42: You’re glowing, Scarlett

SCARLETT

“Is it me, or are you glowing Scarlett?” Aurora spoke up out of nowhere.

We were in the kitchen; me, Aurora and Maeve, preparing dinner— or rather, trying to prepare dinner. Only Maeve could sort of cook among the three of us so we were pretty much her assistant in the kitchen.

And now, I’m trying to understand what Aurora was on about.

“What do you mean?” I asked, brows furrowed in confusion.

“You know, I kinda noticed it too.” Maeve chipped in, wiggling her brows at me. My brows scrunched up even more, getting more confused.

“Right!” Aurora’s lips stretched in that mischievous smile of hers that I knew all too well. I didn’t need anyone to tell me that the wheels were turning in her head and she was about to make some weird assumptions.

Weird assumptions that mostly turn out to be true.

“It’s probably this new cream I’m trying out,” I shrugged, stirring the sauce in the pot. I squinted into the bowl when I realized that whatever was in the pot was no longer like sauce.
