"We'll leave you two to talk alone."

Isaac's already pulling Brandon toward the door before anyone can respond. Brandon resists for a moment, his eyes moving between me and Rae, his expression still shell-shocked from what I just revealed.

"Brandon—" I start.

"We'll talk later," he says, his voice rough. "You and me. Later."

It's not a request.

I nod.

Isaac practically drags him out of the dining room. Their footsteps echo through the hallway, then the front door opens and closes with a soft click.

And then it's just us.

Rae and me.

The silence stretches for what feels like an eternity. She's still standing in the doorway, staring at me like I'm a puzzle she can't quite solve.

"What did you mean?" she asks finally, her voice quiet but firm. "What do you mean Edward pushed her?"

I exhale slowly, running a hand through my hair. "Sit. Please."

She hesitates, then moves to one of the chairs and sits down. I take the seat across from her—the same position we were in dur

GraysonRaelynn pulls away like I've burned her, and disappointment settles heavy in my chest."I'm sorry," she says immediately, hugging herself, creating more distance. "I shouldn't have—we shouldn't have—""No." I shake my head, taking a step closer. "Don't apologize. This isn't your fault."She steps back. That single movement—that instinctive retreat—hits me harder than any punch Brandon's ever landed. This is my fault. All of it. The distance between us, the uncertainty in her eyes, the way she flinches away when I get too close.Six years ago, I pushed her away. Told myself it was to protect her. And now she can't even stand to be near me.I hate this. Hate what I've done. Hate that things are this way because of my choices."I shouldn't have rushed you," I say quietly, forcing myself to stay still even though every instinct is screaming at me to close the distance again. "I'm sorry, Rae. That was—I moved too fast. I just—""I need to go home." Her voice is small, shaky. She wo

RaelynnThe dance floor is packed with couples swaying to the music, but I'm hyperaware of only one person.Gray.His hand is on my waist—firm, possessive, burning through the fabric of my dress like a brand. His other hand holds mine, our fingers intertwined in a way that feels both familiar and completely foreign.I'm not sure what to do. My feet are moving on instinct, following his lead, but my mind is spinning. When was the last time I danced with anyone? When was the last time I let someone hold me like this?I step wrong, stumbling slightly."It's okay," Gray says immediately, his grip on my waist tightening to steady me. "Just follow my lead. I've got you.""I don't—" I start, feeling heat creep up my neck. "I'm not good at this.""You're doing fine." His voice is low, meant only for me despite the crowd around us. "Just relax, Sunshine."Before I can respond, he spins me.I gasp as the world blurs for a second, and then my back collides with his chest. His arm wraps around my

GraysonThe line at the entrance stretches down the block, filled with people in designer clothes and dripping with jewelry. Security guards check names against a guest list, their expressions stern and unwavering. But that's not the problem. The problem is that everyone—every single person—is wearing a mask.Elaborate, ornate masks covered in feathers and gems and intricate designs. Some cover full faces, others just the eyes, but they all scream wealth and exclusivity."Gray," Rae says beside me, turning to look at me with wide eyes. "We don't have masks."I scowl, already pulling out my phone. "James."He picks up on the second ring. "Mr. Blackwell? Is everything—""Why didn't you tell me this was a masquerade theme?" I snap, watching another couple in matching gold masks glide past our car."I—I sent it in the email, sir. The invitation specified—""I don't care what the invitation specified." I pinch the bridge of my nose. "Get us masks. Now. We're parked outside.""Of course, si

RaelynnI don't take his hand.He sighs but doesn't comment, just turns and leads the way upstairs. I follow, keeping a safe distance between us.He stops at a door—his room, presumably—and opens it.I step inside and immediately freeze. It's gray. Everything is gray.Just like the room we shared in our house six years ago. The walls, the bedding, even the curtains—all in varying shades of gray. My chest tightens with the memory of waking up in his arms every morning, the sun filtering through those same gray curtains. The smell hits me next. Cedar and something darker, something distinctly him. It's overwhelming in the best and worst way.I cross my arms, trying to ignore the longing that's suddenly making my chest ache.Gray walks past me toward his wardrobe. I feel his eyes on me, studying me."What?" I snap, not looking at him.He doesn't answer. Just opens the wardrobe doors. My eyes widen. The entire left side is filled with women's clothes. Dresses, blouses, pants, skirts—all a

GraysonA few days later'Punch.'Brandon's fist connects with my jaw hard enough to make my teeth rattle. I stumble back a step, shaking my head to clear it."Come on, Gray!" Brandon grins, bouncing on his feet, his boxing gloves up. "You're getting slow in your old age. All those business meetings making you soft?""Soft?" I spit to the side and reset my stance. "I'll show you soft."I feint left, then drive my right fist straight into his ribs. He grunts, the air leaving his lungs in a whoosh, but he's laughing even as he backs up."There he is!" Brandon circles me, still grinning like a maniac. "Thought the CEO had completely replaced my best friend for a second there.""Shut up and fight."We go at it again—trading blows, circling each other in my home gym. The boxing room is one of the few places in this house where I can actually breathe. Where I don't feel like I'm suffocating under the weight of Edward's expectations and my own plans for revenge.Brandon throws a combination—
