for their friends, trying to make their vacation as funny and enjoyable as possible. They looked so carefree, so alive. There was something sacred about vacation. It felt like a sabbath — a time to rest, revive, gather your strength again, to find peace before heading back into the chaos of work and everyday life once the vacation was over.As I watched families in the water throwing balls at each other, laughing li

  • Marrying The Billionaire Who Healed Me   Chapter 48 The Talk WIth Tyler

Lola’s POV I turned the doorknob slowly and gently with one hand, while Jasmine slept peacefully in my other arm.As I walked through the door and stepped inside, I saw him open his eyes as though he had been expecting us all along.“Hey,” he said, his voice laced with pain, each word sounding like it hurt to speak.I walked straight to the side of his bed and sat down. “Hey,” I greeted back, forcing a feigned smile onto my face as I reached for his hand—like a devoted, peaceful wife who didn’t want to lose the man she loved. If tonight had played out in the distant future, under more natural circumstances—say, the poison took effect and he just slept and never woke up—wouldn’t I have been the happiest woman on earth? So happy, in fact, that if the Guinness Book of Records didn’t recognize it, it would have been a crime.“How are you?” I asked, pulling myself out of the swirling thoughts in my head. I gently caressed the back of his hand with my thumb, soft and slow.“We were worried

  • Marrying The Billionaire Who Healed Me   Chapter 46 The Hospital

I arrived at the hospital almost as quickly as the paramedics. I had carried Jasmine out the moment they left. I rushed into Tyler’s car. My hands were trembling, but I moved with purpose.I had noticed Tyler had left his car key on the kitchen counter. Knowing full well that his black sedan was faster than mine, I had grabbed it without a second thought. I drove out of the driveway like a woman possessed, my eyes locked on the flashing lights of the paramedics’ van ahead. As we pulled into the hospital, I felt a sudden wave of relief. At least it wasn’t Dr. Joel’s hospital. That man already hated me, and worse, he knew—or strongly suspected—that I had poisoned Tyler’s mother. The last thing I needed was to have him as Tyler’s doctor now. How could I possibly defend myself if he was the one in charge?“Please wait right here, ma’am. We will get back to you,” a nurse said firmly, blocking my path as a doctor followed the paramedics who were wheeling Tyler in on a stretcher fast into th

  • Marrying The Billionaire Who Healed Me   Chapter 45 Call Bianca The Hospital

Lola’s POVMy heart raced right in the room. This was not supposed to happen. Only a person who was a fool or purely dumb wouldn’t know that Tyler bleeding from the nose and the ear was a symptom of poison. But this was not what Bianca told me. This was not how it was supposed to happen. Or was it, and I had just misunderstood?I stumbled toward the bedside, my breath hitching as my eyes locked onto Tyler’s blood, festering in a dark pool on the cold floor. His body lay limp and unconscious beside it, and the sight terrified me to the bone marrow. If nothing else, this scene screamed death. Pure, undeniable death. The police would swarm this place in the blink of an eye. I would be the prime suspect. And with how things looked, there was no way to prove otherwise. I was the only one who could’ve poisoned him.Panicked, I grabbed my phone and dialed Bianca. She had to explain. She must explain. Because if she didn’t, then she was just as guilty in this as I was. Maybe even more.If I g

  • Marrying The Billionaire Who Healed Me   Chapter 44 Tyler’s Thought

Tyler’s POVThe thing is, you can never find the perfect person. It’s either the person you found was beautiful in all ways, but when it came to her face, you had to convince yourself each morning that she was beautiful—especially when the first thing you saw was her horrible face staring back at you on the pillow.Or, she was beautiful inside and out, even her face was flawless—but she nagged so much, it left you mentally exhausted. That was me, right about now.Lola was beautiful. Sexy. I mean, her body was what made me start imagining all kinds of things about her from the start. But seriously, she nagged. A lot. And there was nothing I could do about it. She was my wife. The mother of my only child. So, I told myself I had to deal with it.This evening felt off, though.I followed her behind the kitchen counter, quietly observing her as she opened the fridge and brought out the coffee. Her movements were deliberate, almost too calculated.Coffee was naturally bitter. Most of us sw

  • Marrying The Billionaire Who Healed Me   Chapter 43 Will He?

Lola’s POVWomen, they say, have the sly actions to control men as they see fit. What kind of a woman would I be if I didn’t leverage this power to control Tyler?I faked reluctant, vulnerable eyes at Tyler, my gaze darting like a little girl trying to manipulate her father into buying her some cups of ice cream. The act came naturally to me, soft, innocent and calculated.Having known that he loved me too well because he believed he was Jasmine’s father—I knew he would do anything I asked. But still, asking him to give something valuable to someone he’d never heard of, especially when he believed I was an orphan, might hit a nerve. Yet there was always a way. Almost three years ago, when I found him, I crafted a heartbreaking story—how my parents died in a fire that burned our home to ashes. It was tragic. It was emotional. And it was all a lie.I told him strangers had rescued me from the blaze. I painted myself as a helpless girl who barely escaped death. That lie was one of the ke
