DAMON'S POV

Consciousness finds me first, my eyes opening to the gentle caress of morning light filtering through the half-drawn curtains. Beside me, she sleeps peacefully, her body a masterpiece against the rumpled sheets. I prop myself up on one elbow, taking in the sight of her—unclothed, vulnerable, and completely mine. The memory of last night's passion lingers in the air around us, almost tangible, like the scent of rain after a storm.

Her chest rises and falls with each breath, the rhythm steady and hypnotic. The curve of her hip, the graceful line of her spine, the golden cascade of her hair against the pillow—every detail is something I want to commit to memory forever. She looks spent, satisfied, her lips slightly parted as if still savoring the echoes of pleasure that reverberated through this room mere hours ago. We made love until we couldn't anymore, until our bodies surrendered to exhaustion but not before the very elements seemed to dance to the rhythm of our passion.

  • My Hatred, My Soulmate    Chapter 186: Lingering Doubts

SERENA'S POVWe remain frozen in a stagnant position at the entrance of the hallway, our bodies forming an unconscious circle of wariness as we look at each other with complete shock etched into our expressions. The fluorescent lights overhead cast harsh shadows across our faces, emphasizing the disbelief and confusion that radiates from each of us like heat waves rising from summer pavement.Isabella stands before us with that serene, otherworldly composure, deliberately blocking our path to our various lockers. Her presence feels like a wall we can't simply walk around, and the way she positions herself suggests she has no intention of letting us escape this conversation until she's said everything she came to say.Her dark eyes scan our faces with what appears to be genuine concern, taking in our obvious skepticism and the defensive way we're all still positioned around each other. A small frown creases her perfect features, as if our reaction

  • My Hatred, My Soulmate    Chapter 185: Unexpected Apologies

SERENA'S POVWe all remain standing frozen at the entrance of the school, our feet seemingly rooted to the polished linoleum floor as we watch Isabella's magnificent, strangely transformed presence command the attention of every single person in the hallway. She glides through the corridor with an otherworldly grace that makes her seem to float rather than walk, her movements fluid and hypnotic like a dancer performing an ancient ritual. Her dark hair catches the fluorescent lighting overhead, transforming into silk ribbons that flow behind her like liquid ebony. Each strand seems to possess its own inner luminescence, revealing the incredible amount of supernatural aura she now possesses as a witch. The very air around her seems to shimmer with energy, creating a subtle distortion that makes my eyes water if I stare too long. One look at her, and we supernaturals can immediately detect that something fundamental has shifted within her essence. • My Hatred, My Soulmate     Chapter 184: Transformation

SERENA'S POVI don't even have the chance to defend myself or attempt any form of damage control when I catch sight of Damon in the rearview mirror. The infuriating man is watching me with that mischievous expression I'm beginning to recognize all too well—a teasing glint dancing in his golden molten eyes that makes my stomach flip with a mixture of mortification and something dangerously close to affection. The corner of his mouth quirks up in the faintest suggestion of a smirk, and I can practically feel the amusement radiating off him through our newly formed bond.Heat floods my cheeks with renewed intensity, spreading down my neck and across my chest like wildfire. I'm completely flushed now, my skin burning with embarrassment as I realize he's actually enjoying my discomfort. The realization makes me want to simultaneously punch him and hide under the nearest rock until this entire situation blows over.In the front seat, Cassidy and Luna e

  • My Hatred, My Soulmate    Chapter 183: Revelations in Motion

SERENA'S POVThe moment we reach Luna's car—a sleek silver sedan that gleams under the morning sun—all four of us scramble inside with the desperate urgency of fugitives fleeing a crime scene. I slide into the passenger seat while Damon folds his tall frame into the back beside Cassidy, the leather seats creaking softly under our weight. Luna's hands grip the steering wheel with white-knuckled intensity as she reverses out of the driveway, her eyes darting nervously toward my house as if expecting Dad to come charging out after us.The engine purrs to life, and we're barely down the street when the interrogation begins."Okay, seriously," Cassidy begins, twisting in her seat to face us with wide, curious eyes that sparkle with barely contained excitement. "What in the Goddess's name did we just walk into back there? The tension in that room was so thick I could practically taste it."Luna adjusts the rearview mirror, catching my eye in t

  • My Hatred, My Soulmate    Chapter 182: Parental Intervention

SERENA'S POVDad's expression hardens, his jaw set in that familiar way that always signals trouble. I've seen this look before—that resolute determination that settles over his features when he's made up his mind about something and refuses to be swayed. Mom's hand rests lightly on his forearm, her slender fingers applying gentle pressure in what I recognize as her attempt to calm him, but he shrugs it off with a subtle movement. This time, he doesn't want to have himself influenced by Mom's potential charm, which she usually wields with expert precision to diffuse his temper."Not this time, Eleanor," he says, his voice low but carrying easily across the room. "This needs to be addressed."The morning light filtering through the tall windows casts half his face in shadow, making him appear even more intimidating as he stands there, a formidable figure between us and our escape. He seems determined to get to the bottom of whatever this is, and w

  • My Hatred, My Soulmate    Chapter 181: The Morning After

SERENA'S POVThis is absolutely ridiculous. I watch Damon moving around my bedroom with the nervous energy of prey sensing a predator nearby, and I have to bite my lower lip to keep from laughing. His eyes dart toward the door at every small creak in the old house, his shoulders tense as if preparing to defend himself against an attack that could come at any moment. I don't know why he's this strongly frightened, though I suppose I understand the source of his fear."You realize you look like you're about to jump out the window at any second, right?" I say, pulling my hair into a loose ponytail as I observe him. The morning light catches his profile, highlighting the sharp angles of his jawline now tightened with anxiety.I really don't feel any fear about facing my father. I just actually do not care what Dad thinks about what happened between Damon and me last night. It was beautiful, intense, and completely our choice. So I never ex
