FOUR— KYLER'S POV

Being king isn't always fun. There was everything I needed, but there wasn't always spare time cause in my spare time, I took classes from Kesem.

Kesem and I had always been close. His father was the former general for my father, and now he was my general. Kesem was the best swordsman Yodora had and the best Archer.

"Well, well, if it isn't the very famous King," He said as he saw me approach. I ignored him and walked to get my bow and arrow, and a quiet sigh escaped my lips.

"I guess you've heard," I turned to him. Kesem lowered his bow and chuckled briefly before walking to where I stood.

"You captured a Kingdom, chose the Queen's servant instead of the Queen, and you expect her to be so pleased, I'd have splashed you my wine instead," He said, laughed, but began to move backwards when I threatened to stab with my arrow. "I was only being truthful. You're quite an asshole, Your Majesty," he finished.

I took a deep breath and remained silent. "Maybe you're right, but -"

"There's no 'but' you should give her time to process it. She would eventually give in," He said. Silence hovered around, and he said, "She's lovely. Kings would come after her,"

"Not when she's my Queen," I replied and took out my arrow, aiming for the red sign where Kesem's arrow hit.

"Your Majesty!" A familiar voice interrupts. I missed, and a low growl escaped my raised lips. Kesem chuckled. I turned in the direction. It was Lee, my servant boy.

"What is it, Lee? Can't you see I am -" I stopped, staring at the blood stain on his white uniform.

"Your Majesty, it's Her Highness," he said, breathing heavily. I looked at Kesem and dropped my arrow, walking away as fast as possible.

He didn't need to complete his statement for me to understand she was in danger, damnit. I ran as fast as I could.

As I neared her Chambers, I found her servants rushing in with a bucket of water.

"I'm sorry, Sire... you can't go in," Naomi said. I furrowed my brows, confused, slightly annoyed. No one was telling me anything.

"What fucking happened, Naomi?" I asked again.

"I'm sorry, Sire... I was careless. I should have known better," she said,

"What?" I glared with a disgusted smirk.

"I shouldn't have let them alone. I mean, Victoria and Her Highness,"

"Naomi, do you like your job?" I asked. She looked at me and quickly lowered her gaze, nodding. "What the fuck happened here?" I asked.

"She tried to stab her... I mean, Victoria stabbed Her Highness. The royal doctor said she would be fine. The knife grazed her skin."

"Step away," I ordered.

"Sire, you can't."

"Step away this instant, Naomi or do you want to be beheaded?"

She bowed and moved away while her mid-servant opened the door. There she was, Isabelle... almost lifeless, lying on her bed while they cleaned her up. Her hair lay perfectly on the bed, while the sheets were stained with her blood. Her skin had turned white, and her lips pale.

Anger crawled into me. I was watching her not moving. I suddenly thought of how to get back at Victoria for this. How dare she lay a hand on my bride. No fear, I'd kill her. My jaw tightened, suppressing my anger, and my hands fisted beside me. Of course, I had respected her, but that was over when she touched Isabelle.

It wasn't her kingdom. It was my kingdom, and Isabelle wasn't her maid anymore. Now, her Queen, Her Highness, Her Majesty, Her Grace, as long as I am alive, no one dares to lay a hand on her because she was no longer Isabelle Teagan but Isabelle Castiel, Queen of Yodora.

"Sire," Kim, the royal doctor, called softly.

I released my tightened jaw, rubbing my lips with my hands, "How is she?"

"Her pulse is stable, but she's still bleeding," he said, moving away so I could see the cut by her side. The knife grazed her skin? Bullshit, that's a deep stab.

"Save her," I said softly, "Do what you can,"

"Yes, Sire," He continued, I stood for a while, staring at her pale face, eyes closed, but her makeup left a tear stain.

I took a sharp breath and turned around, heading towards the door. It opened, and I walked past Naomi, paused, and looked at her. "Bring her to me, now," I said. Kesem followed.

"Kyler-" Kesem called. I ignored it and continued. I heard him sigh as we reached the courtroom.

The door opened, and I walked towards my golden throne, sitting and awaiting Victoria's presence.

The door opened, and two men walked in, holding her while she struggled but calmed when she sighted me. Her eyes brightened, and a smile crawled up her lips.

She stood, but the men pushed her to her knee, and she sat there, almost comfortable.

"Kyler," she called with relief, smiling further. After silence, she chuckled, "You look handsome as ever," she said.

I got up and walked to Kesem. Our eyes met, he shook his head but it was useless. I reached out for his dagger, and his face fell. Unable to stop me, he stood watching. When I turned to Victoria, she panicked at the sight of the dagger.

"Ky-k-k," she stammered, moving backwards while still kneeling. Her smile shook, frightened by the dagger I held while slowly approaching her. I could feel the fear that gripped her. "Wh-hat are you doing?" She questioned with fear, looking around.

"Isabelle," I said, and the fear that covered her face turned to anger quickly,

"Of course, your little bride," She said through her gritted teeth, her lips raised slightly.

I bent in front of her, my eyes locked in hers. I placed the dagger between us, and her eyes followed it, "Victoria," I called, her eyes again in mine. "You don't touch what's mine,"

"It's equal then. You touched what's mine first," she groaned angrily.

"I respected you because of your father... I put you in luxury, even though you were a prisoner,"

"Luxury, Kyler? That's bullshit, well your people didn't put me in luxury," she replied, and I smiled. Her eyes danced around my face, confused as to why I smiled. "You went against the rule, Kyler. I am to be your bride,"

"No, I make the decisions, I rule Yodora, I am King, and I also choose what rule to follow and what rule to change," I replied. "I get to pick who I marry, and you don't. You're a nobody,"

"Why? Does her body entice you?!" She glared at me, "She's just a lowly servant. Wake up!" She breathed furiously.

"At least she's better than you are," I said.

I looked up at the guard who came in with her, "Hold her," I ordered.

She shook her head and attempted to run, but the guards were faster than her, pinning her in front of me. She kicked her legs, hoping to push me away, but they held her well. When she was unable to struggle, she began to scream.

"No! No! Kyler! No," she breathed heavily, trying to struggle. She screamed and cried as I pierced the knife into her side.

Her screaming died when I was done, and she looked at me with anger, of course. Her gaze turned to Kesem.

She screamed again as I pulled the dagger out. I threw it on the floor and took the white napkin from a female servant, wiped my hands, and looked at her with a smile.

"Lock her up," I said, standing. "She is to be beheaded for treason,"

"No, Kyler... you don't understand," she said, breathing shallowly. No response from me, "You monster!" She said under her breath, and the men dragged her away, leaving a trail of her blood.
