“I’ll be in the room,” I said, and then turned to leave, but he pulled me back and rose to his feet.

“What is it? Talk to me, I thought we’re good now, why are you being this way then? Just tell me what it is?” He let out and, looking in his eyes, I felt like landing a hot slap on his face.

I mean, the audacity to even say it out loud that he thinks we are good now. Of course, I thought so too, until he decided to make a fool of me for the umpteenth time. If only I could just stop loving him. I wish I could then maybe it would be so easy to just walk away from all this. It’s so tiring giving all of my heart just to get bits in return.

“Of course, we’re good, there’s nothing wrong with me. I think I’m just under the weather, that’s all. You know, the weekend was a lot…” I said while he looked at me intensely and then smiled.

“Okay, eat with me then. And before you say no, just know I’m not going to take any other answer than a yes. So sit right here beside me and eat with me,” he
