Aurora's POV

"I'm pregnant, Diego," I said as he moved to walk out of the room.

He stood still, turning slowly to look at my crumpled figure on the floor.

"You're what?" He asked, walking back to me.

"I said I'm pregnant Diego," I added, watching the reaction on his face.

"That was a joke right?"He asked again,  crouching to my level. My insides clenched with pain as I stared at Diego, not willing to believe that the look on his face was pure loathe.

"It is not a joke, I was coming from the hospital to tell you that I was pregnant when I met you and Lillian...." I whimpered as he  grabbed my arms, his fingers hard enough that I could feel my bones crushing

"Abort it."

I stared at him, my breath catching in my throat.

"What?" I whispered, my voice barely audible over the ringing in my ears.

His grip tightened, his fingers digging into my arms like vices. "I said, abort it."

A cold shudder ran through me. I searched his face for something—anything—that would tell me he didn’t mean it. That this was some cruel test. That the man I had once loved wasn’t capable of such heartlessness.

But all I saw was indifference.

"Diego, this is our child," I said, my voice trembling. "How can you even—"

"Do not say that," he snapped, shaking me slightly. "It’s not our child. It’s a mistake. A problem that needs to be taken care of before it ruins everything."

Ruins everything?

My stomach turned, bile rising in my throat.

"You mean before it ruins things with Lillian," I said, my voice cracking.

His jaw clenched, but he didn’t deny it. My heart shattered into a million pieces.

"I won’t do it," I whispered, shaking my head. "I won’t kill my baby."

His eyes darkened. A muscle ticked in his jaw, and for a moment, I thought he might hit me. But then he exhaled sharply, releasing his grip on my arms so suddenly that I nearly fell back.

"If you don't do it, I promise I'll do it for you," He said, walking close

I scrambled back, pressing myself against the cold floor as Diego loomed over me, his shadow swallowing the dim light in the room.

"You wouldn't," I whispered, though the trembling in my voice betrayed the fear clawing at my chest.

His lips curled into a smirk, one that held no warmth. "You really think so, Aurora?" he murmured, crouching again, his face inches from mine.

I could feel his breath, hot and suffocating, as his fingers trailed up my arm—not with tenderness, but with a quiet, deliberate cruelty.

"You don’t get it, do you?" he said, his voice almost amused. "I don’t want a child with you. I don’t need one."

My hands instinctively flew to my stomach, a protective reflex I hadn’t even realized I had.

Something in his gaze flickered—annoyance, maybe even anger—before his hand lashed out, gripping my wrist so tightly I gasped.

"You think that’s going to stop me?" he hissed. "You think this—" he jabbed a finger toward my stomach "—gives you some kind of power over me?"

Tears welled in my eyes, blurring his face, and I held my shoulder up to wipe the tears off my face.

"I don’t need power over you, Diego," I said, forcing my voice to stay steady. "I just want to keep the baby and I will...

His eyes darkened further, and before I could react, the back of his hand struck my cheek with a sharp crack.

Pain exploded across my face, my head snapping to the side as a choked sob escaped my lips.

"Stupid girl," he muttered, standing to his full height. "You think you get to make demands? I own every single breath you take Aurora, and if I say that thing doesn’t get to live, then it doesn’t get to live."

I clutched my stinging cheek, blinking past the dizziness as his words sliced through me like a jagged glass of his betrayal.

"Did your mistress make you do this? Lillia must have told you that she wanted to carry your first child, is it not, so that she'll get to take over your properties, is it not?" I retorted.

He turned back towards me, staring down at me with a mocking glare.

"Turns out you were not that stupid after all," He said, holding his hands out as they reached for my neck.

Diego's fingers wrapped around my throat, cold and merciless. My body seized with panic as his grip tightened, his thumbs pressing into the delicate hollow beneath my jaw.

I gasped, clawing at his hands, my nails digging into his skin, but he didn’t flinch. His face remained eerily calm as if he were simply adjusting his cufflinks instead of choking the life out of me.

A strangled cry tried to escape my lips, but it was smothered by the crushing force of his hands. My lungs burned, desperate for air, and my vision was already slurred with black spots.

"Stupid girl," he murmured, his voice smooth, almost soothing. "Did you really think you had a choice?"

I kicked frantically, my heels scraping against the cold floor, my body thrashing in a desperate bid for survival. But he was stronger—so much stronger. His grip was unwavering, tightening with each passing second.

My chest heaved, my heartbeat hammering in my ears like a war drum. My fingers grew weaker as they scratched feebly at his wrists, my strength fading along with the last bits of oxygen in my lungs.

Tears streamed down my cheeks, hot and useless. A horrifying realization settled in my mind.

He wasn’t going to stop.

He was going to kill me.

The black spots in my vision spread, swallowing the dim light of the room. My limbs grew heavy, my body slumping against his hold. A deep, primal fear clawed at my insides as my consciousness flickered in and out like a dying candle.

Then, just as the darkness threatened to take me, he released me.

I collapsed to the floor like a ragdoll, my body limp and lifeless. My chest convulsed as I sucked in a desperate, ragged breath, coughing violently as air flooded my lungs.

My throat burned, raw, and bruised, every inhale a fresh wave of agony. My body trembled, weak and useless, as I lay sprawled on the floor like discarded trash.

Above me, Diego exhaled sharply, shaking out his hands as if ridding himself of an inconvenience.

"Pathetic," he muttered.

He nudged my side with his foot, watching with cold detachment as I flinched at the slightest touch.

"Let this be a lesson, Aurora," he continued, crouching so that his face was level with mine. His voice was calm, almost gentle, but his eyes held nothing but cruelty.

"You will do as I say. Or next time, I won’t let go."

With that, he stood and turned away, leaving me crumpled on the floor

"Aurora's POV ""Lira," I called, holding her fingers."This other place, so you know where it is? The location?" I asked."N-no-no,""Think about it, maybe a signal, a name, a street, location, a secret code, we know now that there's another location they use, but it's vague, the search, if not fruitless, it's going to be hard, so I need you to give us something..."“Lira,” I said again, firmer this time, holding her fingers so she wouldn’t pull away. “This other place they use. You said you heard them talk about it. Not where you were kept. The other one.”She swallowed. Her eyes shifted, not in panic, just searching.“They didn’t take me there,” she said quickly. “But they talked about it. When they thought I was asleep.”“Talked how?” I asked. “Arguing? Planning? Bragging?”“Planning,” she said. “Like… who was going to handle deliveries there. Who was on rotation.”My grip tightened. “Names. Did you hear any names?”She nodded slowly. “Kade. And someone called Roman. They said Rom

Nestore’s POVI sent a message to Aurora, to tell her we were already heading home and a small tired smile pulled from my lips as she met us in the hallway before we even reached the living room. Her eyes went straight to the case in my hand.“Did you—” Her voice broke, just a little. She stopped herself. “Did you get it?”Nevio lifted the case slightly. “Ten. Sealed.”She exhaled like she’d been holding her breath since yesterday."I'll bring her," Aurora said and turned away to lira's room, knocking softly on the door before she pushed it open.“It’s me,” she said gently. “We’re coming in.” Aurora's said and after a few seconds, she walked in to Lira's on the edge of the bed.Her eyes went straight to the case.“What’s that?” she asked, barely above a whisper.Aurora sat beside her. "It's an antidote,"Lira’s face drained of color. “For… for who?”“For you,” Aurora said. “And for the others. When we find them.”Lira stared at the case like it might explode. “No,” she whispered. “Th

Nestore's POV Lira pushed herself to her feet, wobbling. Instinct kicked in—I took a step forward, but stopped myself when Aurora reached her first, steadying her with both hands.“You didn’t do anything wrong,” Aurora said quietly. “Nothing.”Lira’s breath hitched. “They used to say that too,” she whispered. “Right before—”“That’s not here,” Aurora cut in, not harshly, just firmly. “That’s over.”Nevio stayed where he was, jaw tight, fists clenched at his sides. He looked like a man holding himself back from tearing the world in half for someone who wasn’t even his blood.I watched Lira closely, the way she kept glancing at the door. The way she flinched whenever someone shifted their weight. The way hunger still fought fear in her eyes. This wasn’t greed, wasn’t lack of manners. It was survival.Nina guided her toward the couch. “Sit. You’re not cleaning anything.”“But I made a mess,” Lira said, panic creeping back in. “They’ll take it out of—”“No,” Nina snapped softly. “They wo

Nestore’s POV“Good day, Mr. Cavarallo.”The guards at Nina’s bar straightened as we walked in, hands snapping to their sides in something that looked like respect and fear tangled together.“Table sixteen,” one of them added quickly. “He’s already waiting.”I moved first, slow and deliberate. Nevio followed a step behind, positioning Aurora between us without making it obvious—muscle memory, not possession. Protection without announcement.Silas was already seated when we reached the table. He looked exactly like the kind of man who survived too many fights—lean, sharp-eyed, with a long scar dragging across his face from right to left, old and badly healed. A reminder of something he hadn’t won cleanly. His gaze flicked to Aurora the moment we sat.“I didn’t think you’d come with a girl,” he said, lips curling slightly.I didn’t respond.Aurora leaned back against Nevio’s chest, casual, unbothered. Her fingers rested lightly on his thigh.“That must’ve hurt,” she said softly, eyes fl

Aurora's POV I glanced toward Lira, pale and still under the blanket. The idea that her survival was on a clock made my vision blur.“There is another way,” Nina continued, lowering her voice. “But it’s ugly.”“Tell me.”“There are brokers,” she said. “Men who don’t touch the girls directly but handle logistics. Supply chains. Transport. Chemicals.” Her eyes flicked to me. “They drink at my club.”That didn’t surprise me. Nothing did anymore.“They talk,” she went on. “Not loudly. Not openly. But enough. Names, codes, locations. Who’s buying. Who’s selling. Who’s expanding.”“And you can get us in,” I said. She shook her head. “Not directly. I can’t introduce you. Too risky.”“But you can point us to someone who can,” I pressed. She hesitated and then nodded.“There’s one,” she said. “Mid-level. Ambitious. Thinks he’s smarter than he is. He’s been trying to move up, get closer to the inner circle. If someone came along with money and the right appetite… he’d bite.”Nevio’s words echo

  • OWNED BY THE MAFIA TWINS   CHAPTER 127

Aurora's POV Nina knelt beside Lira, hands already working, checking vitals, lifting her eyelids, pressing fingers against her neck. “She’s dehydrated. Fever’s bad. Possible infection, maybe worse.” She glanced up at me. “How long since she escaped?”“Three days,” I said.Nina swore under her breath. “Lucky she made it at all.”She pulled out syringes, vials, tools that didn’t belong anywhere near a living room. No one questioned it. This was the kind of woman who didn’t need permission.“She needs fluids. Antibiotics. And sleep somewhere quiet,” Nina said. “No moving her again tonight.”“She stays,” Nestore said immediately.Nina’s eyes flicked to him. “Good. Because if she spikes any higher, she’ll seize.”My chest tightened.Nina started an IV with steady hands, murmuring softly to Lira even though she was barely conscious. Watching her work was grounding, like proof that not everyone in this world destroyed—some still fixed what they could. When she finished, Nina stood and wiped
