Li Jingchen immediately perked up at that. He looked at Li Tingxiao’s back as the latter walked into the distance, inwardly pleased. ‘Big Bro, Big Bro. Even brothers gotta keep a tab sometimes. Since you let me down first, don’t blame me for what I’m about to do.’

Su Jianxi waited for Li Tingxiao for a while, but soon Li Tingxiao gave her a call and said there was a sudden situation, so he had to leave.

After she finished her meal, she continued to flip through the script.

Su Jianxi was not at all worried about Shen Siming, who had been knocked out by Li Tingxiao. After all, there were plenty of employees around here, so Shen Siming would definitely not stay passed out there for too long.

After spending the whole morning familiarizing herself with the script, Su Jianxi was seventy to eighty percent certain about the female lead’s personality.

That afternoon, filming began.

Because of Su Huanran, all of the female lead’s scenes had to be retaken.

At the same time, the misunderstanding that morning meant that when Su Jianxi and Shen Jingxuan acted out their scenes, Xia Duorao sat next to them, glaring at Su Jianxi with a bloodthirsty look. If looks could kill, Su Jianxi’s body would be cold by now.

On the other hand, Shen Jingxuan had no qualms at all about acting opposite Su Jianxi. In fact, he was quite happy.

“I didn’t expect you to be Su Jianxi.” Shen Jingxuan looked at Su Jianxi boldly, his gaze gleaming with intense interest.

“Yeah, so? Are you curious about me?” Su Jianxi was not very interested in a playboy like Shen Jingxuan.

“I wasn’t before, but I am now.” Shen Jingxuan did not beat around any bushes. “Su Jianxi, are you free after filming?”

When the director called “cut”, Su Jianxi shoved Shen Jingxuan away and gave him a look of utter contempt.

She was beginning to think that Li Tingxiao was far, far better than these guys.

Throughout the entire afternoon of filming, Su Jianxi had to shoot her scenes opposite Shen Jingxuan and deal with Xia Duorao’s occasional acts of harassment as well. All in all, it was a very eventful afternoon.

When it was over, Su Jianxi called a cab to take her back home.

What she did not know was that as soon as she stepped into the cab, a luxurious car followed behind her.

When Su Jianxi reached home and opened the door, she immediately smelled the faint scent of alcohol in the air.

Li Tingxiao was sitting at the apartment’s mini bar, drinking on his own. His eyes were trained on the red wine in his glass, and he seemed so occupied with his thoughts that he did not even notice that Su Jianxi was back.

“What are you thinking about?” Su Jianxi walked up to Li Tingxiao and sat down next to him, her voice gentle and sweet, music to his ears.

Li Tingxiao came back to his senses and put his glass down. He pulled the woman next to him into his arms and kissed her directly.

Su Jianxi had long since gotten used to how Li Tingxiao would kiss her without warning.

After the time they spent together, Su Jianxi had found a sense of security in Li Tingxiao’s presence.

That was something Shen Siming could not give her. She felt like a ship who had finally seen a lighthouse after years of drifting aimlessly.

“I was thinking of my wife.”

Su Jianxi’s heart skipped a beat at his words. “Did you really… fall in love with me at first sight?”

She was beginning to fall for him, she thought. Otherwise, she would not keep asking him this.

In lieu of a response to Su Jianxi’s question, Li Tingxiao kissed her again.
