The bedroom was dead quiet, the air heavy like the stillness right before a heavy rain, smelling of dust and wet earth coming in through the window cracks. A pale light dropped from the ceiling, washing over the floorboards. I stood right in the middle of the room, my chest pounding against my ribs like something trying to break out and run away. My body was burning hot, head spinning, that deep ache between my legs making me crazy. I wanted him bad, no shaking about it, and I wanted him right now before I lost my mind completely.

I rushed for my dress zipper, my fingers clumsy and shaking as I fought the cloth. Before I could pull it down, his hand caught my wrist. Hard.

He moved fast, stepping right out of the dark corners like he had been standing there the whole time. Not a single word left his mouth. He just stared down at me till a quiet breath left his lips, freezing my legs right where they stood. His skin felt like cold stone against my hot pulse. He tilted his head, watching me heavy, making me feel naked all over under his gaze.

Then his hands steady. He worked the buttons and zipper down, dragging his knuckles across my collarbone and slowly down my neck. It felt cold like ice touching my skin, dragging out the shivers till the dress dropped all the way to the floor and I stood there shaking in the open air.

His fingers hit my underwear lace, and he stopped right there. A hot wave of shame hit my chest. I knew how I looked—soaked, dripping, showing every bit of my desperate self without trying to hide it anymore.

I tried pulling back, reaching down to cover myself, but his hand stayed fixed like iron on my hip.

He dropped to his knees right in front of me, his eyes locked on mine with a dark, heavy hunger. He leaned in close, caught the edge of the cloth with his teeth, and gave a slow pull. The tearing sound echoed loud and sharp in the quiet room. It felt like embarrassing rubbish, but I couldn't make myself stop him even if I tried. The last piece fell away, leaving me completely open to the air and totally at his mercy.

Then his hands touched me. Slow at first, his freezing fingers tracing all over my wet skin. He rubbed my thighs and pushed them apart wide so nothing was hidden from him. He started teasing me right there, swirling his fingers round my hot spot while his other hand gripped my hip tight to keep me from moving away.

He leaned close, blowing a cold breath right on my wet place, and I shivered mad because my body heat and his ice breath clashed crazy together. Then his tongue dragged right up the middle, tasting how soaked I was. I let out a loud gasp, grabbed his hair, and pulled him down harder against me.

He didn't rush at all. He licked my soft skin over and over, his flat tongue lapping up my wetness like someone drinking water after a long trekking in the sun. His mouth covered me completely, sucking gentle while his thumb kept rubbing my clitoris in circles. My legs started shaking bad. I threw my head back and bit my lip, but small noises kept bursting out of my throat. Every time his tongue pushed inside, I whimpered loud.

His mouth followed down, leaving hot, wet kisses on my tummy and thighs, tasting every single spot till his cold tongue slid right inside, burying deep, his tongue working hard on my clitoris and sending a sharp shock straight to my brain.

I was breaking apart. I spread my legs wider, clutching his shoulders, choking out, “Omo... put it inside me. Please put it inside me, I need you.”

I was soaked, aching non-stop. I clawed at the bed sheets, arching up till he finally shifted. He lunged forward, driving straight inside me with a heavy push that knocked the wind clean out of my lungs. It felt so thick, so huge. He put a pillow under my hips to lift me up, his knees bent as he pounded full force, filling me completely.

It turned into hours of a steady, heavy rhythm, the bed screaming against the floorboards as he kept driving without taking one single stop. Not my first time, but I had never seen this kind of thing—hours of him never getting tired, never sweating, never even catching his breath. He drove in with a blank focus, his eyes fixed on nothing, staring straight through me into the dark room.

I caught his eyes for a second, swearing the pupils stretched long and weird, not human at all. I blinked hard, and they were normal again. I wondered if the shadows were just playing games with my head because of the heat.

The room seemed to shrink around us, the darkness pressing in from the corners while the relentless rhythm kept going on and on. I could hear the faint sound of the wind outside shaking the old window frames, but inside it was just the wet slap of skin and my own ragged breathing echoing off the walls. My legs felt heavy like lead, wrapped tight around his waist as I tried to keep up with a pace that defied any normal human strength. Every time I thought he might slow down, he pushed harder, driving deep into my core until my thoughts dissolved into pure white noise.

My skin was slick with sweat, mixing with the cool air of the room to send goosebumps all over my arms, even though inside I felt like I was burning up from the inside out. I reached up, my fingers tangling in his dark hair again, pulling him down so I could feel his breath against my neck, rough and freezing all at once.

I gave up fighting it. I dropped every bit of pride, letting go completely as I moved with him into the dark, shaking over and over again against my hot skin. Tired, dripping, and aching everywhere, I was still begging for more, my voice cracking as I whispered nonsense into the quiet. My tummy felt sore and tight from the heavy pace. He acted like a fine gentleman with his calm face, but he tore into me like a wild dog that finally caught meat. I was totally his now—a prisoner in a dark house, drowning in a sweet pain like a curse I never wanted to escape.

The old man seated near the doorway shifted against the wall, clearing his throat quietly before speaking. His voice was low and cautious in the stillness of the room."If she needs to know the truth," the old man said, looking across the floor toward Rachel, "maybe it is time. We should take her out to the back. She needs to see the compound. She needs to see the stones."Rachel raised her head slowly, her face tightening with immediate objection. She shook her head, her hands reaching out in a defensive gesture."No," Rachel said, her voice strained and sharp. "Not now. It is already getting late, and she has been through too much today. Look at her. She is frightened, she is exhausted. She cannot handle walking out there right now."She looked directly at me, her eyes pleading for me to understand."Amara, listen to me," Rachel urged softly. "Wait until the morning. Sleep first. In the daylight, we can go out to the graves together."I stared at her, the blood roaring in my ears. S

My hands wouldn't stop shaking. Even with Liam pressed so hard against my chest that I could feel the rapid, terrified thumping of his little heart, the violent tremors wouldn't leave my bones. The dim light of the room felt suffocatingly heavy on my shoulders, pressing down until my lungs burned. Rachel was kneeling right beside me on the woven mat, her own face stained and tracked with fresh tears, her hands hovering helplessly near my arms as if she wanted to catch the pieces of me before I completely came apart. "Amara, please," Rachel whispered, her voice cracking right down the middle as she tried to pull me back from the edge. "You need to breathe. Just breathe, my child. Look at me." "I can't," I choked out, the words tearing raw and bloody through my throat. My eyes were burning, swollen shut from hours of crying, and every single time I tried to force a full breath past my ribs, my chest hitched violently. I stared down blindly at the dusty wooden floorboards, but I wasn'

An elderly man pushed his way through the cluster of agitated voices, stepping into the center of the yard with slow, deliberate authority. His head was crowned with thick gray hair, and a full beard of matching silver covered his jaw. As he moved, the noise around him dropped immediately. People stepped back, making room for him without a word.He looked down at Rachel, who was still crumpled on the dry earth near the edge of the swept compound. Her head was shaking in a slow, continuous rhythm, tears cutting wet tracks through the dust on her cheeks. One of her hands was pressed tightly over her mouth, muffling the ragged breaths that kept escaping her, while the other trembled violently against the ground. The old man crouched beside her, his movements stiff with age. He reached out and placed a warm, heavy hand on her shoulder."Get up, Rachel," he said softly. "Get up."He stayed there, supporting her weight as she slowly pushed herself up from the floor, her legs unsteady beneat

The drive had been quiet for most of the morning. Daniel barely spoke as he drove, his eyes fixed on the asphalt ahead, the tires humming softly beneath us. Liam was in the back seat, playing with a small plastic toy. After a while, he leaned forward as much as his seat belt allowed. "Daddy? Will Grandma have toys at her house?" Daniel glanced at him through the mirror. His shoulders stiffened slightly before he answered. "I don't know, buddy. Probably not." I looked over at Daniel from the passenger seat. Something had been bothering me since we left Lagos. He had barely said a word, his posture rigid against the headrest. I had tried talking to him several times since we left the flat, asking if he was nervous, if he remembered the exact turnoffs, or if he wanted to pull over for water. He answered every question, but only with a few words before going quiet again. "Are you sure you're okay?" I asked softly, reaching across the console to touch his forearm. His skin felt unusua

  • My Billionaire Husband Was Never Human    Chapter 87: Few Days Before the Visit

The calendar hanging by the kitchen pantry said there were only four days left. To me, those four days could not pass quickly enough. I had spent the entire morning at the market, moving from one stall to another and haggling with traders until my arms were loaded with shopping bags. When I finally kicked the front door shut and dropped my parcels onto the living room sofa, I looked flushed and triumphant. "You're going to bankrupt us," Daniel said, leaning against the doorframe of the kitchen with a half-empty mug of coffee he had barely touched. "I am doing no such thing," I laughed, unzipping my handbag and pulling out a neatly wrapped package of imported tea. "Your mother is an older woman. You don't show up at a stranger’s doorstep empty-handed—let alone your own mother's." I began unpacking everything I had bought: two yards of embroidered Ankara fabric in soft sage green, a couple of white cotton blouses, a simple leather handbag, and a small tin of butter cookies for Li

  • My Billionaire Husband Was Never Human    Chapter 86: The Mother-in-Law

Daniel had not been himself since I started talking about visiting his mother. At first, he had thought the questions would stop after a few days. Instead, they had become part of our everyday conversations. “When did you last speak to your mother? Do you think she would want to see Liam? Do you think she would like me?” Sometimes I asked casually while we were eating. Other times, I brought it up while we were getting ready for bed. I was not trying to catch him in a lie. I simply wanted to know more about the woman who had raised the man I loved, and Daniel knew that. One evening, he sat in his study with a book open in front of him. He had been on the same page for almost twenty minutes without reading a single sentence. His eyes remained fixed on the words, but his mind was somewhere else. He had made a mistake. Maybe he should never have told me about his mother. Before that conversation, there had been questions about his family, but they had been easier to avoid. Now I kne
