Five

As Ella walked out of the mansion, she felt the happiness within her was gone. Of course, Richard had been the only happiness she had after her mother but now, he is with someone else.

While dragging her suitcase with her, her phone rang out. When she answered it and heard Jessica's voice, tears started rolling down her face.

After facing a lot of humiliation from the man she loved, she could hold herself longer after hearing Jessica's voice. She choked up and said, “Jessica”

“Hey girl, what is the matter with your voice?”

“I just got divorced! Richard just divorce me” Ella rushes her words. Having someone to ask her about what happened to her makes her lose more control of herself.

“Oh dear, I wanted to call you for something important but it seems you are not in the right mind to hear that”

Ella faltered “What are you talking about?”

“ I'm not in the hospital, so I'm free for today. Let me pick you up, just tell me where you are” Jessica responded.

Ella sniffed and was about to respond when the line cut off. Her phone had run out of battery!

“Oh gosh, what am I going to do now?”  This question she asked herself made her tears increase. She felt like the only survival she had was gone.

Ella held her suitcase tightly and glanced at the mansion for the last before stepping out of the gate. While she was crying, her mind slowly diverted to her mother. She couldn't bear to tell her the current situation she find herself in, not to talk of her pregnancy.

Ella was walking down the street and was lost in thought when a car stopped abruptly beside her.

“Hey, watch where you are going!”  The man cautioned.

Ella jolted out after hearing his voice, she felt so embarrassed to realize that she had almost gotten hit by a car. All because she was lost in thought.

“I'm so sorry Sir” She apologizes.

“Watch where you are going Okay? I almost hit you!” 

Ella pursed her lips. “So sorry about that” 

“Hey, do you cause trouble?” Jessica asks as she steps out of her car.

Jessica's voice seems to give Ella a sense of relief. Finally, her savior is here.

“I almost got hit by his car,” Ella said.

“Oh sorry about that. She has been under stress lately, I will take her with me now. Thanks so much” Jessica apologizes.

“No problem, it's fine. Just make sure she is careful next time” The man responds.

“I will”

*Jessica's Apartment*

“Will you stop crying already?” Jessica said as she tried to calm Ella down. She has been shedding tears since they got to her apartment.

“I love him with all my heart, but how could he do this to me? He hurt me!” Ella yelps in pain. Her mind was devastated at those thoughts, the man who once made her happy is now making her worth less trash. Such a tragic life of hers.

“You have to stop doing this for goodness sake! If you don't think about your health, what about the baby? Or do you want me to remind you of that again?” Jessica demand.

Ella stops crying at the moment, but in the next seconds, she burst into tears again.

“Oh girl, you are a mess right now. At this moment, we need to put some sleep into our senses. I have no choice but to do this” Jessica opens her drawer and takes his kit box. There she gets an injection and inserts it into Ella's arm. Not quite long, Ella falls asleep.

“She needs to calm down or she will injure the baby at this rate” Jessica mumbled as she lay Ella on the couch. She covers her with a blanket and takes her luggage in.

“I can't believe a jerk like that idiot still exists. He needs to be taught a bitter lesson of his life” Jessica gritted her teeth and opened her laptop.

Ella finally woke up from her long slumber, it was getting late in the night. Her body aches as she gets out of bed, she is quick to recognize Jessica's room. They had been living together before she got married to Richard, and now her life has ended back here.

The sweet aroma coming from the kitchen envelopes her nose as she walks into the sitting room.

“Oh girl, you are awake” Jessica mumbled while carrying the plate of pasta sauce. It was a spicy one.

Ella licks her lips hungrily, she loves spicy food. “Can I eat this?” She asks slowly.

Jessica chuckled and responded,” Yes, you can. Only if you promised to clear that jerk out of your head” 

“Who are you talking about? I don't know any jerk” Ella pretended and rushed over to the food.

Jessica opens her mouth in awestruck. “I can't believe my friend would forget about her first love easily because of spicy pasta sauce”

At that moment, a message bumps into Jessica's laptop. “You can continue eating, I need to change that message” Jessica turned to Ella, but she was completely into the food.

“Guess there is no need to tell you that”  Jessica mumbled and opened her laptop.

“Oh my goodness!” Jessica palms her mouth at the sight that beholds her.

Ella has no choice but to stop eating for a moment, but she is almost done eating anyway.

“What is the matter?”  She asks slowly and wipes her mouth with a tissue.

“Hey come look at this” Jessica mouthed and Ella moved closer.

Ella placed her hand on her waist, she was being dramatic as she said this. “What exactly is the problem? Did someone send you a love message or what? Finally, my friend is getting married and I got divorced. That's good anyways, I can be your marriage counselor from experience” 

“Marriage my foot! Do you think I will get married after what that jerk did to you?” Jessica scoffs with her words, “Oh c'mon, spare me that”

“Don't talk that way, you can't judge a book by its cover” Ella implied.

“Mrs counselor, call you please check this out and stop talking like an old fella” Jessica points to the laptop screen.

Ella looked at the screen and exchanged glances with Jessica.

“An Investor?”
