Chapter 25 It was Too Complicated

He Xiaoyu’s questions made Li Mu hesitate for a long time.

After much deliberation, he finally said to He Xiaoyu, “If that is really the case then I’ll definitely leave her, but the latter question...”

“Why? Even if you leave her, you won’t be interested in me, either?” He Xiaoyu asked disappointedly.”

“No, I don’t mean that. You think too much. I think we have to get along with each other first. After all, there was an only pure friendship between us previously. We may not be able to change this in a while.”

Li Mu was very honest, and didn’t try to hide anything. He told her about all his thoughts truthfully without holding anything back.

He Xiaoyu laughed and leaned her body towards him.

Li Mu hurriedly moved to the side to avoid her, pressing his body tightly to the car door.

“What are you avoiding me?” He Xiaoyu grumbled.

"Xiaoyu, I only said that there might be a possibility between us to be more than just friends. I am still married now. Lin Wan is still my wife and we are still purely friends. Please keep your distance!"

“You think too much. I am not that casual kind of girl!”

“Yes, yes, neither am I. Neither are we!”

He Xiaoyu rolled her eyes at him and sat up straight. Then, she folded her arms across her chest and shook her head slightly.

Li Mu couldn’t help asking, “Xiaoyu, why are you still suspicious of Lin Wan? Is it because you dislike her or are there other reasons?”

 He Xiaoyu turned to take a glance at him and then looked out of the car again. After a moment of silence, she said slowly, “Li Mu, don’t you feel strange?”

“Feel strange about what?”

“Maybe it’s my intuition. Anyway, I just feel that there is something strange about this matter.”

“Are you referring to the call history in her phone? Don’t worry. I will find out more about this. If necessary, I will ask her to give me an explanation.”

“That is definitely a questionable point, but not the main one!”

“Oh!” Li Mu immediately pricked up his ears when he heard that. What he was most afraid of now was that unknown questionable point. This was his biggest concern, but also the one he was most anxious to hear about.

He didn’t respond to He Xiaoyu because he knew that she would definitely tell him about it. As expected, he only heard He Xiaoyu continued to say, “It’s too complicated!”

Meeting Li Mu’s gaze, He Xiaoyu explained, “It’s not just that she has become complicated, but this matter itself is already too complicated.”

“It’s very simple. She stayed out all night as soon as you went on a business trip, and their relationship suddenly became relatives. Don’t you think this is a bit ridiculous?”

Li Mu chuckled and patted on the steering wheel.

“You are thinking too much. There is nothing strange about that. That’s the truth. If you really have to say that it’s complicated, it’s also because it’s a coincidence.”

“Okay, even if you are right, but this is the truth! Why did she lie to you? Her so-called relatives definitely found her earlier than that day! So why couldn’t she explain everything to you before you went on your business trip?”

“Regarding this matter, Lin Wan has already explained to me,” Li Wan said to He Xiaoyu, “She is worried that her family members would come and create trouble for me, so she didn’t tell me beforehand.

“Then why did she tell you later?” He Xiaoyu asked persistently.

“Isn’t there a misunderstanding between us? She can’t hide it from me anymore, so she had no choice but to explain it clearly to me,” Li Mu replied a little impatiently.

“Li Mu, please don’t find me annoying. I just have some doubts. Let me ask you again. Will this matter cause you trouble? Has her family come and cause trouble for you?”

Li Mu froze and sat there pondering.

He Xiaoyu continued to say, “We are living in a civilized society now and everyone is free to marry whoever they want. Do you think that her family members can do anything bad?”

Seeing that Li Mu remained silent, He Xiaoyu continued seriously, “Don’t you think it’s very important for a married couple to be honest with each other? Perhaps you don’t like to hear what I am going to say, but I still have to say. I really don’t think there is a need to lie about this matter!”

Pressing his lips tightly together, Li Mu quietly listened to He Xiaoyu’s analysis with furrowed brows.

Upon seeing the look on his face, Xiao Xiaoyu decided to add fuel to fire.

“Li Mu, looking at how things are now, do you still think that Lin Wan’s parents are still the cause of your marital crisis?”

Speaking of this, she answered her question herself, “It’s not at all. Her so-called reasons are completely untenable. The cause of this marriage crisis is simply because of her secrets and lies and I am sure that she is still lying!”

“Do you have any evidence that can prove that she is lying?” Li Mu asked in a deep voice.

“Yes, using lies to cover up the truth would only mean that she has some dirty little secrets. These secrets are also the main reason she stayed out all night.

“I understand what you are saying. I just want to know if you have any evidence that can prove that she is still lying?” Li Mu asked.

“I don’t have any evidence for the time being. But don’t worry, I’ll find it!” He Xiaoyu replied confidently.

“Don’t mess around and try to frame her up,” Li Mu solemnly warned her.

 He Xiaoyu tut-tutted and said disdainfully, “I won’t use this kind of dirty tricks. I will use hard evidence to bring her down!”

In the midst of their conversation, He Xiaoyu’s cell phone rang.

He Xiaoyu got out of the car to answer the phone. After she returned to the car, she said to Li Mu with a smile, “Count yourself lucky. I’ll let you off today. Please send me home!”

“Did something happen at home?”

“Yes, I need to go home now!”

“Do you need my help?”

“No need. It’s just a small matter. I just need to go back and deal with it.”

Upon hearing that, Li Mu didn’t say anything more. He started the car engine and drove He Xiaoyu back home.

Lin Wan was conducting class in the music classroom.

 Lin Wan ignored it and continued her class until the bell rang. Then, she got up and said to the students, “Everyone, that’s all for today’s class. I will see all of you again in the next class!”

The children walked out of the classroom one after another. After they left, Lin Wan went to close the classroom door and walked to the windows. Then she put on her Bluetooth earpieces and started to fiddle with her bracelet.

A moment later, she said very unhappily, “Didn’t I tell you before not to call me when I’m in class? Don’t you remember that?”

“Ms. Lin, I have something urgent looking for you. Can we meet? Lin Kun’s voice from the earpieces.

Lin Wan frowned and replied with displeasure, “Let’s not meet each other again. My husband is already suspecting me. I don’t want to ruin my marriage.”

“Then can we still meet each other again in the future?”

“Let’s talk about that again in the future. It would be better that we don’t meet each other recently. What’s the matter?”

“It’s about those few old guys again. They have been waiting for your reply, asking whether you will accept their requests?”

“Didn’t I already tell you that their requests are too absurd and I can’t agree to them at all? That’s it. You can relay my words to them.”

“Ms. Lin, Mrs. Hong and I hope that you can think about this carefully again. You just need to keep them company for a few days. With us by your side, they won’t dare to go too far.

“Let’s stop talking about this matter. I don’t agree. You can just tell them this!” Lin Wan refused straight away.

“Ms. Lin, if you refuse them, I’m afraid...”

“Are you threatening me?”

“No, Ms. Lin. I just want to remind you that our refusal might prompt them to join forces. Once they join forces, their strength will become very strong and it’s impossible for us to fight against them at that time. If we offend them, I am worried that they will do something to harm us.”

Lin Wan fell silent. After hesitating for a long moment, she said to Lin Kun, “My decision remains the same. You go and tell them don’t ever come and bother me again. I just want to be an ordinary person.”

“Okay!” Lin Kun said helplessly, “I’ll follow your instructions!”

“Are those two people still staying at the hotel?” Lin Wan suddenly asked.

“Yes, they have good food to eat, a nice place to stay and they will still receive a sum of money after this. The two of them are really grateful to you!”

“Arrange them to put on a show. You will also leave Shanyang together with them! Lin Wan ordered.”

“Ms. Lin, are you chasing me away?” Lin Kun asked anxiously.

“Do you understand what a show is? This is just a show to make my husband think that all of you have left. Only in this way can he rest assured.”

“Lin Kun, you’ve gone too far!” Lin Wan rebuked him loudly.

“No, I am not. He is just a brainless, impulsive and paranoid man. You could have married a better man,” Lin Kun boldly expressed his thoughts.

“Lin Kun, I don’t need you to make any remark about our relationship. Remember my words. You have no right to criticize my husband!” Lin Wan responded angrily. After saying that, she hung up the phone.

After leaving the music classroom, Lin Wan found that her colleague, Ms. Tian, was wandering not far away. Upon seeing her, she immediately approached her.

“Ms. Lin, have your class ended?”

“Yes, it has ended. What are you doing there?”

Ms. Tian giggled, took her hand and said, “I’m waiting for you. What are you doing inside? I’ve been waiting for you for so long.”

Lin Wan didn't answer her question and asked confusedly, "Why are you waiting for me?

“Don’t tell me that you have forgotten it? Oh gosh. You are beautiful but have a bad memory. I just told you about it two days ago, but you have already forgotten it today? Is it because you are not interested at all?”

"What is it?" Lin Wan asked apologetically as she still couldn't remember what she had told her.

“It’s about being Lu Jiaxue’s home tutor. Have you thought about it? The little girl is still waiting for your reply.” Seeing that Lin Wan really couldn’t remember it, Ms. Tian asked her directly.

Lin Wan blushed and looked at him with embarrassment.

After discussing with her husband, she really didn’t think about this matter again. She had really forgotten about it when she woke up the next day.
