Chapter 6

Cassie POV

Vasilios's words sent a shockwave through my body, part of me wanting to fall into his arms and apologise for ever running away. But the bigger part of me wanted to reach out and slap him.

I'd lived in fear of him finding me for almost three years, and he managed to just waltz back into my life as if nothing had happened between us.

“Do you not understand me?” Vasilios said slowly as he glared at the death grip the woman had on my wrist, “I told you to take your hands off of my wife.”

She let me go as if touching me had burned her, the blood draining from her face in fear. “I'm so sorry, Mr. Kythira. I was unaware that Mrs. Kythira was joining you.”

“Don't call me that,” the words shot out of my mouth before I could stop them, causing an unsure look to flash across the woman's face - and I was forced to add to my words. “Mrs. Kythira is my mother in law. I've never grown used to that title.”

The woman's face pulled up into a sorry excuse for a smile before she apologise

She should remind Vasilios of what he did when they got married! Running off to one of his club’s and that’s why she ran away. Great book so far!
