Layla's POV

I didn't need to be a wiz to know what was happening. What was shocking was how the hell it was happening.

Almost a week ago, I left my house... The huge mansion my father bought for me to apologize for his wrongdoings and move back in with him.

He had been trying to apologize to me for months now, so I thought... Why not just agree to it?

He was still my biological father, and he wanted the best for me... Maybe.

Plus, he was getting me married to some handsome, wealthy dude, so, why not?

So I did. I went back home.

My father gave me the warmest greeting he had ever given me, even going as far as throwing a party to welcome me back into the house.

But it was all a facade... I knew.

He only wanted me to feel welcome so I wouldn't leave again.

I didn't plan on leaving anyways unless the man he wanted me to marry was an old fucker.

It's been years since I'd been here last.

Everything was different.

The house looked even bigger. I blinked staring at the house. It w

  • Mr. Reynolds, your wife is an imposter    Chapter 84 Find Elena

Layla's POV It had been days. Painful, silent days since I 'revealed' the truth to Noah. He no longer spoke to me. I wasn't expecting him to. That look, that warmness in his eyes that had started to develop for me. That twinkle whenever he saw me had disappeared, replaced with something cold. But it wasn't hatred. He didn't hate me. Maybe it was because he never loved me enough to. But he felt something, hatred... Towards Elena! What baffled me was; he didn't remember her... Why did he hate her so much? I understood him a bit. I made her out to be the bad guy, yes... I blamed everything on her. True. But he hated her much more than I could have imagined. As though he felt betrayed even though he didn't know what exactly made him feel that way. Could it be because he may not remember her, but he remembered how she made him feel? Was that it? Aish... I groaned, leaning my head on the wall. I had been racking my head, trying to figure out what the hell I was going to do now

  • Mr. Reynolds, your wife is an imposter    Chapter 83 Karma's sick joke

Elena's POV Jack's words surprised me. Or... Rather, it shocked me. The man openly admitted in less than two hours after seeing me again that he was still in love with me. He was in love... With me. Natasha... Elena. The girl who not only lied to him but also took parts of his memories along side her when she left. The girl that pretended not to know him when they met again only so she could protect herself from going to jail. That girl. Her. He was still in love with her... With me. It was unbelievable. I couldn't believe it. At first I had thought Jack was joking with me. Maybe this... The kind, nice attitude he had showed me back in the restaurant, maybe it was all a lie. A cruel trick to get me relaxed so he would strike when I least expected it. I thought maybe the police were already out waiting for me just outside the restaurant and as soon as I came out, the first words I would hear would be... 'Hands's up. We got you surrounded.'But then, when I walked out of

Elena's POV Jack raised a brow, an amused look on his face. Then he shook his head. "I don't understand what you mean." I would have rolled my eyes if I weren't trying to show him how serious I was. Why was he making small talk? Why did he bring up my family and my background? And most importantly, why wasn't I in handcuffs by now? These thoughts kept disturbing my head as I stared at him. Everything that was currently happening made absolutely no sense. Jack and I meeting up back in the country was a possibility. But here? Estonia. A country that not many people even knew the name of...It felt strange. I pressed my lips together, giving him a discerning look. "I had wronged you. Terribly." I began, twirling the little spoon in the coffee around. "We saw each other months ago but I pretended not to know you and ran away." Then a sigh left my lips. This was the part I expected Jack to chip in something. But he just kept looking at me. I glanced at him... My gaze filled w

  • Mr. Reynolds, your wife is an imposter    Chapter 81 I was a criminal

Elena's POV What was currently happening was something I had never expected to happen... Ever. At least not in this lifetime, or the next... Or ever. I was seated at a restaurant, the same one I left over an hour ago. The one where the waiter came running to return my bag, and even gave me a business card. That one. Opposite me... Directly opposite me was Jack. The Jack... My Jack. The same Jack I knew years ago. My first love. And not only was he seated in the same restaurant and table as me, he also remembered everything. Every single thing I did to him. My mistake and my con... How I left, he remembered everything. Yet we were seated at the same table. He hadn't made any move to call the police... His force mates, and he didn't seem as if he had any plans of actually doing it. I hope. I gulped down, snapping my head out of my thoughts. "...That's how I remember." Jack finished his story. He just finished telling the story of how he remembers me. I ba

  • Mr. Reynolds, your wife is an imposter    Chapter 80

Elena's POV Winters: Long, cold, snowy, and dark (sunset can be as early as 3:30 PM). Perfect for a hiding mood; cozy cafés, candlelight, a little loneliness. Summers: Bright, mild, and full of festivals. The sun can stay up until 11 PM in June/July. The city has a medieval Old Town with cobblestone streets, colorful houses, and spires... like stepping into another world. But it’s also modern, with glass buildings and a strong tech culture. Atmosphere: Tallinn sits on the Baltic Sea; foggy mornings, gray waves, perfect atmospheric scenes. Those were the things I saw in the brochures and also online when I was researching a place to hide. Somewhere that would take even the most powerful person at least a few years to find. Tallinn interested me almost instantly. Estonia in general. Just the name alone sounded like a place that would only be in fairy tales and Disney cartoons. So... I decided to go there. After my plane landed; the one Alfonso arranged for me. I stayed in

Elena's POV SIX MONTHS LATER"Ms, you forgot your bag." Someone yelled behind me. I glanced down at my hands to realize that my bag indeed wasn't with me. Then I turned around. Surely enough, a waiter from the restaurant I had just finished eating at was running towards me. He held something in his hand. I squinted my eyes... It was a brown leather bag... My bag. "Oh my goodness." With hurried steps, I moved towards him, my lips lifting into a smile. "Thank you so much.", exclaimed once he was close enough. "Ms." The water gasped for air, bending down to catch his breath. "You... You forgot your bag." He muttered. His breathing coming out in loud puffs. The restaurant was a bit of a distance from where we currently stood. I left there almost 15 minutes ago and hadn't stopped anywhere else. If he had realized it a few minutes ago, then... He had quite a run. "Thank you so much for this," I repeated, taking the bag from his hands. How did I even forget this?My head was in t
