10 Do You Regret It?

Delia’s POV

There is no moon tonight. The rain is like a haze over the earth.

As Kral carried me out of the ballroom, I saw the crowd's surprised eyes. The faces of my father and Bernice blurred in my vision. I lay in Kral's arms. His strong arms wrapped around me, and the smell of liquor around me made me hold my breath a little to keep my head from spinning. I could see his broad chin and high nose bridge. His golden eyes were not looking at me. Instead, he held me tightly with his hands, and I realized that I was shivering slightly in his arms.

I turned over his shoulder, and as the ballroom and the manor grew blurred in view, I suddenly felt something clearly slipping away from my life. My happy childhood, my miserable youth, my mother's tears, my father's neglect, Bernice's arrogance. They all left me at this moment, so clearly.
