"I don't understand, Jason. Whether I love Raymond or not doesn't matter—we have no relationship. You're the one who rejected me. Don't you remember?"

"Because you cheated on me with your mate!" Jason shouted, his voice echoing with anger. His brown eyes burned with an emotion I couldn't quite understand.

"I've explained this before—I was set up!" I snapped back.

But I didn't want to keep revisiting the past. "That's enough, Jason. Your fiancée is Beth. If you want to bring up the past, there's nothing left to talk about."

"Caitlyn!" He grabbed my wrist, his grip strong, his actions confusing me even more.

"If you want... we can start over."

"Are you out of your mind?" I stared at him in disbelief. "Your mate is Beth!"

"What if..." he hesitated, his voice lower, "I didn't have a choice?"

His gaze softened, filled with sadness—a vulnerability I'd never seen in him before.

Jason seemed fragile in that moment.

For a split second, I was stunned. "Are you... okay?" I asked hesitantly, stepping closer to him.

But I was wrong to approach.

A piercing scream shattered the calm.

It was Beth. Her sharp voice cut through the air, drawing everyone on the beach toward us.

"You seduced my fiancé, you slut!" Beth screamed, stabbing the air in my direction.

Her eyes were wild, red with fury.

As everyone stared, I realized how it looked. Jason had been standing close to me—too close. To them, it probably seemed like I had started it.

"No! I didn't! Jason said he wanted to talk to me!" I tried to explain, but Beth wasn't listening.

She grabbed Jason's arm, glaring at me. "You betrayed Jason! How could he approach you? Someone saw it—they said you made up some excuse to get him alone, tricking him into leaving with you!"

"I didn't do that! Jason!" I shouted, looking at him, but his attitude had completely shifted. He became cold and said nothing further.

I understood. Once again, I had been framed.

A year ago, after I left with that stranger, I had seen the same indifferent Jason.

I was such a fool to have believed him when he was so good at deceiving others.

"You despicable woman! You're still trying to deny it!" Beth sneered, raising her hand to slap me, but the strike never came.

A man in a wheelchair intervened, stopping her—Raymond.

He caught Bella's wrist effortlessly, his expression cold as ice. "If you want to hit my wife, you better have a good reason."

"She seduced my fiancé, Mr. Raymond!" Beth pointed at me.

I met her gaze without flinching. "No, I didn't! My bond with Jason ended a year ago. We are strangers now. It was him who approached me!"

"I believe my wife," Raymond stated, his voice firm.

I looked at him, astonished. He believed me.

"I think it's time for you all to leave," Raymond ordered, his expression darkening and a hint of anger flashing in his eyes.

And for the first time, I didn't see him as a rogue.

The commanding aura he exuded felt much more like that of an alpha.

Bella looked at him in disbelief. "You're going to believe her? She's a liar, a thief! Mr. Raymond don't say I didn't warn you. Caitlyn betrayed Jason a year ago. She could do the same to you. After all, she's nothing but a whore!"

"Enough of you! Leave now!" Raymond cur her off, his voice hard and commanding.

Beth was stunned and froze. She didn't expect to be shut down by a rogue, let alone be treated like this.

She gave Raymond a pointed look. "Let's go."

With that, she led Jason and the others away, casting me one last fierce glare as if warning me that this wasn't over.

After they left, I turned to Raymond. "I didn't do it."

"I believe you," he said, his voice softening, just like before.

I was a little touched. I didn't expect Raymond to believe me.

"You should thank your friend. She's the one who brought me here." Raymond nodded toward Eileen, who was standing behind him.

Eileen spoke up. "I saw Beth leading a group straight towards you, and I got worried. So, I found Mr. Raymond. Like you said, he was the right choice. It's just too bad he's not your mate."

She lowered her voice on the last part.

"But maybe you should ask him if he's met his mate."

Her words made me pause. Rejected werewolves rarely find a second mate in their lifetime. Like me, I had already given up on meeting mine.

But Raymond? Had he already met his first mate? If so, did they break up?

"It's okay. If that day comes, it just means we're not meant to be," I said, smiling at Eileen.

"You're still so optimistic," Eileen said with a smile. "Well, I should get going. The professor has no idea I haven't finished my assignment." She rolled her eyes, clearly tired of the endless tasks.

"See you next time," she added with a wave before heading off.

After seeing Eileen leave, I walked toward Raymond, sitting in the garden with a book, surrounded by roses. He looked like a prince.

"I appreciate what you did today," I said, walking up to him.

Raymond closed the book and looked at me. "No need to thank me. You're my wife, aren't you?"

I smiled. Raymond was always like this—he had a way of making me feel warm. He was so nice.

But I always felt something was wrong. It was my wolf's instinct. Raymond seemed to be hiding something from me.

This time, I wanted to ask if he would like to come with me to meet her. I planned to introduce him to her.

I didn't bring up the topic of Raymond's mate. We weren't close enough yet, and asking him such a personal question so suddenly might make him uncomfortable.

Raymond quickly set aside a day for the visit. With the driver, we headed to the forest where my grandmother lived.

Rogues typically choose to live alone, cutting off from other wolf packs.

My grandmother was no different. She lived in a small cabin on the outskirts of the forest.

Soon, the Lamborghini Urus rumbled through the woods.

From a distance, I saw my grandmother sitting in a chair, knitting a scarf. The sunlight bathed her in a warm glow.

I leaned out of the car window and called out, "Grandma!"

She raised her head, a smile lighting up her weathered face. "Caitlyn."

I didn't forget to help Raymond out of the car.

Sitting in his wheelchair, he still looked pale.

I turned to him and said, "Good news, Grandma seems to be in a clear state today. Sometimes, she'll lose her mind after becoming a rogue."

As we approached the small cabin, I introduced Raymond to my grandmother. "This is Raymond Anderson, my... husband."

"Raymond?" Grandma, her memory fading, adjusted her glasses, squinting at Raymond. "Raymond Anderson from the Silver Moon Pack?"

"Do you know him, Grandma?" I asked, surprised.

Grandma smiled warmly. "Of course I do. Your engagement was promised through your parents' blood oath. It's been a long time since I've heard the Anderson name."

She sighed, her eyes distant for a moment.

Raymond gave a polite smile. "Grandma."

Her smile grew wider. "Today, I'm in a good mood. I'll make my specialty stew for you both."

With that, she walked towards the house.

I whispered to Raymond, "It's basically just vegetables and lamb in a pot, then butter and chopped parsley added at the end."

"You don't sound too excited about it," he teased.

"It's fine, just don't complain," I replied with a grin, sticking my tongue out at him.

"I won't," Raymond said, his voice as gentle as ever.

I felt lucky to have a fiancé like him.

Grandma's cabin was small but cozy, the sunlight filtering in and landing on the sunflowers on the table.

I loved it here. It smelled like Grandma, like family.

Sadly, I rarely got to visit. Beth would always find ways to stop me.

"Would you like to go outside and take a look? There's a beautiful lake just over there."

"Sure, I'll follow your lead."

I pushed Raymond's wheelchair toward the lake. This part of the forest was far from other wolf packs, but the scenery was breathtaking. The canopy of trees was so thick it almost covered the blue sky, leaving only slivers of it visible.

The lake itself was crystal clear, reflecting the sky above.

It felt cooler by the lake, and the only sounds were the soft chirping of birds and the gentle flow of water.

I spread my arms out and closed my eyes. "Isn't it peaceful here?"

"Yes, very peaceful," Raymond agreed.

I continued to push him along the shore, the cool breeze brushing against our faces. Raymond suddenly asked, "Don't you have anything you want to ask me?"

I opened my mouth, torn between lying and telling the truth. But when I met his green eyes, I felt I couldn't hide anything. "There are many things I want to ask, but I don't want you to feel obligated to tell me just because we're married. If you want to tell me, you'll do it when you're ready."

I heard Raymond let out a low, steady laugh that vibrated through his chest. His voice was deep and commanding, with a smoothness that made it hard to ignore.

Oh my, is he like this in bed too?

  • My Second Mate Is Alpha King   Chapter 155 And We Chose Love

Caitlyn's POVTime had passed. The world was still quiet—peaceful, even. Not perfect, but alive. I walked through the heart of Eldoria, my footsteps soft on the stone paths that had replaced the battlefields. What once was a place of endless fight had now become a sanctuary, not just for wolves, but for anyone who had lived through the darkness. The grounds were lined with flowers, the scent of earth and life filling the air. The stone paths wound through trees that now stood tall and strong, as if they, too, had found the strength to stand in the sun after so many years of shadow.I stopped at the tree—the one where Raymond and I had first truly connected, where we had both bared our souls to each other for the first time. Our initials were carved into the bark, faint but enduring. The mark of our bond, written into the very heart of Eldoria, glowing softly with the magic we had chosen together.Raymond appeared beside me, his presence solid, steady. We

  • My Second Mate Is Alpha King   Chapter 154 The Song of the Moonborn

Caitlyn's POVRaymond and I returned to Eldoria, not as conquerors, not as the chosen, but as two wolves who had learned the weight of love and the freedom it could bring. We had the glyphs of legacy in our possession, the knowledge of the old ones who had come before us, and we knew what we had to do next.We established the Moon Archive. A place of truth. A living library of stories written not by victors, but by those who had survived the wars—the ones who had endured the pain, the loss, and the hope. We invited wolves of all kinds—rogue, pureblood, mixed—to contribute their stories. Their grief. Their joy. Every piece of truth, every memory, every tale would live on here.It didn’t matter who we were before. All that mattered now was who we were going to become. The young ones gathered around me as I read aloud the story of the Prime Wolf—not as a monster, not as an enemy—but as a warning. A lesson on the dangers of fear. Fear of what love could do, how it c

  • My Second Mate Is Alpha King   Chapter 153 The Trial of Two

Caitlyn's POVThe cloaked figure before us was silent for a long time. When it finally spoke, its voice was low, almost a whisper carried on the wind. "Love forged in fire can still blind," it said, eyes glowing with an intensity that matched the weight of its words. "Before you lead others into peace, you must face one last Trial of Two."I exchanged a glance with Raymond, unsure of what was coming next, but resolute in my belief that we could face whatever it was together. The figure’s next words, though, sent a shiver through me.“The trial is not a battle,” the figure continued. “It is a mirror walk. You will each face your own labyrinth, built from your fears, your regrets, your choices. And you must find each other in the center—not by memory, but by feeling. By the bond you share."Raymond and I stood there for a moment, the weight of the trial sinking in. This wasn’t something that could be fought. We couldn’t rely on strength or weapons. We had t

  • My Second Mate Is Alpha King   Chapter 152 Echoes of the Forgotten

Caitlyn's POVThe dreams started creeping back in, and this time, they weren't about the Prime Wolf. No, this was something older, something deeper, something that stirred in the shadows of my mind. I saw ruins—crumbling structures long forgotten by time. I heard whispers, foreign and ancient, speaking in tongues that made my skin prickle. And always, there was a throne, made of ashes and bone, sitting in the center of it all.I woke from one such dream with a sense of unease. It wasn't fear, not exactly, but something close—something that warned me. These weren’t just memories. These were messages. A reminder, perhaps, of something buried beneath everything we thought we had finished with.I confided in Raymond the next morning. He listened carefully, as always, his brow furrowed in thought, but there was no panic in his gaze. "Maybe we need to look at it differently," he suggested quietly. "Not as warriors, but as historians. Let's seek knowledge, not weapons.

  • My Second Mate Is Alpha King   Chapter 151 The Quiet Between Heartbeats

Caitlyn's POVFor the first time in months, the world was quiet. There were no whispers of the Prime Wolf, no prophecies hanging over us, no battles to fight. The moon glowed silver, not red. The night felt like it had finally exhaled, and I couldn’t help but let myself breathe in the peace.I woke slowly, lazily entangled in Raymond’s arms. There were no nightmares, no rushing thoughts of a future I couldn’t control. There was only warmth, the softness of his skin against mine, and the quiet, peaceful rhythm of our breathing.I couldn’t remember the last time I felt this calm. It had been a long time since I was able to just exist—without the weight of the world on my shoulders. The future didn’t feel so heavy anymore. I could almost taste the freedom, and it was sweet.I spent my days reacquainting myself with life outside of battle. I helped with the pack children, playing with them, teaching them the things they would need to know to grow up in this n

  • My Second Mate Is Alpha King   Chapter 150 The World We Choose

Caitlyn's POVI walked through the heart of Eldoria with Raymond at my side, my steps light despite the weight of everything we had been through. For the first time, I didn’t feel like the prophecy’s child, or a weapon made to be wielded. I was simply Caitlyn. Just Caitlyn. And I stood there not as a chosen one, but as a leader by choice, as Alpha by choice. The people were bowing, as they had always done. And as they did, I stopped. I looked at them—at my people—and I didn’t feel the need to make them kneel anymore. I wasn’t the ruler they feared. I wasn’t here to hold them under my thumb. I wanted something different. I wanted them to stand beside me, not in submission, but in strength.“I want your loyalty, not your fear,” I said, my voice clear and strong. “I want your hands, not your knees.”The air shifted as my words settled into the space between us. There was no more need for the o
