Aria’s POV

It’s been two weeks.

Fourteen days since the parking lot.

Fourteen days since Damian and I kissed.

Since then? Nothing.

He doesn’t speak to me, doesn’t look at me, doesn’t acknowledge that I breathe oxygen in his penthouse.

My tasks appear under my door, typed with his signature on it.

He fired Smith. The tabloids called it “Kane Enterprise Restructures.” Stock dipped 2%. Then recovered. Like Malakai Smith never existed.

Pretending it never happened would be smart.

But I tried.

Day three, I stayed in my room. Day seven, I ate dinner in the kitchen at 2 AM. Day ten, I started flinching at his footsteps.

Today is day fourteen and I’m done flinching.

If he wants to pretend I’m a liability he’s already eliminated, fine.

I step back from the mirror.

I take in my reflection, I’m wearing a pencil dress that stops halfway down my thighs, with a low neckline.

There’s no way he can look through me in this.

If he’s going to burn me, I’m going to make sure he feels the heat.

I open the door.

Luca’s there.

Hand raised, like he was about to knock.

His eyes drop. Then stop. Then drag back up, slower.

“Wow.” His voice cracks. “Ari, you look…”

He doesn’t finish.

His throat bobs. He shoves his hands in his pockets like he doesn’t trust them.

Heat floods my cheeks.

If I can short-circuit Luca, who flirts with baristas for sport, then what will this do to Damian?

“You good?” I whisper.

He exhales like I punched him. “No. But you will be.” A beat. “Uh. That reminds me. Damian wants you. Study.” His eyes flick down again, then back to mine. Apologetic. Feral. “When you’re done… come to the kitchen. I made breakfast.”

“Thanks.” The word’s thin.

I walk away, and I feel his eyes on me as I sway my hips.

The study is ten degrees colder than the hall.

I knock. Once.

“Enter.”

I step in slowly. Count the coffee cups. Three. His eyes are bloodshot. His hair’s a mess. He looks like shit. Good.

“You called for me, sir,” I say the word sir laced with false sweetness.

His head snaps up.

His gaze does what Luca’s did moving down and up but slower.

His lips go thin. Like his restraining himself.

“West Corp monthly report,” he says. Voice scraped raw. “You didn’t send it.”

Liar.

“I sent it yesterday.” My voice shakes. I hate that it shakes. “Want me to show you?” I move around the desk before he can answer.

I bend for the mouse. I know exactly what he sees. I wore this dress for him.

He licks his lips. Swallows hard. Then his face shutters.

His knuckles go white on the mahogany. Gripping the desk like it’s the only thing stopping him from grabbing me instead.

“Why are you dressed like this?”

I straighten. Spine like steel. “What do you mean, sir?”

His eyes are winter. “Do you think seducing me will get you anywhere?” Silence. “That kiss was a mistake. You need to let it go.”

Mistake.

The word doesn’t land. It detonates.

“I—”

“You look like a hooker,” he says. Flatly.

“Is that what you want? For my brothers to see you like this? For the board to think I can’t control my staff?”

The air gets sucked out of the room. Out of me.

Tears burn my eyes, I blink hard to well it in.

I fumble for the mouse, vision swimming, but I find the file. I shove the laptop at him so hard it skids. “There. Sent. 4:17 PM. CC’d .” My voice breaks on his name. “Happy?”

“Anything else, sir?” I choke it out.

His jaw ticks. For one, insane second, his mask cracks. Regret. Something worse.

Then it’s gone.

“You can leave.“ he says. “And go change.”

I turn towards the exit and run.

Stupid. Stupid. Stupid. The word beats in time with my heels. Why did I think—

I slam into a wall of muscle. Hands catch me before I fall.

I look up. Luca.

“Ari.” Just my name. But it sounds like a prayer.

“What’s wrong?”

That’s it. The dam breaks. I collapse into his chest, fists grabbing his shirt like he’s the only solid thing left.

“He called me—” The word sticks. Chokes me. I can’t make it real.

“It’s okay,” Luca breathes into my hair. One hand splays between my shoulder blades. Big. Warm. Steady. “I heard him, sweetheart. Every word. Breathe for me.”

He’s shaking so hard with rage seeing me cry.

I tilt my face up, tears soaking his collar. “Why does he hate me?”

Luca’s thumb catches a tear. His eyes aren’t warm anymore. They’re black fire. “He doesn’t hate you, Aria.” His voice is like gravel. “That’s the fucking problem.”

He pulls me closer. Close enough that his heart hammers against mine.

“He doesn’t get to talk to what’s ours like that,” Luca says. Quiet. Deadly. A promise written in blood. “Not ever again.”

  • OWNED BY FOUR BILLIONAIRES    CHAPTER TEN: DINNER WITH MR SMITH

Aria’s POV I swallow nervously, my throat suddenly becoming dry. “I just saved your merger. You’re welcome.” The words come out steadier than I feel. His eyes don’t leave mine cold and calculating. I wait. One second. Two. The study is so quiet I could hear the clock behind his desk. “You didn’t save anything, ” His voice is ice. “You handed me a bigger problem. Malakai Smith crucifies dishonesty. He makes examples out of liars.” My stomach drops. “Then we make him believe it’s true,” I say. Fast. Before I lose nerve. “For now.” He stares. One full minute. Like he’s running valuations in his head. “And then what?” I force my chin up. “We break up. After the project closes, the tabloids will eat that up.” I’m selling him a PR strategy to cover my ass. And his. “Get out.” I don’t wait to be told twice. I turn before he sees my hands shake. I make it to my room before my knees give in. I hit the bed face-firs

  • OWNED BY FOUR BILLIONAIRES    CHAPTER NINE: THE MEETING

Damian’s POV I’m pacing. Four steps to the window. Four steps back. The glass of whiskey on my desk is untouched. The merger file sits in my hands like a prop. I’ve read it three times already, but haven’t absorbed a word. I pick up the whiskey, needing something to do with my hands. And then I hear a knock. “Come in.” I already know it’s her. No one in this house knocks. The door opens. Aria steps inside. Hair down, in Soft shirt and old Pants that are too casual for a boardroom and too familiar for my bedroom. I force my eyes back to the file. If I look too long, she’ll see it. “Sir, what would you like me to do?” Her voice is careful, keeping it Professional. It should cool me down. But It doesn’t. Because do is a dangerous word when she’s standing in my room at night and I’ve been thinking about her thigh under my hand for the last hour. This was a mistake. I need s

  • OWNED BY FOUR BILLIONAIRES    CHAPTER EIGHT: AFTER HOURS

Aria’s pov I sit in my office, watching the seconds drag. After the morning disaster with Luca, the grease-stained merger, and Noah— Especially Noah — I just want this day over. The board meeting nearly killed me. Damian’s eyes were on me the whole time, like he knew clause four had almost been ruined. I’m so tired my bones ache. I stare at the clock, as soon as it hits 4 PM. I’m up instantly. Bag. Phone. Keys. I shove the clean merger file into my drawer and lock it. A soft knock at the door. “Come in,” I call, expecting Sarah from accounting. The door opens. Damian fills the frame. Suited. Silent. Too big for my office and my nerves. “What do you need, Sir?” My voice is sugar-coated glass. Fake nice. Because I’m too tired to fight today. He doesn’t answer right away. His eyes do a slow sweep of my desk, the packed bag. Cataloging. He clears his throat. “I w

  • OWNED BY FOUR BILLIONAIRES    CHAPTER SEVEN: THE MISTAKE

Aria’s POV What am I going to do? Shit. Damian is going to lose it. I stare at the grease stain blooming across clause four of the merger addendum. Black ink, now smeared. How do I explain this? Sorry, your brother dripped grease on the new merger deal? I check my watch. Fifty-two minutes until the board meeting. Okay. Breathe. Reprint. I shove out of my office, eyes locked on the paper, scanning the stain like it might disappear if I glare hard enough. I slam into something broad. Solid. A wall that smells like cedar and ink. The file slips and the papers scatter everywhere. My stomach drops. I look up. Noah. His pale eyes track me with some intrigue. He doesn’t bend down to help. “I’m so sorry,” I blurt, dropping to my knees to snatch the papers. “I was in a hurry—” He steps closer and I freeze. I think he’ll leave it at that. Noah Reyes usually does. But he doesn’t move.

  • OWNED BY FOUR BILLIONAIRES    CHAPTER SIX

Aria’s POV The Kane Enterprise building cut the sky in half. Noah parked in a reserved slot three spaces from the main entrance and killled the engine. Silence immediately filled the car. Thicker than it was on the highway. I had my hand on the door handle before he moved. I needed air and space from his engulfing presence. The door opened with that same quiet, expensive thud. I stepped out of the car with shaky. Like I’d been holding my breath for twenty minutes. I didn’t look back. I made it three steps before his voice hit my spine. “Miss Sinclair.” He called out to me. I turned. He was already out of the SUV. Tablet in hand. Walking toward the private elevator like I wasn’t there. Like I hadn’t just spent twenty minutes dissecting his reflection. I followed quietly behind him. We step inside the lobby. The lobby w
