Chapter 1. Who is responsible?

After her birthday celebration ended, Camila White woke up and discovered herself sleeping on a bed. She stood up and rushed out, heading back to her father's pack. She went to celebrate her 18th birthday in the club, and now she had a vague memory of what had occurred.

She arrived home, and her parents didn't ask her how the event went. Thankfully, Camila returned to her room to rest, and she tried not to think about how she slept in a hotel room.

A few months ago, Camila became sick. Her father invited the pack's doctor to examine her. Camila was scared, as she knew the law governing the Eastern Wood Packs. This pack was known for its uprightness, no cheating, no unwanted pregnancy, and the rest.

Well, after the pregnancy test report was out, Alpha Jackson White broke out. He summoned Camila to meet him in the living room, and he queried, "Who got you pregnant?"

Camila fell down to her knees. She had no idea how she became pregnant. Who did she sleep with? She could only remember meeting her mate. The party was a quick one, with a lot of her friends present. One of her friends, Amelia George, had given her a drink.

Camila saw Amelia smiling with Andre. She knew Andre was her mate. They were all drinking, but what happened after she drank the wine Amelia had given her? Camila couldn't remember.

"I don't know Papa," Camila cried.

Alpha Jackson White was seething with rage upon discovering that Camila was pregnant.

"I will ask you for the last time. Who did you shamelessly sleep with?" Alpha Jackson roared.

Luna Theresa rushed out of the kitchen. She saw Camila kneeling down, and she knows Camila is sick.

"Alpha, please take it easy on Camila. She's just a young girl." Luna Theresa White pleaded.

Her husband scoffed, "Young girl? Don't tell me to calm down, Luna. First, I didn't support your idea for Camila to go to the Packs Club. You said she's an adult. Now look at what an adult has turned her into. At this point, she's supposed to further into the Pack Academy and become someone useful. She chose to bring shame to our family and disgrace to our pack." Alpha Jackson was angry.

It hurt him so much that he wanted Camila to marry his Beta son. Lonald's son to help in ruling their pack. Camila had to face the law.

Camila kneeled down, crying, "Please, Father, forgive me."

"Shut up! Just tell me, who is responsible for your child? You cannot remain here with us. It's either you tell me who you mated with, or you are hereby banished."

"I don't know, father..." Camila cried as she knelt to beg her father. The last thing she remembered was celebrating her birthday.

She met her mate, Andre Mason, and she fell in love with him, but she couldn't remember what happened next after drinking the wine Amelia gave her.

"Answer me before I throw you out this minute! Who got you pregnant?" Alpha Jackson asked. Next, he pulled off his trouser belt and approached Camila.

"It seems I have been lenient with you enough, and you think that I cannot discipline you?" Alpha Jackson rushed to Camila. He started flogging her with his black belt.

"Alpha! Take it easy on Camila! You will kill her, oh! Camila is our only daughter. Somebody help!" Luna Theresa shouted. She rushed to separate her husband from flogging their only daughter. With the way Alpha Jackson's mansion was built, no one could enter Alpha's mansion or poke his nose. Even the guards couldn't just barge in, except Alpha Jackson sent for them.

It was midnight, and the pack members living around could only hear the sound of the whip and heavy lashing on Camila's body with her heavy sobs. She cried, wailing out, but no one came to her rescue.

Alpha Jackson stopped flogging Camila, and he ordered his guards to throw her out. There was no going back on the pack law. Camila had defaulted on the law and must leave the pack to avoid becoming a bad influence on the upcoming youth.

The two guards rushed into Alpha Jackson's mansion. He ordered them, "Throw Camila out of this pack. Camila has been banished and is no longer my daughter. Take her away."

"Okay, Alpha," the two guards immediately bundled Camila away. But Luna Theresa White pleaded, "No, Alpha, you cannot do this to our only child. Bring back my daughter!"

Luna Theresa chased after the two guards, but they didn't stop or dare to go against Alpha Jackson White's order.

They ran out with Camila, and Luna Theresa chased after them. The two gaurds carried Camila by her arms each and took her away.

"No! Bring back my daughter! My precious Jewel!" Luna Theresa screamed out after the two guards, and that attracted the pack members to come out of their houses and wonder what was happening as the Luna of their pack was crying.

"Camila!! No!" Luna Theresa was dressed in a lime-colored nightgown, and she ran after the two guards and caught up with them, and she tried to pull Camila away from their hold.

Camila was already too tired to protest, and her wolf, Ivy, was too weak to shapeshift and fight with the two guards to go back and plead with her father.

Camila knew that her father was ruthless, but she had never gotten on her father's wrong side, as she had always done what her father ever wanted her to be. To be a good girl and to possess good leadership spirit so that other young werewolves of their packs would learn from her and look up to her as the next Alpha of their packs, irrespective of the fact that she was a female.

But she failed her father, and for the first time in her 18 years of living, her father raised his belt on her and disciplined her.

Camila felt sore as she watched her mother try to pull her away from the two guards dragging her out of their packs.

"Luna, we cannot go against Alpha Jackson's orders. Camila has been banished; please try and understand," the two guards begged, knowing how ruthless Alpha Jackson was not to spare any offenders.

"You cannot take my daughter away. I haven't banished Camila yet, and she's still a member of our Eastern Pack. Let go of Camila at once," Luna Theresa commanded, but the two guards knew whose orders to follow.

"We cannot, Luna. We're sorry." They refused to let go of Camila and dragged Camila away from her mother, while they ran away with Camila, with Luna Theresa chasing after them.

Luna Theresa became exhausted from chasing after the two guards as they ran fast with Camila, and they had already left to exit the Eastern Pack.

"No!! My Camila!" Luna Theresa fell to her knees and cried as her vision blurred with her heavy tears.

The two guards finally arrived at their pack's exit gate, and they threw Camila out and locked the heavy gate on her.

"Go away and never return to this pack; otherwise, you know best what your father will do to you," one of the two guards warned Camila, as they knew Camila was aware of her father's ruthlessness.

They also knew that Camila could've heard them; even though Camila was weak, she was still breathing and awake.

They turned and left Camila and walked back into the Eastern Pack gate, while the two guards at the entrance gate into the Eastern Pack territory shut the gate closed on Camila.

Camila was too weak to stand up, as she was still kneeling in front of her pack's entrance gate.

Her body hurt and stung from the pain that she had received.

She didn't know how she became pregnant, as she also remembered meeting her mate for the first time and getting drunk after.

Tears streamed down from her eyes, and soon the heavy rain began to fall with the heavy wind blowing.

Raindrops drenched her already light white nightgown, and Camila knew that she had no other option than to stand up and search for shelter, but from where?.

Camila also knew that no other packs would accept her, as she had the Eastern tattoo on her right arm and, more likely, the sun symbol tattoo on her forehead to indicate that she was from the Eastern Pack.

The rising sun symbol marked on her forehead was a logo to show other packs that she was a foreigner and from the Eastern Pack, and many other packs hated her father as they knew her father didn't tolerate cheating or any sin.

Alpha Jackson was known for the discipline, genuineness, and uprightness of their packs. And now she has failed to show that true leadership spirit.

Camila dragged herself to move as the heavy rain drenched her body, and she made her way towards the path that led to the Western Wood Packs.

Camila knew the Western Packs were full of liars, deceit, fraudsters, and more likely cheaters, like her father usually told her.

The Western Wood Packs were usually open to foreigners, and they welcomed foreigners freely to live in their packs.

Camila made her way to the Western Packs border and entrance gate that was far from her father's pack, and she was hopeful that by the time she would get there, they would accept her, despite knowing she was the Alpha's daughter.
