Chapter 2 Shock

It was about six o’clock on Saturday evening when Chelsea was still asleep that she heard her phone ring. At first, she did not want to answer it, but after a while, she suddenly answered it, and in a blink of an eye, that was how she managed to answer the call when the phone rang severally.

Without looking at the caller ID, she quickly answered it and put it directly to her ears.

“Chelsea Suzy McCain, do not tell me you are asleep? I mean, it is evening and we have to be at the school reunion party by eight, or aren’t you anxious to meet old school friends?“ Thalia’s sharp voice pierces Chelsea’s ears and forces her to open them.

She had been asleep all day because she didn’t have work today, and what had happened last night only made her blush.

“I would attend it, let’s meet in an hour at my home, and please, can you drive me there? I don’t think I would want to drive my car tonight,“ you say flatly.

Thalia has been your best friend since high school and the bond between you both was very shocking.

It was about two hours later when you stumped into the school reunion party, it was held in a very classy space. You all had suggested the school, but damn, as adults, this year was special, thus, a fancy place was rented and you all were given invitations before the actual date.

Louis Joel Parker stood at the center of the hall with his best friend Marco, he had been Chelsea’s monitor. Marco had brown hair and blue eyes, and he fancied keeping his hair extremely short. For Louis, he had shaved the corners of his head to give him that boyish look again, and today, his dress cuffs and lean body in a blue tuxedo suit said it all, he was perfect.

Louis constantly glanced around searching for Chelsea, and when she entered the hall closely followed by her best friend, Thalia, he couldn’t remove his eyes from hers.

Chelsea had picked out a party gown that was knee level, and it made her curves show. Even though he had seen her naked and enjoyed that view, Louis couldn’t believe that fill breast of hers could be so attractive and pointy. Louis didn’t know he was daydreaming until he was dabbed by his friend at the elbow.

“I see my lover, Thalia, if you do not mind, we should walk to the ladies now,“ Marco muttered leading the way.

It was beautiful doing so, oh yes! and as they close the distance between them, Marco smiled at Thalia and Louis at Chelsea.

He was skeptical if she still recognized him from yesterday, but then, she was as calm and discreet as ever.

Marco kissed Thalia on the forehead.

“How is work, Chelsea?“ he asked.

Chelsea doesn’t feel comfortable talking about her work, but she managed to say, “It is fine, I am a secretary now,“ she announced proudly though, making sure Louis heard her so well.

“Good to see you again. Louis, Chelsea, I would go have a drink with Thalia, you both should do the same,“ he said urging them.

Before they left, Thalia winked at Chelsea, and whispered discreetly to her, “Have fun with Louis, and please, don’t hold back the fun, okay? we will see later,“ with that, he allowed Marco to pull her away.

That was a good start for the embarrassed adults.

Chelsea had the urge to talk, but she waited for Louis to start, she wasn’t even sure he noticed her, but then, there was no giving out of herself, unless he speaks first. Well, they seemed to have lost their tongue. In unison, they both called out,

“Chelsea,“

“Louis,“

A wave of embarrassment sweet through Chelsea’s face, she brushed.

“You go first, Louis,“ Chelsea quickly said.

“You look beautiful,“ he murmured.

Chelsea knew she was as red as a tomato itself, but it was with humility she managed to stay calm and murmur, “Thank you,“

They walked towards a secluded area, Louis offered her a champagne flute and as they drank it, the awkwardness was just so evident.

They were once more attracted to themselves and slowly touching their lips against one another, it was a go ahead that something would happen if they don’t stop.

Breaking out of the kiss, Chelsea quickly said to Louis, “Excuse me,“

“Where are you going to?“ Louis asked concerned as if she might have hurt her.

Chelsea read the pain in Louis’s eyes and said quickly, “To the bathroom,“

Smiling weakly, she made her way to the bathroom.

During that time, Louis received a call from his company and left. They said it was urgent and they all needed him.

While in the bathroom, Chelsea stared at herself in the mirror for a long time, she removed her pink lip balm and applied it. At once, before she left, her phone started ringing. The caller ID indicated it was the doctor, and thus, she answered immediately.

“Allo Miss Chelsea? come to the hospital now, your mom’s condition is getting worse, we think we are losing her,“ the doctor said hanging up.

Chelsea gets confused and leaving from the bathroom, she goes back to her spot but Louis is nowhere to be found. In frustration, she walks out of the hall, rushing to the hospital.
