THREE

"Miss River?" he called. Gaby looked at her, and Marian was fast asleep.

"Gaby, wake her up," he said. Gaby smiled and gently raised her hand.

"Can I answer for her?" She suggested, but Logan scowled.

"Wake her up," he said with his brows raised.

"But, you can already see her in class," she dragged.

Logan quietly folds his hands across his chest, looking at her. His stare was deep and evil. Gaby felt goosebumps on her skin and immediately took her eyes off, nudging Marian to wake up.

"What?" She groaned as saliva filled her lips.

"Miss River, the first rule of her class is no sleeping," he stated

"Huh?" She glanced around, and the whole class was staring at her. Logan looked at her and shook his head gently. Her cuteness gladdened his heart, her hair slammed her face, and she struggled to remove them. She looked confused like she was trying to figure out where she was.

"Since you are the last on my list, that would be all," he slammed the book, looking away. He sighed. The lecture hall became noisy, and he attempted to leave.

" Not so fast, g-guys..." he yelled, and they looked at him and stopped. "By my next class, I will pair you by three," he finished.

"Why?" Gaby complains. Marian sat there looking. She wasn't ever in support of the group project and hated it.

"Mr Logan!" Rita rushed over to him.

"Yes," he turned to her, and she flushed immediately.

"Can we not do group projects?" She asked, tilting her head, trying to be cute with her smile.

"Rita, this is a group project, and I don't care if you don't like it. You guys get to work together as mates. It would be fine," he said. "By the next class, I would come up with a topic," he added.

"But Mr Noel!" Marian gets up, calling.

"That's all for today. I will answer the next question in my next class!" He said and walked out.

"Oh dear, our darling, Marian doesn't affect Mr Logan!" Rita said. Marian breathed and sat down.

"I don't think he cares about you either," Juan Scott— Juan is the class nerd. He wasn't the regular type of nerd, the dull type. He was a hot and rich nerd, and everyone knew he had a thing for Marian.

"Little afraid Mr Logan would take your little birdy from you?" Rita teased.

Frustratedly, Marian picked up her bag and stormed out of the hall. Gaby pursued after.

"I think you should watch your mouth," he snapped, running after her.

"Hey! Marian!" He called. Marian looked back and found him

"He keeps trying," Gaby shook her head. Marian looked at her, speechless

"Hey, I'm sorry about that," he said as he approached her.

"Thanks, Peter, it's not a big deal," Marian said and continued without hesitation

"It's cool. I was also defending myself," He said with a smile.

"Not really, but I have to go," she said, pulling Gaby closer.

"That would be cool, tomorrow maybe?" he asked. Marian nodded subconsciously. Gaby had always loved Marian and Juan to end up together. They were both Spanish. They suited each other.

"Okay, I will see you later," he replied, with happiness in his tone.

Moments later, A taxi parked in front of a restaurant, and Marian stepped out along with Gaby.

"So much for something to do," Gaby said, and the door opened. Marian looked back.

"He's frustrating," she sighed.

"And you dished him,"

"Well, works for both of us," Marian replied, walking closer to the desk.

After ordering waffles and Chicken, Marian didn't forget to add her favourite strawberry milkshake and Gaby and apple drink. They both had books on the table as well.

"Do I make you uncomfortable?" he smiled. His smile this time looked creepy" Logan's voice was playing repeatedly in her head, leaving her distracted as she stared at the window, imagining a perfect scenery of them.

"Marian?" Gaby tapped. She looked at her immediately, like someone who had seen a ghost.

"What?" She cleared her throat, looking at her.

"What are you looking at?" Gaby asked, looking out the window. No one was there.

"Me? Nothing was thinking," She throws her food into her mouth.

"So, did you agree?" Gaby ask.

"About what?" Marian looks at her.

"What?" She opens her eyes, looking at her, while Gaby glares, pissed with her absence.

"Nevermind, it isn't even important," Gaby brushed.

"Um... I don't follow the project. What do you think is going to be the topic?" Marian tried changing the topic.

"Why should we know?" She eyed her and continued with her food.

"I know, right," she continued out the window, staring around. Maybe she could talk to him. Why did he bother her so much? She sighed.

"You're weird," Gaby whispered, lowering her head to the book she was reading.

"I will be back, and I need to get something from school!" Marian said, getting up and grabbing her bags along.

"Hey!" Gaby called, but she had already left the restaurant.

Approaching the library, Marian prayed to her God. He was there, and with no idea what she was doing, she walked in. "Your ID?" the librarian asked her.

"ID?" she searched her pocket and bag, but it was nowhere to be found. "Can't you just allow me in? You know me," she whispers.

"I'm sorry, you know it's against the rule," He replied. Marian sighed softly. Guess she wasn't going to see him, but a voice interrupted.

"She's coming in with me," he said. Marian looked back at him, and he smiled, staring at her. Her heart jumped when his hands gently wrapped her waist.

"Okay," the librarian said, letting them in uncomfortably. Marian walked by his side. He was a professor. Why was he touching her that way? She loved his large hands.

Logan could tell she loved it, she wasn't shrugging him, and he found her breath rag.

After they had reached a closed area, he slowly let go of her and stood in her front.

"Let me guess, you're looking for me," he said, standing tall in her front. He was right, and she hated that. Marian looked down and chuckled.

"Oh, no!" she lied, she literally ran over to him, and now she lied.

"Then what are you doing here?" He questioned.

"I wanted to check for a book." She said, unable to meet his gaze.

"Shush!" a girl interrupts them.

"Sorry!" Logan whispers.

"Should I help you find..." he offered.

"No, you should find what you also came here for," she suggested.

"I came here for you," he spat. Again Marian's heart twitched at those words, and her legs tightened. "I knew you were going to be here, so I came," he said.
