Chapter 42

Author: Max Dare
Ray didn't stop Keisha.

After more than a month together, he even asked Keisha for her address and mailed her quite a few things. When she received them, she naturally only felt grateful for her generous "sugar daddy," never suspecting anything.

Back when he'd never tasted that kind of pleasure, it was fine. But now that he'd experienced it, being alone again felt strangely empty. He couldn't help but miss it.

He had to endure it a little longer.

Once the natural disasters started, first, there would be no police on duty. Second, it wouldn't just be clubs that had pretty girls—plenty of beautiful young wives and unmarried girls would become very open.

Survival was human instinct, the most basic need that overrode everything else.

Of course, Ray didn't deny that some people were noble, valuing purity and reputation more than life itself.

He would never force anyone. He would only make exchanges.

He had been hurt once, and it had been far too deep. He didn't need emotions anymor

A full half hour passed before the six men's groans finally began to subside.Ray had even brought over a small space heater, mainly to warm his own hands, but it also kept Moe and the others from freezing to death."Now listen up," Ray said calmly. "I have a job for you. Get it done, and this crate of instant noodles and water is yours. Fail… or try to pull anything…" He smiled faintly. "Feel free to test me."Moe didn't immediately agree or refuse. Instead, he asked, "What do you want us to do?"There was no harm in asking. Besides, they needed time to recover.Ray grinned. "Go to Building 11, Unit 302. There are four people inside—an old couple, and a brother and sister. I want each of you to take a turn with all four of them." He gestured to a small box. "Here—four condoms per person. When you're done, bring the used ones back as proof, and you get your reward."That was… Ray's ex-wife's family, wasn't it?Moe and the other five sucked in a sharp breath. Ray was truly ruthle

Just over ten minutes later, Moe and Old Larry emerged, leaving the door slightly ajar. Through the crack, they could see Miley lying on the bed, expressionless, almost corpse-like.But neither Moe nor Larry paid her any mind. The six of them had rested briefly, skipping dinner and enduring the gnawing hunger.Moe certainly wasn't going to part with his own food, and the others had brought nothing to eat, so they just gritted their teeth. Once Ray was dealt with, they could feast. They waited. And waited. Finally, midnight arrived."Let's move out!" Moe barked. The six men set off, and Moe didn't even bother locking the door behind him—he wasn't worried about Miley escaping. After all, his goal was to seize Ray's townhouse for himself. They reached the garage. The beams of their flashlights cut through the darkness as they made their way down to the basement level of Ray's unit.Staring at the reinforced steel door, Moe sneered. "Larry, you're up.""No problem," Old Larry repli

Honey and Amanda left, carrying Ray's advice with them. "Keep the doors tightly shut," he said. "Don't open them for anyone, and before stepping outside, make sure no one is lurking around."The latter, of course, was highly unlikely. The cold was unbearable.Senna City had never seen temperatures plunge below minus ten degrees. Winter clothing was practically useless. A quick stroll outside was tolerable—but lingering? No one could survive that long. And if it ever dropped to minus forty or fifty? The frigid air could damage lungs within minutes. Twenty minutes, tops, and a person's internal organs would begin to fail. Death wouldn't be surprising. So, caution before venturing out was all that was necessary.Ray was being so meticulous because Honey was attractive, with a figure that made him reluctant to lose her—even temporarily. If someone else forced themselves on her, he'd have no reason to want her anymore. He paused, thinking. After publicly killing Justin, he had effect

The beam from the flashlight hit Justin square in the eyes. Even shielding his face with his hands did nothing. He stumbled backward until he slammed against the hallway wall.A harsh, swinging beam of light cut through the darkness, and Ray stepped out."Quite the appetite you have," he said coldly."Ray, I'll kill you!" Justin roared, swinging his cleaver wildly toward the source of the light. He couldn't even see where Ray was—he was just hacking at the brightness—but by now, rage had completely clouded his mind.Ray smirked, then kicked out sharply.Justin couldn't see it coming, but he felt it. A solid impact slammed into his gut, sending him staggering backward until he finally tumbled out of the hallway and collapsed on the floor. The cleaver clattered beside him.Ray stepped forward and casually picked it up, then held it steadily in front of Justin's face.Still dazed, Justin blinked. The blade was right there. He almost pissed himself. The bravado fueled by his earl

There was not a single man in the neighborhood who hadn't fantasized about Honey. But where was the opportunity? And now, Honey was actually sleeping with Ray?Heavens—what a lucky son of a gun!Wasn't this the end of the world? Wasn't everyone's money just worthless numbers on a screen now?So why was Honey still letting Ray have her?A wave of intense curiosity swept through the crowd. One by one, they trailed after Justin, though no one dared get too close, afraid Justin might snap and start swinging that cleaver wildly.Justin stumbled into the dark corridor. His phone had long died, leaving him no source of light. Blinded by rage, he charged forward recklessly in the dark and slammed headfirst into a wall. The impact only fueled his fury, and he began cursing under his breath nonstop. Finally, his hands found the steel door, and he started hacking at it with the cleaver."Ray! You bastard, you slept with my wife? Get the hell out here! I'm going to chop you into pieces!"

  • My Reborn Apocalypse Begins with a Divorce   Chapter 65

Honey and Amanda made their way home, nerves stretched tight the entire time.To be honest, even before the disaster, they wouldn't have felt this tense carrying ten thousand dollars in cash.Back then, social order had been too good. No one would dare commit a street robbery in broad daylight. But now? For a single bite of food or a single swallow of water, people would pounce like starving wolves.Once they got home, both women took out the food, finally relaxing as if a heavy weight had been lifted off their shoulders.Justin frowned and asked, "Why were you gone so long?"Honey replied awkwardly, "There's hardly any food now. They didn't want to sell at first. We had to beg and negotiate before they finally agreed."This time, Justin was not so easy to fool."Who would be stupid enough now to sell their food and water?" he demanded.Honey quickly shot Amanda a look, signaling her to help back up the lie.But before Amanda could speak, Justin suddenly grabbed Honey and sni
