Lyra POV

My heart pounded as I carried Finn down the cave’s tunnel, his small body trembling in my arms, his bandaged arm pressed against my chest. The trapdoor Vince’s voice had echoed from was behind us, but the dark, narrow passage felt like a trap of its own.

Chris led the way, his flashlight cutting through the shadows, his face tense. Henry had stayed behind to hold off Vince, but his words about my parents, smuggling, debts, Salvatore gnawed at me, fueling my distrust. Who was telling the truth? I clutched Finn tighter, my breath shaky, paranoia choking me.

“Mommy, it’s scary,” Finn whimpered, his voice small, his eyes wide with fear.

“I know, buddy,” I whispered, kissing his forehead, my tears falling. “Stay with me. We’re getting out.”

Chris glanced back, his voice soft but urgent. “We’re almost through, Lyra. There’s an exit ahead.”

I nodded, my heart racing, but doubt twisted in my gut. Henry knew about this tunnel, how? Was he hiding something? And Chris, always there, a

Ciara's POV My body ached, bruises throbbing from where Salvatore’s men had dragged me into the van, their rough hands leaving marks on my arms. They’d thrown me into a damp, freezing cell in the tunnel system, the metal door slamming shut with a clang that echoed in my skull. My heart pounded, fear and guilt choking me as I curled up on the cold floor, the bloody knife I carried now gone, taken by the masked men. I had betrayed Salvatore, tried to warn Lyra, and now I was paying for it. But Finn’s scared face haunted me, pushing me to fight, to make this right.I pressed my ear to the door, my breath shaky, catching snippets of the guards’ conversation outside. “Ambush at the tunnel’s end,” one growled. “Lyra and the kid, no survivors.” My stomach twisted, tears burning my eyes. They were going after Finn, a ten-year-old boy, because of me. I had to get out, had to warn them.I fumbled in my hair, my hands trembling, and pulled out a bobby pin, my fingers slick with sweat. I picked

Rhy's POV My heart pounded as I led Lyra and Finn through the dark tunnel, my gun raised, every shadow a threat, we later met at the tunnel, after the gun battle with Vince at that tunnel. Chris was right beside me, his flashlight cutting through the gloom, but his presence burned like a thorn in my side. I hated him, his arm around Lyra, his smug hero act, trying to steal my family. Jealousy churned in my gut, mixing with the desperation to save Lyra and Finn from Vince and Salvatore’s men. I’d betrayed Lyra with Ciara, but I’d die before losing them to this guy.“Keep moving,” I said, my voice low, my eyes on Finn, his small frame trembling in Lyra’s arms, his bandaged arm stained with blood. My heart broke seeing him like that, guilt clawing at me. This was my fault, my deals with Salvatore, my mistakes.Chris glanced at me, his jaw tight. “You’re slowing us down, Rhys,” he hissed, his voice sharp. “Stop glaring and focus.”“You’re a fraud, Chris!” I whispered, my voice shaking w

Ciara's POVMy heart pounded as I dove behind the couch, Mara’s bullets shattering the safehouse window, glass spraying around me. I clutched the bloody knife she had given me, my hands trembling, my breath ragged. I have crossed Don Salvatore, hacked his phone, and now Mara, his supposed ally, wanted me dead for it. But I wasn’t done. I had to warn Lyra and Finn, had to stop Salvatore’s hit on them. Guilt over Finn’s scared face drove me, pushing past my fear. I wasn’t a killer, and I’d prove it, even if it killed me.I crawled to the door, my heart racing, and sprinted to my car, the gunfire echoing behind me. I floored the gas, speeding toward the mountains, the coordinates from Salvatore’s phone burned into my mind. Lyra and Finn were in a cabin there, and I had to get to them before his men did. Tears streamed down my face, my chest tight with fear and regret. I’d helped destroy Rhys’s life, hurt Lyra, endangered Finn. This was my chance to make it right.I grabbed my phone, my

Rhy's POV My heart pounded as I sped through the mountain roads, the coordinates Jake sent burning in my mind. Lyra and Finn were in a cave, running from Vince, from Salvatore’s men, and I was too far away. Guilt tore at me, my betrayal with Ciara, the video, the warehouse fires, all my fault. But worse, Chris was with them, playing hero to my family. Jealousy burned hotter than my fear, my hands shaking on the wheel. Lyra was mine, Finn was my son, and no one was taking them from me.“Hold on, Lyra,” I muttered, my voice raw, tears stinging my eyes. “I’m on my way.”I reached the clearing, my truck skidding to a stop. The cave loomed ahead, dark and jagged, and I grabbed my gun, my heart racing. Jake’s warning about Chris’s shady past, smuggling, maybe drugs fueled my distrust. He wasn’t the saint Lyra thought, and I Will prove it. I ran toward the cave, my boots crunching on gravel, my chest tight with rage and desperation. At the entrance, I saw him, Chris, his arm around Lyra,
